Work Text:
Hello?? This thing working? I hope it’s working.
Ahem. My name is Ms. Wayback, I’m a historian who lives in CyberCity, a Darkener city-state previously led by Queen Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N, or just Queen, as she prefers to go by.
Recently, we had a small group of Lightener children pass by, and many (not all) of the members of our society have since emigrated from the City to a nearby kingdom called Castle Town. Relations between the two kingdoms are going strong, even though Queen has relinquished her leadership positions to her Counsil (but we’ll get to that later).
As a result of this mass emigration, a great deal of history books and historical items have been left behind by their owners due to lack of interest…unfortunately.
The Lighteners, Castle Town inhabitants, and even the inhabitants of CyberCity have a severe lack of knowledge about not only the City’s history, but also the biology about the various Darkeners they now live amongst.
So that’s where I come in. I am here to supply a basic overview of CyberCity’s history, and the biology of it’s Darkener species.
For simplicity’s sake, I will be splitting this document into four categories.
CyberCity Society
Common Darkeners
Uncommon Darkeners (original species by the author)
Unique Darkeners of Note (original characters by the author lol)
So let’s not dawdle, and begin.
(P.s, please excuse my artistic quality, I’m a historian, not an artist)
Society
Simplifying the entire society of a city-state the size of the Cyber World is difficult, so I’ve split it into these subsections.
How do Dark Fountains Work
City History
Present-Day Culture
General Anatomy
I’ve done my best to organize all of the information in a way that is as concise as I could make it, but if any readers are still unsure about my wording, don’t be afraid to respond with questions (be reasonable guys) .
How do Dark Fountains Work?
Note-As a precursor to the history of the Cyber World, I imagine it would be important for the average reader to understand how exactly Dark Fountains and Dark Worlds work before going into the City’s history.
- Dark Fountains are stated to give the Dark Worlds their form by Prince Ralsei, but there are some problems with that wording
- The Darkeners clearly existed before Kris opened those fountains, they have backstories and lives that have no connection to the Lighteners at all. And they also reference dates from before the Lighteners were born.
- Closing the fountains apparently makes the Dark Worlds disappear, but if everything truly vanished, wouldn’t all the Darkeners from Card Kingdom have completely died during the 1 day period between the Eastern Fountain being sealed and Kris moving the items to Castle Town?
- If a Darkener isn’t recruited, are we supposed to believe that they just…stayed behind and died? That seems like something that wouldn’t just be written off if it were the case, considering the game’s themes.
- So for those reasons, I believe that Dark Fountains act as bridges between the two worlds, and don’t actually hold them together. The Fountains allow Lighteners to visit Darkeners, but because the threat of The Roaring looms overhead, these bridges must be closed afterwards.
- This would also explain why Lighteners suddenly stopped interacting with Darkeners, the thing that King Spade was so bitter about.
- Dark Worlds are not in different dimensions, but in different places, since Castle Town and Card Kingdom are directly connected, and characters from both Dark Worlds make references to the other. This would be impossible if they weren’t in the same plane.
- That big void that surrounds the Dark Worlds? That’s what gives them their form. They appear in accordance to a Lightener’s actions, and exist freely with or without Fountains there.
- Queen says that she wants Fountains to be open to expand her empire, and create new worlds, an imposibility because she’s just too stupid to realize that Fountains can’t be opened in Dark Worlds already, because they’re just bridges. Stupid Queen.
City’s History
- The area of CyberCity first came into existence in the 1940s…it was not a computer lab back then, those didn’t exist.
- It was a wild land of books, magazines, microfilm and typewriters. There were the fields to the south, the seashore to the east, and the mountainous forest to the north.
- Old species of Darkeners, based on books, microfilm, typewriters and ink roamed freely in a land without law or leadership. They are now extinct, or are simply no longer found in this specific Dark World.
- Some familiar species though, did live through this time, Plugboys and Werewires, Addisons, old versions of Swatchlings and the precursors to the Sweet Cap’n Cakes trio.
