Work Text:

"OHH OHH OHHHH OH OH OHHH OH OHH OHHHH UP AND DOWNNNNN IM LIKE SEE SAWWWW WHICH IS RIGHT I SEE OR SAW YOU WHICH IS RIGHT I LOVE OR LOVED YOU-"

"CAN YOU TURN THIS EMO SHIT DOWN?"

"NAHHH BRO TURN IT UP"

The usual morning you could say, for a crappy small apartment filled with way too many people to be considered normal. But who cares. The girls were having the time of their life in one of the three vacation airbnbs BBC could afford, broke ass bitches.

"Vivi tasteless for this one." Chaewon complains, pausing the music. "Like yes grandma let me appreciate my absolutely fantastic music??"

"Nah that shit slaps." Jinsoul defends wheezing at Vivi's mortified expression.

"YOU'RE 24"

"AND?"

"YOU DECIDE BLASTING YOUR SONG AT 10AM IS A GOOD IDEA?"

"CAN'T HEAR YOU GIRL ONE AND ONLY IS PLAYING GETTING MY PROMOTION SINCE BBC WON'T AND I AINT WASTING TALENT."

"I'm convinced I live with toddlers." Hyunjin sighed, sitting on one of the chairs at the makeshift table. It wasn't any great but it did the job.

"Could be worse." Jinsoul replies sitting on the opposite side smiling, Vivi and Gowon still arguing in the background, the two manifestations of the word girlboss wouldn't let such a fight die that easily. "Yeojin could have been awake."

"Don't get me started please."

"Ya'll just exaggerating they're not that bad." Sooyoung laughs, joining their conversation as they cook up everyone's breakfast. Always trust THE Ha Yves Sooyoung on cooking. Considering more than half of the group would burn the kitchen down-

"We love 'em anyway."

"AYOOOO EVERYBODY WAZZUP" Yeojin yells opening their bedroom door, clearly hyped from the noise and wanting to join in.

"Speak of the devil." Hyunjin says.

"Oh hi Yeojin." Vivi and Chaewon both stop to say hi before going back at each other's throats.

"Omg y'all insane love it here fight fight fight!" Yeojin says on the side hyping up the fight until Vivi gets tired and goes to join the others in the kitchen.

"Ya'll seriously decided to fight over See Saw?"

"Better than Jinsoul and Hyunjin having a gatekeeping war over their favorite artists and somehow it got the whole apartment yelling." Gowon shrugs sitting on the counter opposite of the others. They really took the phrase Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss literally, thank you Yeojin for teaching them that.

"THAT WAS A ONE TIME THING BRO" Jinsoul argues making the others wheeze harder.

"It was absolutely ridiculous im sorry bro"

"Love the noise ya ll."

"Our neighbours probably don't" Vivi comments, looking up at the ceiling. "Last time we had a whole police crew call on us because someone thought we're killing each other when we invited the rest over and Jiwoo decided a karaoke was what was missing.

"Eh it's America, what did you expect? BBC couldn't send us anywhere else." Hyunjin answers.

"Hate 'em for real." Yeojin says.

"So what are we doing on our vacation day today dear lesbians?" Yves asks as they place down plates in front of everyone and serve them their breakfast, not the best but definitely better than the shit these people could serve them downstairs. (a/n;this is for jokes americans dont take my throat please)

"The beach is just nearby we can take Sooyoung's car and go today." Yeojin suggests and everyone agrees. At the end of the day, who could hate a beach day? Well-

"Oh I ain't joining today. I'm not that big of a fan of beaches, I'll just rent a bike and ride around if that's fine with y'all?" Chaewon asks, which raises some hesitation.

"I can also bring Hyeju when she wakes up." she adds.

"Sure then." Jinsoul and then the rest agree. Gowon takes that as their signal to leave and with that they pack their bag and get outta there.

"We should grab our stuff too, I doubt Hyeju will join us right now, right?" Yves asks the group, only to receive clueless looks back.

"They're sleeping and I don't think any of us want to face Hyejoo when she's forced to wake up." Hyunjin says and everyone quickly agrees. Last time they did so they couldn't have regretted it more.

