Summary
I had one purpose; to keep HYDRA’s best asset in line. Their violent and skilled puppet assassin known only as The Winter Soldier. The Fist of HYDRA.
HYDRA stole me because they wanted a new way to control him. In turn, they used him as a threat to keep me in line.
I shouldn’t have fallen in love with him but I did. I shouldn’t have left him behind but I did. I should have known that buried deep inside him was the man he had once been but I didn’t. I should have realized it was that man that broke through long enough to help me escape but I didn’t.
I put that part of my past behind me and I moved on. I didn’t want to fall in love again but I did. I fell in love with a man driven to do what was right. A man who was the embodiment of strength, protection and of the enduring spirit. A man out of time and haunted by what he had lost but trying to make the best of it.
I didn’t know that my past and my present were on a collision course but they were. I didn’t know that the only two men I had ever loved were intricately connected to one another. Now we have to navigate a complicated obstacle course of emotions.