- The world, without Lighteners, was chaotic and wild. Darkeners were animalistic and lived as such before the Lighteners showed themselves. This period of time is known as the ‘Untamed Era’, and it lasted between 1940-1964. In this period of time, Maice, Tasques and Tasque Managers were born as well
-
.
- The end of this era is marked by the birth of our queen…no not Queen, our first leader, our first queen.
- Queen Enia, her name was.
- She was spawned into the world with a gift that the other Darkeners didn’t yet have. Intellect.
- She lived a solitary life alone in the mountaintops until the second important event of this Era occurred. The invasion of the Card Kingdom.
- The Card Kingdom was a neighboring kingdom to the southeast of the Cyber World, that was extremely prosperous at this time. It had four ruling kings, and even a direct connection to the Lighteners.
- Their kingdom was growing, and population was increasing, so they desired expansion. When they heard of an unconquered land filled with resources to the northwest, of course they desired to travel there.
- So they did. They annexed the Old Cyber World under the Card Kingdom’s name, and the old Cyber World became the, ahem “Oak Card District”, very lovely name.
- Drawn to the small settlements the Card Kingdom explorers had set up, Enia soon came into contact with King Spade, the youngest of the four kings, and the king that was prosiding mostly over the exploration of the new land.
- Enia proved her intelligence, and not having any previous connections to anyone, it shouldn’t be surprising that Enia was sucked into the Card Kingdom’s culture like dust in a vacuum.
- One thing led to another, and eventually Enia and the King were wed. And they were happy together.
- The United Era had begun.
- The first towns appeared at this time, growing and colonizing the Cyber World. It’s previously primitive inhabitants learned how to speak, and interact without violence. Agriculture, currency, economy, society itself began in this era.
- There was one problem though. Darkeners cannot exist in other Dark Worlds without turning to stone.
- Because of this, Queen Enia and King Spade could not live together. Spade was stuck in the Card Kingdom, and Enia was stuck in the Cyber World. It was a separate part of the country, that Enia presided over. This separation strained their marriage early on.
- Quick transportation between the two sections of the Kingdom were eventually forged in the form of old railways, kickstarting the ingrained presence that railways and rollercoasters have in Cyberian culture.
- And then the Lighteners left the Card Kingdom behind. And the Kings fell into despair. Enia was upset too.
- The bitterness gripped Spade’s heart, and in a fit of rage, he overthrew the other three kings, and established a tyrannical reign.
- Enia, filled with despair at the state her husband was in, made a tough decision, and left him, establishing the new solitary country of CyberCity without him.
- Things were prosperous, they had plenty of food, but very few types, and there was virtually no entertainment. The people weren’t happy. Friendships and relationships had been torn in half by Enia’s decision to separate ties with the Card Kingdom, and many of Enia’s people were unhappy. They had food, and jobs, and everything that Card Kingdom had, but nothing changed overtime, everything was monotonous.
- Time passed, and some new Darkener species appeared, but it was generally a dark time for the people of CyberCity.
- This time period is known as the Cyberian Cold Years.
- Things continued like this, with minimal expansion until 1971.
- 1971 is the year that the Algorithm came into existence, the digital system that expands the City’s size, and morphs it in response to Lighteners actions. It is also the system that spawns new Darkeners into the world.
- With its appearance, Queen Enia had an epiphany.
- Things were changing quickly. She was still pretty young, she’d only been ruling for three years, but she knew things couldn’t continue under her rule forever, not with the city changing and growing so quickly all of a sudden. The changes would outgrow her quickly.
- She knew she needed someone else to take her place. A successor was what she desired, but she was a robot, unable to have children.
- So, if she couldn’t birth a child, she decided she would build one instead.
- She dedicated the end of her reign towards the construction of the City’s new leader.
- And this leader that Enia created, is the present day Queen that we know.
- Once Queen was built, Enia raised her personally as a princess, embewing all of her knowledge of rulership into her creation.