"I'll just text and write down where we are in case they need us or want to join, Chaewon can drive them anyway." Vivi says, grabbing a pen and paper nearby to write down.

"And we'll see them on the news tonight. Two young girls found dead crashed into their car on the side of the bridge while they were making their way to the beach.'' Yeojin clowns.

"Nah we've had worse drivers they'll be okay with Gowon on the wheel." Vivi answers.

"Alright y'all, grab your stuff. We are partying today."

Cheers and horrays were heard from inside the apartment as everyone eagerly grabbed their bags and essentials and headed out to have some fun. Coming all the way to a beach city and not going to the beach would be a crime after all.

Random time skip because i'm too lazy to add anything in between <3

"MY LONELINESS IS KILLING MEEE AND IIII I MUST CONFESS I STILL BELIEVEEE STILL BELIEVEEEE WITHOUT YOU I LOSE MY MIIIIND GIVE ME A SIIIIGN HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME"

"Yeah so- OH JESUS WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK-" Hyejoo yelled waking up shocked due to the ungodly fucking loud music. It was a summer Saturday in America, what did she expect really. (no offense love ya'll

"TURN THAT FUCKING MUSIC DOWN YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING PSYCHOPATHS"

It was useless, all she got in return was some yelling, music even louder and what she can guess were some probably not so pretty swear words. Sighing, Hyeju slumped back down in bed tired.

"Fucking americans and their music." Britney Spears? she slaps and we love her but not in the middle of the day.

Looking around, it was kinda weird to not hear any noise in the apartment right now. Shouldn't someone be complaining about the music by now? Or at least be chasin someone else down around the whole perimeter? (Yeojin and Haseul had quite the reputation for this)

Getting up and putting on a hoodie, Hyejoo makes their way through the empty apartment wondering what the fuck happened when they reach the kitchen and see a note down. Checking their phone they also see a text from both Gowon and Vivi and they decide to check them after reading the note.

Heyyyyy tiny- *GUNSHOT* excuse me, Yeojin wrote that, anyways Hyejoo bestie me, Jinsoul, Sooyoung and Yeojin are on the beach rn with the rest of the girls, we decided to not wake you up in case it'd anger you, Chaewon's in the area if you wanna join us just call her up take care babe!!!

-Vivi

P.S. left overs in the fridge for my favorite child <3 -Yves

P.S.2. I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR FAVORITE UNNIE??? -Yeojin

P.S. 3. Sorry to break it to you like this lentil bean -Jinsoul

P.S.4. WE LOVE YOUUU TAKE CARE STREAM MY MIXTAPE WHILE WE'RE GONE!!! Chaewon told me to write that <3

"Will do." she tells herself, opening the fridge, she takes out the leftover bacon and eggs and pops them in the microwave before checking their phone. Vivi was jus announcing they're gone while Chaewon informed her of her whereabouts, well, depends, considering the way she texts it gets confusing sometimes.

"ayooooo"
"good morninn"
"sorry for spamming last night"
"☠️☠️☠️"
"anyways"
"the others are goin to the beach today that's lit(?) idk ive heard it from yeojin"
"we can go join them later too"
"the beach at night is usually empty here ive heard and i bet itd look epic"
"and its still warm and pretty"
"depends"
"anygays im out rn, decided to watch the scenery around on a bike i rented"
"call me if you need anything or get lonely"
"like youre stuck alone so like im here yk"
"naur i get it"
"ah shit im spamming again sorry dbdbdb"
"ANYWAYS"
"text me later cyaa"

"This dumbass" Hyeju laughs, replying back to what she can before closing her phone to see the food's ready as the microwave that looks straight out of summer 1998 beeps.

Digging in, despite not being that hungry, she wouldn't let Yves' cookin go to waste yk? At least that's what she tried to tell herself and that the food totally wasn't hella good, not when she plans to break her top bunk onto this woman one day. /Half joke.

