The smell of blood invaded his nose, it was one of fresh blood, nothing rotten or stale. Next, he made his ears stand and paid close attention to the surrounding sounds, after some effort he picked up on an erratic heartbeat, which came from the dragon. He was alive.
Unsure of what to do, he observed the dragon carefully. Some sun rays hit the clearing where the dragon laid and he observed how his black scales emitted a green colored reflection when the light reached them, creating a halo that gave the dragon a majestic mien.