- Queen accepted the knowledge happily, but Enia noticed early on that…Queen wasn’t exactly the calm, poised type like Enia herself was.
- She could rule, but she couldn’t do it alone the way Enia had. Enia supposed it makes sense, the City was much bigger than when Enia had first taken up the throne.
- So her solution was to appoint a Council to assist Queen in ruling the country, dubbed the O.S Council. It consists entirely of members of a rare and powerful species called Managers, creatures that love to work and lead others (Tasque Manager is one of them). Even though the Council only consists of Managers, not every Manager is a member of the Council.
- By 1983, Queen and the O.S. Council took over the position.
- Enia sadly passed away in 1986.
- The time period of Queen’s rule is known as the Modern Era, and it continues to this day.
Present-Day Culture
Cyber City functions very similar to a modern Supercity like the Lightener New York or Las Vegas, so most things function the same, here is a general overview of main differences.
- Economy
- Businesses are the backbone of the city, if it weren’t for all of the businesses that Addisons own, the City’s money wouldn’t cycle, and people would struggle to keep their things.
- People’s livelihoods would collapse without monetary circulation.
- The economy is very healthy, because the sheer amount of products being sold is always going up whenever new Addisons are spawned.
- Roles & Career
- It’s a society that’s quite similar to the society of Steven Universe, except it is far less strict. It’s only similar in the sense that specific species each fill a roll, commonplace in Darkener societies.
- We each have an instinctive desire to fill a role based on our species.
- Addisons are drawn to business.
- Ambyu-Lances are drawn to healthcare
- Swatchlings are drawn to servicing
- The list goes on
- This instinct to fill a certain specific roll in service to Lighteners, and to each other, is fulfilling to us. Sometimes though, it isn’t uncommon for a Darkener of one species to do the job of another species for some reason or another, and this is typically accepted without issue.
- Population & Housing
- Because the Internet grows so massively, there is quite the overpopulation issue in CyberCity.
- In order to maximize use from the space, there are homes everywhere. Built into the walls right next to the roads.
- These massive buildings, covered in blue doors are called Complexes, which have an average of 500 homes in them. Really small ones have around 25 homes.
- These homes are almost always single-room units, because people generally live alone or with a romantic partner. There is often space for pets as well, more so than the average Lightener home, and many of these units have a “Pet Room”.
- Birth & Parenthood
- One thing that is a little bit more controversial about CyberCity is its approach to parenthood. It is a society with a big focus on romantic connections, but less so familial ones, sadly.
- Every Darkener has a line in their code called their ‘Genetic Code’ (lol). It’s a series of numbers, letters and symbols, and any Darkener with a matching code is considered a relative.
- When a Darkener is spawned by the Algorithm, it appears in a random spot in the Cyber World.
- They are spawned in a state that is equivalent to a 3-month old human.
- If any Darkener comes across the baby, they are required by law to take the child to the nearest Ambyu-Lance, where their Genetic Code can be checked and registered.
- If there’s already someone with a matching code that is an adult (18+), that Darkener is deemed the parent of the child, and they receive funding from the government until the child is an adult themselves.
- If there is a match that is under 18, they are considered siblings, not parents.
- If there is no match, the child is to be adopted by someone who will take them in. Swatchlings are the most likely species to adopt another baby.
- Babies that are born biologically by two parents are allowed, but there is a limit to the amount of children each woman can have, because of the sheer population size. Each partner is limited to one pregnancy cycle, since some species have multiple babies each time they are pregnant.
- Thankfully, in order to combat unwanted or illegal pregnancies, program blockers that inhibit the reproductive systems of Darkeners were invented long ago to act as effective birth control
- Darkeners are not deemed legal adults until 18, but they do begin work at 16. Smoking and drinking are legal at 18, driving is legal at 16, sex is legal at 18.
- Darkeners that fall under the category of ‘Pet’, like Tasques and Fyrefoxes have spay and neuter programs.