Looking at the clock, it was already 5pm which was still sunny out but not for long. Having nothing better to do, she goes to text Gowon back again when there was already one waitin for her.

"heyo wanna join me on my bike tonight?"

Without much thought, she agrees. And not even 10 minutes later she hears the door burst open as Gowon comes in with their crackhead energy already spreading. She was excited, of course she was.

"I got one bike but it has those pegs on the back wheel so you can stay in the back if that's alright? Or better yet, you can take the wheel and I'll sit on them since i've done it before." She explains.

"How would that work?"

"Let me show you and if it doesn't work I can try to rent another bike nearby, no worries." Chaewon assures leading Hyejoo out of the apartment before locking the door and shoving her keys back in her pocket.

"You still have the unicorn keychain?"

"It'd be a sin not too, it's a little gay unicorn i love it so much im tellin you."

Hyejoo giggles at that. It was the most random ass thing but somehow Gowon always found everything fascinating in their own weird ways, from Sooyoung's piano skills and Heejin's guitar playing to the weirdest family drama she's heard. It was sweet in a way, like she always paid attention to things despite seemingly doing two or more things at a time constantly.

Unlocking the bike chain and shoving it in her backpack, Chaewon gets the gray and blue highlights bike out of their apartment building and takes it out to where Hyejoo's waiting outside.

"So, how does this work?" she asks, looking at her girlfriends' bike. It was a simple bike but it was decorated in white paint with names of people, places , groups and doodles, whoever this was rented from clearly had a thing for design and it was a pretty unique look to it.

"I haven't done this in forever either but." Gowon starts as they invite Olivia to sit down on the bike. Doing so, she waits as Chaewon takes one then both her feet up on the pegs, holding onto the girl's shoulders for balance as she starts to pedal forward without any real direction, the destination didn't matter to them now, but the bumpy journey ahead. "Is this alright?" Chaewon asks as she rests her hands a bit lower, holding closer to the other girl as she smiles.

"Yeah of course it is."

Nothing else was said after that. It wasn't needed. Although Gowon was very talkative in private and especially with Hyejoo and Hyejoo loved to listen, specifically to her, they both loved to just embrace the silence sometimes and let it speak for the both of them.

And forward they went. All around the town area they were residing, from the most broken down roads to the most stable, from fields to houses to parks they've passed by so many different environments. It was peaceful in a way. Being a spectator to the world around you, wind in your hair despite the warm weather, watching as kids run together on the street throwing balls and playing with each other, people gathering outside to put some meat on the grill and cook up some burgers, elderly women walking around with their grandchildren to the park to watch over them as they go on and explore the limitless adventures such a place gives them.

It was fulfilling, wholesome, something so simple about how we all work. You don't think much about these things and these people, at the end of the day, you don't know any of them, but it didn't matter to them, they just loved to see the world as it is with it'd goods and bads.

Going down a hill at one of the town margins, Gowon starts holding on harder, only making Hyeju smile more on the inside. They didn't get many times like these, being able to stay close and safe because people didn't know them here. Pulling out her phone, Gowon quickly played some music, one earphone for each as they kept going.

Checking the time, Hyeju decides to take on towards a road on the left and moving forward as the town's houses start to disappear around them, only being surrounded by a large field on their right and some spaced out apartment buildings on their left. It was a large empty space ahead but she knew that usually meant one thing and that's peace and great sunsets. Two things she'd die for.

Going further and further from the town, they finally reach close to the end of any building, just reaching a park.

"Can we walk around here, it looks pretty empty?" Chaewon asks, getting an excited yes in return. Both get off and lock the bike in place before approaching the park.

Walking around, it was mostly empty at this time of day, most parents of children already retrieving back home or out at clubs, which left the two in the perfect time to do whatever the hell they want. And you bet they went ham.

From sitting down on the grass and rollin around to dancing to random music playing to just enjoying each others' presence and story telling embarassing childhood stories, the atmosphere couldn't be any better as Hyeju was laughing at a dumb joke Gowon cracked while she was getting leaves out of her hair.

"You know, you look so pretty when you concentrate." Gowon says smiling receiving a jokingly weak punch to their shoulder.

