Work Text:
It was a normal day for Keigo. Wake up, work, go home, try to relax, sleep and repeat. Though tonight he couldn't for the life of him fall asleep. He felt troubled in a way; maybe trapped was a better word?
He was currently walking up the many stairs that lead to the roof of his apartment building. The building was pretty big as to accommodate for lots of people, mainly students in the area that needed a cheap place to rent.
Please kindly ignore the fact he's in his twenties. He wasn't good with money; his favourite fast food places were always advertised everywhere he looked.
Once he got to the last few stairs, he could already feel the slight breeze that came through the door to the roof, which confused him for a second as the door was usually shut, especially this late at night. It was tomorrow already!
Ignoring any worries he had, he walked through the door and closed it carefully as to not make lots of noise. He was aware that people were sleeping and many people in the building probably had to wake up early in the morning. What can he say? He's a considerate guy.
He turned around and began to head to the ledge that he sat on everytime he came up here, only to see someone already occupying the space.
He could only see the back of them as they were facing away, but he could make out that the person was probably around his age and looked to be male. What he thought to be black hair, that could actually just be brown hair that looks black because it's dark, and black clothing. The guy definitely seemed to like black.
He walked over quietly, only talking when he sat to the left them.
"Um...hi." Damn he was awkward.
The guy moved his head slightly in his direction, mainly using his eyes to look at him. Now that Keigo was sitting next to him, he could see a cigarette inbetween his middle and index fingers on his left hand. The hand moving to his mouth so he could inhale who knows what and retracts back to its place on his left, bent knee; his right hand behind him supporting the guys weight.
He was not gonna lie; the man looked incredibly attractive.
"Hi." The guy said. "You look confused?"
"Oh, no, I just...normally nobody's up here, especially this late. I always come up here for some fresh air, I've never seen you here before."
"Ah. Well, now you have" The man said with a small chuckle at the end and a side smile.
He tells himself that his insides didnt do a backflip at the gorgeous image.
"Yea...ahah. So...why are you up here?" He asks.
"Same reason as you really; just wanted some fresh air. It's peaceful up here, there's no worry or stress. Just me, the stars in the sky. Oh, and you now, I guess." He jokes at the end.
"Oh sorry! Am I ruining it for you? I can leave if you want."
"Nah dont worry, you seem like a chill guy. Your company could be nice."
"Oh, ok." So he sits there silently, looking up at the stars, letting the night time breeze hit his face. He'd be cold if it wasn't for his nice, fluffy jacket.
They sit there for sometime, until a question pops up in his head. He tries to shake it away but the curiosity gets the better of him.