- Transportation
- It’s mentioned in Chapter 2 that the only form of Public transport in CyberCity is it’s rollercoaster systems. Some of them aren’t finished, but several of them are.
- The one we ride on during Berdly’s bossfight is a bobsled style coaster, which is actually pretty good for transport because it’s a smoother ride.
- Since the rollercoasters aren’t meant to entertain, they are smooth rides without loops or anything crazy like that.
- Coasters can fit three people in them.
- A user can either pay the fee to ride or get a pass to ride, similar to a subway pass.
- Before entering their coaster, the user highlights the route they’re taking on a touchscreen, and the track adjusts the same way a train track does, to ensure the rider goes the correct way.
- As for private transport, there’s plenty of cars.
- One person of note, an Addison named Spamton, is responsible for the invention of Darkener cars in the year 1997, and only a handful of other Darkeners have been able to continue their development after the poor Addison’s mysterious disappearance in 2005. Big respects to him from me.
- Most people have cars, but there is still a pretty big pedestrian community.
- Geography
The general geography of the Cyber World is as follows.
- City in the center.
- It’s made mostly of black and blue stone. This stone comes from a mine in the northern half of the City called the DataMine.
- Cyber Fields to the south.
- It has no plantlife. It’s all open earth with solid green ground. It has lights in it, which leads some to believe that the ground itself is charged.
- It is called countryside, which contrary to popular belief, doesn’t mean that crops are grown there, it’s just rural area outside a city.
- Usually the rich live here, because the views are to die for (they are).
- Cyber Cliffs to the southwest.
- These cliffs are made of the same material as the fields, but are scaling cliffsides instead of flat terrace hills.
- These cliffs are very out of the way, and are cracked and chipping from disuse.
- One of the most noteworthy thing about these cliffs is the incredible number of Control Cables there. Even Queen doesn’t know why they’re there.
- As a result, these cliffs are often used as military training grounds, because they’re out of the way, are harsh to navigate through, and are filled with cables that strengthen the Plugboys stationed there.
- Deep Web to the east.
- An ocean area, the water is actually freshwater, not saltwater.
- It’s quite large, large enough to reach the edge of the Cyber World, and fall off into the void.
- The water is not clear, it’s bright purple. It’s actually based on the typical ‘Vaporwave Beach’ trope.
- The sands on the beach are black, with specs of neon crystals hidden in them.
- There’s plant life here, grasses and palm trees. They have black bark and brightly colored leaves.
- The coconuts are adored, and their milk is sold in lieu of normal milk, since we don’t have cattle. The coconut water is delicious too.
- Phish and Poppups inhabit the waters here.
- Obviously, it’s based off the Deep Web, which means the waters contain a lot of unused code in it, it’s very healthy to drink.
- Wire-Root Forest to the north
- A forest of tall trees with thick cable-like trunks and branches.
- A variety of trees live here, but the way trees grow in Cyber World is based on wires.
- There are a lot of wild Darkeners living here, so only rough and tumble people are prone to visit.
- Agriculture is mostly done here.
- It’s based on the tangle of wires in the dark closet.
- Breaker Mountain to the further north
- A tall mountain obscured by darkness.
- It’s not a proper mountain, it’s more like a giant jenga tower of square shapes.
- It’s super dangerous, because it’s dark, and there’s a lot of dangerous Darkeners there.
- There are ‘light up points’ littering the mountain-face, where small villages are located. People who don’t like Queen tend to escape to those villages to live away from her rule.
- There’s no exact number for the amount of villages on Breaker Mountain because we’ve never explored the opposite side of the mountain.
- Despite the mountain always technically being in view, most don’t know it exists.
- It’s based off of the Breaker Room connected to the Computer Lab
- I should also mention that we have no sun here, we have a moon instead.
- It looks a little different than the Lightener moon, but it acts as our sun, and is even risen and set by one of the Mansion Dwellers.