"Shut up idiot, look at your hair before you speak." Hyeju replied, trying to sound upset despite the clear smile on her face.

"Make me."

"Bet?"

"What-"

"Nothing."

"If you say so."

While talking about some sort of weird competition her along with Jiwoo and Yerim had, Gowon sees a stray dog running towards them and knowing how much stray dogs like to bite around the outskirts of towns, they were ready to warn Hyejoo but before they could do anything the dog was already at her legs jumping up excitedly.

"Looks like they like you." Gowon says giggling seeing the girl struggle to get the dog to calm down. "That makes two of us."

"I wouldn't mind if they weren't about to suffocate me, give me a hand will you?" Hyejoo replies as the dog wouldn't leave her for the love of god.

"Nah i kinda like this to be honest."

"Chaewon.."

"Naur c'mon look at it, it's adorable. AYY doggo i got snacks.'' Opening her backpack to retrieve something for the dog, she gets out two apples and gives one to Hyeju while she takes the other and gets the dog to get to her.
(yes i googled what you can feed dogs shut up i am this dedicated)

The dog happily munched on the apple as Gowon petted them and let them rest between the two of them.

"Shouldn't we do something about it?" Hyejoo asks concerned for the dog.

"Not sure what we can do to be honest. I'll call up one of my friends that works for an animal rescue centre. For now we can take them with us if you want to, I saw some benches a bit forward from here and they look like they have a great view. Let's go?"

"Sure."

Getting up, they both left the park and as expected the dog followed them but they let it do so as they walked by foot to the building nearby, a simple abandoned sports building with 4 benches outside, 2 on each side in front of it, in the middle of nowhere.

"I can see why you eyed this place." Hyeju says as they sit down on one of the benches, Chaewon sits right next to them as the dog takes a seat under the bench itself.

"And why do you think that is?"

"I mean, idk. It's peaceful and pretty isolated and in nature, that sounds like your kind of place you know?" Hyeju says unsure, looking back at Gowon who is giving back a reassuring smile.

"Pretty much, although you missed one thing." she says and Hyejoo looks confused back at her before Gowon points forward for her to look at probably why they left the park in the first place.

The view could only be described as beautiful in Hyejoo's eyes, captured at the right time in the right environment, she couldn't believe her eyes, something as simple and ordinary as a sunset could look so different from another perspective. The colors couldn't be looking more clearer as the harsh red of the setting sun contrasted against the open green field, the opposing colors going well together in such an event as the warm rays or faded orange spread across the light blue sky, combining into a faint pink at the sides, it was as if it was stolen straight from a painting and thrown into the world without a clue.

For some good time, they both stayed in silence, Hyeju, despite her cold exterior, opted to lay down and rest her head on Chaewon as she put a hand on her hair, as they continued to stay close, watching as the brightly warm colors of the sun soon fade into the ground, a harsh dark taking over the sky as tiny sparks of white appear in front of them like white paint splattered onto a black canvas.

Sometimes life is about the simple things, like holding your loved one under the night sky on a summer night and wishing for the best ahead. We're all so different yet we all live, breathe, watch and hope under the same sky, keeping us connected despite the distance, differences or cultures. Nothing could beat the true power of the world that surrounds us.

Sometimes every thought in your head, every worry and deadline set into your brain fade when you're too busy focusing on watching the view, well, both views.

"Why do I have a feeling you're watching me more than the sky?" Hyeju says, turning her head to look up at Gowon to catch her staring.

"I mean, it technically still counts as a view-"

"You did not-"

"Oh yes I did."

"Dumbass"

"Your dumbass?"

"Yeah. My dumbass."

They both giggle as they've watched the lights in the distance lighting up and checking the time to see it was already past 10pm, way too late to stay in such a place like this, but when did they care. It couldn't matter now.

And they spent most of the night in the same place, mostly talking quietly as they held each other close and went on despite the late hours passing by them like nothing.

Here and there, they'd get up to dance to whatever was playing as they'd giggle and hold each other close.

