As the notes say, I work as a bridal stylist now and am craving seeing some of my fave characters in wedding dresses :p

If you want to support my writing and see a twice as long, smut version of this fic, and see stuff I post early, check out my Tumblr. Check out the pinned post ;D It'd be awesome if I could start writing full time again and any support helps get me closer to doing that! <3

Work Text:

There were plenty of times in Dipper’s life when he had been nervous. In fact, most people only ever saw him as a nervous omega that could hardly speak without stuttering unless he was talking about some nerdy thing. His passion for that sort of stuff saved him from tripping over his words in a way that most people found to be annoying.

After high school, he went to work at a lab where the only people he ever needed to talk to were other nerds that never seemed to mind that he could go on forever; mostly because they could too.

Working with evidence from crime scenes was also pretty interesting, so that was a plus outside of getting along with his coworkers.

One benefit that he never expected from the job, though, was meeting a police officer alpha that took his breath away the first time he laid eyes on him. Bill Cipher, a detective that joked about being good at the job only because he thinks like a criminal. He told Dipper, after several dates, that the only reason he became a cop and not some evil mastermind was because he liked showing criminals that he was smarter than them.

But really, the alpha could’ve done anything with his life. Bill had the looks of a god. Muscular, tall, tan skin over an angular bone structure that could cut a diamond. Any alpha big and handsome like him could have any job they wanted. And any omega.

And yet, Bill chose to be a detective and chose Dipper to be the omega that he wanted to mark and marry. They hadn’t done the marking yet, that would come at the honeymoon, but Dipper still felt deeply connected to Bill. The two of them were so different and yet so similar, almost like the two of them were meant to learn from each other while still being in the comfort of a kindred soul.

It was cheesy to think like that, but looking at himself in the mirror, dolled up in his wedding dress, it was hard not to think about stuff like that.

His usually short, curly hair was long enough to be tied up in a way that allowed for his gold and sapphire crown to be tied into it with ease. It matched nicely with his gown, a less traditional mullet ball gown with a collar and no sleeves to make the top look a little more like the front of a suit.

A lot of omegas went with simple, more feminine gowns, but he didn’t feel like any other neckline worked for him. That and Bill had bought him a beautiful pendant that was blue with constellations on it, and he wanted to show it off. A deep V-neck was perfect for that.

“Knock-knock,” a familiar voice rang, making Dipper turn away from the mirror.

“B-Bill!? Don’t you dare come in! It’s bad luck to see me right now!” Dipper grabbed the robe he had been wearing before, fumbling to pull it over his torso as if it would somehow hide all of him.

The blond came into the room anyway, though he had a tie wrapped around his blue eyes. It looked pretty tightly tied, too, which made Dipper relax a little.

“What the hell are you doing in here? I love you, but this had better be good!” Dipper stood up and tossed the robe down onto the seat, marching over to Bill. His heels clicked on the marble flooring as he walked, hopefully showing how mad he was that Bill had almost cursed them to bad luck.

Not that he really believed in that crap. It was just better not to chance something like that.

“I just really wanted to see- Er, well, not see you, but I wanted to make sure you were alright. You know how us alphas are. If I’m away from you for too long I feel like punching a wall.” Bill opened his arms, smiling from ear to ear while he waited for a hug.

Dipper crossed his arms and tapped his foot, looking the other up and down. “I get that, Bill, I really do, but you know how this works. We practiced and everything. If we don’t keep to the weird schedule this expensive place has, they’re going to get upset with us.”

Bill snorted, shoving his hands into the pockets of his slacks. “Oh yeah? What’re they gonna do? Yell at me? Dipper, I’m a big ass alpha and a cop, they can try to fight me. If they upset you at all in any way, I’ll also kick their asses. So we should be just fine. Besides, we paid a pretty penny for this place, we should be able to do what we want.”

“Fine, you can have a moment to take in some of my scent, but then you should go. How the hell did you even find your way in here like that?” He stepped forward, holding his wrist out so that Bill could get his fill until they would meet at the altar.

“Oh, Mabel did this,” he laughed as he pointed to his face. “She yelled at me too about seeing you, but then the hopeless romantic in her got the best of her and she helped me figure something out.” Bill held out his hand and Dipper placed his in it for him. The alpha brought it to his face then took in several, long deep breaths, his nose pressed right against the scent gland there.

A deep, relaxed breath came from Dipper and he closed his eyes for a moment, leaning into the touch. Even though he was mad moments before, he had also been missing Bill, and seeing him before they were to be married calmed him quite a bit.

There was no question that Bill was the alpha for him, though Dipper had still been feeling pretty nervous about the entire day. Having a moment of peace with just the two of them helped more than he would want to admit out loud.

“Are you sure you’re feeling okay? I’m sure if you need a little longer it won’t be too big of an issue to make people wait.” Bill smiled at Dipper, and though he couldn’t see the alpha’s eyes, Dipper knew that they held concern for him.

The slight scent of distress was no doubt mingled in with his natural scent, which his alpha would, of course, react to.

“I’m feeling okay, really. This day is just…” Dipper paused, trying to find the right word.

“A lot?” Bill laughed. “I know. But after all this, just you and me will be off to have a nice honeymoon.” He softly kissed Dipper’s wrist, bringing him closer so that he could fully embrace him. “We’ll be able to relax then be as loud as we want to be.” The alpha chuckled in a suggestive way and Dipper playfully smacked his shoulder.

“That’s always on your mind, isn’t it?” Dipper snorted.

Bill hummed, mashing his face against the crook of Dipper’s neck to take in more of his scent. “With an omega like you? Yes. You’re perfect for me in every way. Not just physically, but I sorta like the brain attached to those sexy legs of yours.”

“You’d better,” Dipper laughed. “And I guess I sorta like the brain attached to these big alpha muscles.” He gave Bill’s arm a few pats, happily feeling up the muscles police work had given him. “You should probably head back out there soon, though. I’m pretty sure everything is going to start soon.”

A loud sigh came from the alpha as he pulled back, his hands lingering on Dipper’s sides. “I know. I just really wanted to come and see you before we have to be in front of people.”

“And I appreciate you coming to comfort me. You always seem to know when I need it.” He pulled Bill down for a kiss, not letting the alpha go until they were both a bit breathless. “We can have plenty more alone time later, for now, we need to show our love to our friends and family.”

Bill blew a half-hearted raspberry but did finally pull away. “Fine, I’ll leave my omega alone to finish getting ready,” he sighed dramatically. “Just promise me you’ll hurry down the aisle back to me, okay?”

Dipper smiled, helping Bill over to the door so that he could finally take the blindfold off once he was out of the room. The alpha looked like he wanted to stay so badly, to hold him and carry him down the aisle himself just so that they could continue to be close. Having someone who cared so much about him and wanted to spend every second with him warmed Dipper’s heart, melting away any bit of nerves he had left about marrying the alpha.

Bill was the one for him and no amount of wedding stage fright could keep him from saying “I do”.

“Don’t you worry, Bill. For you, I’ll run in these heels.”