- Government
- Queen has always been in charge, yes, but I think many of us can agree that she’s not actually…that good of a ruler?
- Queen is..er, was more of a figurehead than an actual ruler, most of the duties of actually ruling the City go to a group known as the O.S. Counsil, who now rule on their own.
- It’s members serve in a way similar to the Cabinet the U.S. government has, where each member has a designated aspect of the government they are in charge of.
- They serve for life, unless there is a vote for rotation.
- A rotation has yet to occur.
- The current members are based on and in charge of
- Task Manager (not Tasque Manager) - Productivity, Trade & Economy
- Zip Opener- Population & Residential Care
- Microsoft Security Essentials - Military & Defense
- Recycling Bin - Laws & Court Punishments
- MalwareBytes - Healthcare & Medicine
- Google Chrome - Acting Figurehead (Queen’s replacement)
- Google Drive - Record Keeping
- Bitwarden - Foreign Affairs
- TreeSize - City Expansion
- While the O.S Council are the ones that keep the City together, there are plenty of other programs that also have very important roles. These Darkeners are the ones that mostly inhabit the Mansion, earning them the name Mansion Dwellers.
We’ll go into detail about the current Mansion Dwellers, the O.S Counsil Members, and other people of note later on in another document.
- Laws and Law Enforcement
- Many of the laws from present day America exist here, and most of them aren’t important.
- Some unique laws include
- Excess sick days must be granted to working Virovirokuns
- Poppups cannot be ridden on without a license
- Guns cannot be sold or owned without a license
- Controlling a Plugboy using a Control Cable is extremely punishable by law unless it is done by the government during emergency situations like war
- Maice cannot be killed when dispatching them from homes or buildings
- Tasques cannot be fostered or adopted out if they haven’t passed a Maus aggression test
- Fyrefoxes and BaTokens cannot be ridden on in the air without a permit
- Poppups cannot be brought into the Mansion
- Poppups cannot be ridden on in the water in residential swimming areas
- Curpents cannot be fed Maice or Swatchling eggs
- BaToken owners must have a badge visibly on their clothing when their BaToken is with them as proof of ownership
- Homeless must be given the opportunity to prove their citizenship before being arrested for loitering
- There’s several more.
- The thing of note though, is the law enforcement side of things.
- Ambyu-Lances work as medical professionals, but they work as police officers too.
- There is a penitentiary in Cyber City, only one, but it is there
- One member of the O.S. Counsil, Recibi, is the one who acts as the Judge for every trial that goes on.
- She’s also responsible for sentences.
- One thing that Darkeners really dislike, is the fact that Recibi supports capital punishment and torture, like..really bad.
- There’s no actual proof or records that such violence occurs, but everyone believes that it does, because of the injuries and traumas that criminals are released from prison with, and how panicked and deflective they become when questioned on it
- Recibi is a scary scary woman, but a lot of people are too afraid to stand up to her openly
- Entertainment and Music
- We are a society built on entertainment. Everything from carnivals to theaters, beaches and E-Sport Arcades, Art Galleries, Magic Shows and so much more. (I love living here)
- In terms of the City’s music tastes, we’ve got a lot of 8-bit stuff, Chiptune, EDM, Vaporwave, House, Chillstep and Dubstep, Drum and Bass, etc etc general Techno music.
- Three robotic Darkeners who were previously high class Mansion Dwellers named Sweet, Cap’n and K_K, used to run the sound system that plays music throughout the city, nowadays, it’s just Queen’s mixtape. A shame, those three had some excellent sound quality.
- Agriculture and Food
- Most agriculture occurs in the Wire-Root Forest
- Some of the foods we grow are
- Apples (like the phone brand)
- Applets, small fruits that taste like other fruits depending on their color, especially strawberries and watermelons, but are shaped like apples
- BlackBerries (like the other phone brand)
- Various nuts like Pnuts, Cachews (caches), RGB Rice, and Altmonds (ALMOND MILK)
- Lettuce (they’re used in Giga Salads)
- Dark Candies
- Cds (Seeds)
- Wirecane (sugarcane!!)