One step to the right, and one to the left, Hyeju led them around as they were slowly swaying to Starlight, looking at the moon above them reflecting in each other's eyes, smiling.

Those 3 minutes aimlessly moving in a rhythm they've established in an unspoken silence, they felt like the longest they've lived, like time stopped around them, like they were the only ones in this world, deep in each other, nothing else mattered.

But not long after, in a pretty dramatic turn of events, they'd be sitting on another bench dramatically singing Rosy to each other as they carved little things on the bench with the pocket knife Hyeju had on hand.

Childish? Maybe. But can you blame them? Sometimes the best times in life is when you let go of your mature attitude and do something stupid and crazy or childish to have fun.

After leaving an array of cute little doodles, Loona references and some hearts around their names, they lay back down, Hyeju laying her head on Chaewon's lap as she hugged her waist.

"You know how those cliché's books, songs , movies and lines always include something like''this reminds me of you" bullshit. It's funny actually, but somehow, whenever I watch the sunset, you always come back to mind, like the first night I could face my feelings about you and confess. I think that's one of the most beautiful sunset's i've seen." Hyeju starts smiling, bringing their face down into Gowon's hoodie out of embarrassment of saying it out loud, only making both of them wheeze.

"Can't say I don't relate." Chaewon replies.

"I know and I'm glad you're here to watch this one with me."

"Can't deny such a peaceful time with you now can i?"

"rkndncnekekdks"

"How the fuck did you just keyboard smash verbally-"

"No clue.

"Anyways." Hyejoo says, turning her head towards Gowon again. "Sunsets always remind me of you for one reason in particular."

"And why is that?" Chaewon asks back smiling and lowering her head just enough to be right in front of her.

"You're both so colorful and pretty. Inspiring and unique despite seeing it everyday like a routine, beautiful."

That was enough for Gowon to lower head down and catch Hyeju off guard for a second in a quick kiss, getting them both flustered but giggling like idiots.

"You're so adorable when you're like this you know that?" Chaewon asks, kissing her cheek before pulling her closer.

"Tell this to anyone and we're both dead meat."

"Sooyoung and Jinsoul would tear your whole existence apart, don't get me started on Jiwoo." Chawon giggles while Hyeju shudders. God forbid any of the ENFPs catch her like this and they'll never let her go.

"That reminds me, do you think the others are still on the beach?" Hyeju asks.

"Either that or wasted in the apartment and I don't feel like cleaning their mess today." You?" Gowon answers.

"Definitely not. The sun's gonna rise soon, and I was thinking of going to get some food together before we go fix whatever the girls did."

"Food? Sign me up girl." Gowon says excitedly kissing her again before getting up and pulling Hyeju with her.

The dog under them was still sleeping peacefully as they ran together towards the bike. Now that they thought about it, they could use some food. Smiling, they got back up appreciating the alone time they've had.

Checking her phone before going forward, Gowon sees some texts from Jinsoul.

"Oh they clearly got wasted." Hyeju says, seeing the screen from behind her.

"Hope not."

Opening it up they see some voice messages and starting a random one they were welcomed by the loud sound of Love Letter by Loona and what sounded like Jinsoul screaming the lyrics, vibing along to the melody.

"Guess we'll have to take some take out for them too." Gowon giggles receiving a quick kiss from Hyeju to shut her down.

"For the whole group, i think they're all tired and hungry, imagine their hangovers tomorrow."

"Tell me about it."

"I would but I'd rather talk about you."

"I'M TALKING 'BOUT YOU I'M TALKIN 'BOUT YOU-"

"Chaewon no-"

Notes:

To be honest the original inspiration for this little one shot wasn't Hyewon within itself, at least not fully. It first was inspired by me and my girlfriend, we made little Hyewon jokes for months, kinda becoming the Hyeju to my Gowon NAUR THATS SO SAPPY NAHHHH DJSJNCND anyways, a friend of mine suggested the idea of turning it into a hyewon shot and it actually turned out great.

(We broke up but she's still one of the best friends i've ever had so go Queen)

And i might make more, who knows.
