Alessia's Surprise

Summary:

tumblr prompt game "I would count this as a success."

Work Text:

Alessia couldn’t get her heart to stop pounding. This would be fine, she would be fine. Nothing would go wrong and she’d have fun with her little seer. She kept telling herself that as she stood in front of Delphia’s door waiting for her to come out. She just hoped Delphia liked her plans. When the small door finally moved she jumped. It was finally starting.

Delphia came out in a beautiful navy blue gown. Instead of her cloak she had a black shawl draped across her shoulders. It wasn’t the first time Alessia wished she could be the same height as her beautiful seer. It certainly wouldn’t be the last. Alessia held out her hand, blushing when Delphia shot her a brilliant smile. She hoped for once Delphia couldn’t hear her heartbeat.

“You look amazing. The red suits you,” Delphia said. Alessia felt her face flush. She was just wearing a simple red dress, it wasn’t anything compared to Delphia’s gown.

“I think you need to look in more mirrors, you look like a painting,” Alessia said. She was desperate to sound calm. She had been planning this for months, Delphia couldn’t see through her tonight. Her little seer laughed, the sound always something she wished she could hear forever. She brought Delphia close to her chest, holding her a bit further from her heart than normal.

“You know I can tell you’re nervous even if you try to hide your heart pounding. What’s going on? Where are we going?”

“You have to trust me, I’m going to use both hands ok?”

“As if I’d ever doubt you.”

She almost cried hearing that. She had to keep her eyes dry tonight. Her little seer put so much faith in her. She didn’t know if she deserved it. She slowly covered her with her other hand. She watched as her seer got comfortable before she was hidden from view. She couldn’t get over how lucky she was that someone like Delphia could trust and love her so much. She took a deep breath and then started off. She wanted to go to the human realm, but the garden here was better. She had some help to set this up here.

The door to the garden was already open. She’d made sure of that so Delphia couldn’t guess her surprise. She was quick to make her way attempting to dodge anything to make noise in. Slowly the lake came into view. It was always so beautiful at night, the moon and stars reflecting. She knew Delphia hated being too close to the water; this is what she was here for though. She found the small set up they’d made for her and raised her hands slowly.

As she pulled the one hiding Delphia free she giggled. Her little seer was already looking around. That curiosity was a treasure she truly adored. Delphia froze in her hand as she found the surprise. A small table and chair set up on a table with a small bookshelf just high enough she’d be a little taller than Alessia. When her seer turned to look at her she seemed close to tears, panic started to enter her mind. Delphia climbed off her hand and leaned over to look down at her. She motioned for Alessia to come closer.

“You’re amazing,” she said and kissed her forehead. Alessia smiled and bowed before looking up to those small green eyes.

“Only when it’s for you,” Alessia said. It was true, for her seer she’d do anything. She’d be anyone. Delphia laughed again before turning to walk away.

Alessia was a bit sad she wouldn’t spend the night with her close, but she wanted her to be happy. She returned to the edge and made a face Alessia had dreaded since the day they met. Delphia backed up from the edge then quickly ran leaping off. Alessia panicked quickly grabbing her out of the air before she could get hurt. She held her closely, trying to settle her racing heart. The part of her that embodied protection would struggle to let her go for the rest of the night. Everything was ruined.

“Did you think you get to do something like this and I wouldn’t do something crazy so you would keep me close? I grabbed three books first too. So where are we sitting while I read these to you?” Delphia smirked. She didn’t bother walking a glowing light consuming her and her seer quickly. They were in her room in seconds and the small girl placed on the pillow as Alessia laid next to her.

“So I’d say tonight was great wouldn’t you?” Delphia asked after a few hours. She’d wound up sitting on Alessia’s chest reading her books aloud.

Alessia pulled her seer close and hugged her to her cheek, “I would count this as a success.

“I wonder how much you’d need me to stay around if I had jumped in the lake?” Delphia’s laugh was covered by Alessia’s groan. She was going to lose her mind with Delphia, but she may not mind that.