- Cacao (there’s chocolate in Java Cookies)
- Coffebeans (there’s coffee in Java Cookies too)
- There’s no grapes in CyberCity, so we don’t have wine, we have..ButJuice, it’s made of fermented BlackBerries instead of grapes.
- Pixel Corn (we use it to make all sorts of things like corn syrup and popcorn)
- Coconuts from our Palm Trees
- WireFrame Noodles (we use them for spaghetti, actual spaghetti, not SpaghettiCode, SpaghettiCode is a dessert) Yes, we grow noodles on trees.
- Vanilla (you need vanilla to make Macarons)
- Tea Leaves (there’s dozens and dozens of different types)
- We also grow tobacco plants for cigarettes, and we harvest bark from trees to make paper.
- Honeys and syrups are made from saps and flowers that come from trees (especially Dark Candy Trees) and bushes, we love them here.
- Flowers are often grown for medicine, but they aren’t the same species as Lightener flowers
- Grains like Bits and Bytes, Wheatspace (play on white space) and FiberOptics, are used to make Threads (breads).
- These foods that we grow are some of the most important ones, because we use them to make all sorts of other foods like salads, macarons and cakes, Cookies, sauces, coffee, and so much more.
- As for the other side of things, there are a lot of meat products in CyberCity.
- The unfortunate consequence of every creature in the entire Cyber World being Darkeners, is that in some cases, Darkeners do eat certain species of other Darkeners themselves.
- We are as considerate as we can be, and only eat animal Darkeners
- Some of our meat and dairy products include
- The five categories of phish are
- Clonephish (Normal fish meat)
- Voicephish (Jellyfish meat)
- Textphish (Eel meat)
- Spearphish (Ray meat)
- E-Whales (Whale meat)
- Almost all dairy products come from Coconut Milk instead of cow’s milk, since we don’t have cows that we can milk.
- Cheese, yogurt, ice cream, cream and butter are all made from Coconut Milk.
- We do not have goats or cattle, but we do have RAMS, large rams that we do use for veal and other meats.
- We also have ROMS, which are similar to RAMS, just smaller.
- Tasque meat and Fyrefox meats are common, but they are not farmed for their meat. Their meat is harvested upon death.
- This meat goes through several cleaning processes to remove any viruses, chemicals and contaminants that could affect it.
- Tasque meat generally serves as CyberCity’s pork replacement, since the taste is similar, just with a slightly sour aftertaste that can easily be ignored.
- Hot-Cats, Tasque Burgers, and other products made from Tasque meat are common.
- Fyrefox meat is seen as generally unpleasant to eat, because of its rubbery texture, but it is eaten.
- We have poultry and eggs as well, coming from a species of Darkener called Thunderbirds, small bluebirds, and we use them in lieu of pigs to make bacon.
- Thunderbird eggs are basically the same as chicken eggs, just a little bit smaller.
- The birds themselves are also the same size as chickens.
- Cyber City has more of a focus on seafood than any other type of meat.
- We have Phish as our primary source of seafood.
- The Clonephish is the most commonly eaten of the five phish categories, but all five are eaten regularly.
- We also have plenty of clams, oysters, shrimp, crabs and lobsters. One of the favorites is a type of clam called Pipis, which is especially loved by Addisons when deep-fried, because of its salty taste and egg-like texture.
- We also have Clonephish caviar.
- We have Smails, a type of snail that we eat, we love to put them in pies
- We eat BaToken, a rare type of large megabat, that is used in stews across the City on important holidays as a delicacy.
- Curpents (snakes) and Geckoz (lizards), are also eaten, and their eggs are eaten too. Though it is advised that these eggs are bigger and much more rich, leading them to be more expensive.
