Maia’s fingers trailed across Isabelle’s skin, tracing the black lines of her runes. When she’d first joined the Downworld, Maia had found Shadowhunters off-putting. It was only recently that she’d gained an appreciation for runes, particularly on Isabelle.
Her girlfriend shivered beneath her touch, and Maia smirked up at her. “What is it?” she asked.
Isabelle tried to glare. “You know what you’re doing,” she accused.
Maia smirked and leaned down to press a kiss to the same rune she’d been tracing. Isabelle let out a shaky laugh, her fingers finding Maia’s hair and brushing it back from her face.
