Summary
Looking back, it may have been a little naïve to think that proposing the moment the war was over would be a great idea. In his defense, he did actually think that it would be quite romantic. He had this picture in his head of the moment that the battle was over, where Byleth would run to him, leap into his arms. He would twirl her around and they would kiss oh so passionately because this was it! This was what they had been fighting for! After years of war, they’d finally won peace!
They’d pull apart to breathe and he’d breathlessly ask her to marry him. She’d stare at him, wide-eyed and awed, but she would nod with that smile that was so rare but oh so beautiful and kiss him again before he could even slip the ring on her finger. There would be clapping, maybe even a bit of cheering. It would have been great, right?
Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned.