- So between all of the meat, vegetables and fruits, we are able to replicate most lightner meals through our own means. (If you want my two cents, fried Thunderbird meat is heavenly)
- This isn’t all of the food either, but this is all of the stuff that you’ll see most people using
- We have plenty of specific recipes and such in our City, walk up to anyone in town and they’ll give you a tip or two on what to make and how to make it using these ingredients.
- Education
- Education in this city is admittedly, lackluster.
- Most Darkeners are born with a line in their Genetic Code called their Career Code, that dictates what they will gravitate towards in terms of career.
- There is a public education system, but it isn’t as intrinsic as other societies.
- Students are taught general information like history, math, linguistics and finance management for 8 years, and then they are given private tutoring by members of the profession that is listed in that line in their code.
- By age 16, they are ready to pursue their job.
- If a person has an error in the career line of code, or if the profession is impossible to pursue, the Darkener is generally considered disabled.
- It’s crippling because it inhibits the Darkener from doing their purpose as a Darkener, serving Lighteners in a specific way through talents.
- People with this inability to serve are closely watched, since they are subject to higher levels of depression.
- Many of them are cared for their entire lives, because they cannot support themselves.
- College does not exist, we receive certifications of achievement from our tutors once we’ve finished our tutoring, and the information from it is added to our resume.
- Languages and Values
- Serving your government when possible
- Being active in society
- Living with a romantic partner
- Incorporating fun into your job
- Being casual with governmental leaders
- Recognition of achievements, despite your past
- Value of morality
- Living independently of Lighteners
- Staying true to the traditions and customs of your individual species
- Be not hateful or judgemental to others
- Be generous when others need you
- English is the primary language of the Cyber World, Japanese is second.
- It is common for many many accents and other languages to be spoken however, because of the Plugboy and Werewire population (you’ll get context about that later on)
- The people raised by them, whether adopted or not, spread the accents and languages around.
- As for values, the people of the Cyber World value
- Oh! One last thing. People who live in CyberCity are called Cyberians
- Military
- CyberCity has never gone to war before, but we do have a military.
- It’s small, and is made up of magically talented individuals.
- Ambyu-Lances are the primary body of the military, but many of them work as Police Force instead.
- Werewires are also common fighters due to their strength.
- Poppups are trained for aquatic combat
- Thunderbirds and BaTokens are used for aerial espionage
- Tasques and Fyrefoxes are trained as fighters too, but Fyrefoxes can also be ridden on in the air.
- We don’t have planes in CyberCity, so we have our aerial fighters drop heavy objects or explosives on our enemies instead.
- We also have what’s known as a militia, a force of citizen fighters that we call upon in times of need.
- Addisons, Virovirokuns, Plugboys especially, the works. Darkeners all across the City all join together at this time.
- Or at least, they would in theory, but thankfully, that’s never been necessary before.
General Anatomy
- Lighteners are comprised of Cells. These cells have different functions and allow the Lightener to live. Darkeners of other Kingdoms are the same way, as they are completely organic.
- But for some reason, the Darkeners of CyberCity, despite being mostly organic in nature, are not comprised of cells.
- We are made of something similar, Code Particles.
- These Code Particles act as cells, they do all the same things that cells do, and keep us alive, just like Lighteners.
- However, unlike cells, the bonds between Code Particles do not hold together after death.
- Our SOULS act as motors, sources of energy that supply our bodies with Code Particles and keep our physical forms together. When we die, our SOULS shatter, and no more Code Particles are supplied, so we fall apart into nothingness. We don’t even leave dust behind, just piles of clothes if we were wearing any.
- The code that makes us up is then recycled by the Algorithm, and used to build new Darkeners.
- Our current theory as to why Cyber World’s Darkeners are made up this way, is that it is a system of recycling energy to keep the Cyber World together done by the Algorithm. It definitely works if that is the case.
Well goodness, that was already quite a lot. Again, if there are any questions my readers have about certain bullet points, please respond in a respectful manner, and I’ll do my best to respond.
This is Ms. Wayback, signing off for today.
