It's Halloween night, Mark and Eduardo spent some time at home by watching horror movies with Jon and Todd until it got dark and people were bustling. Now they were coming home from a halloween party at a bar, thankfully they didn't get too drunk, just a little tipsy.
*marks pov*
"Who says we're too old for trick r treating? Like geez Eduardo, you really gotta let that inner child out sometimes" I chuckled as we walked down a dirt road that's surrounded by thick woods that didn't let any light from the moon through, I'm dressed up as Frankenstein's monster and Eduardo is dressed up as a serial killer with a chainsaw and a Jason mask. Edy frowned. However instead of a fake chainsaw this numbskull thought it would be funny to bring a real one.
"There's a rabbit"
"WHERE?!" I jump into his arms, looking around for the horrendous creature, just to hear him chuckling and realized there were no bunnies to be seen.
"That's a fucking dick move, you jerk" I climb out of his arms and is now standing again.
"But it was funny huh?"
"Yeah yeah whatever you say ripoff Jason Voorhees"
*Eduardo's pov*
Me and Mark continue walking, I kept making jokes about the other's silly fear of rabbits. Supposedly their fear comes from when they watched that Wallace and Gromit movie where Wallace turns himself into a were-rabbit some years back.
I make a joke at how were-animals are silly and Mark grumbles at this, something about how stupid I am for denying the existence of were-rabbits lmao.
Suddenly something was heard beside us in the woods, our interest has been peaked. Mark walked up to where the sound was coming from and I hesitantly followed behind, starting to get scared as we have watched slasher films just some hours back. But what am i going to do? Just admit it? Hell no!.
"H-hey uh, maybe we should just head home mark" I mumbled, placing and hand on their back as we neared the trees.
"What are ya, chicken?" They smirked, too focused on the sound to look back at me
"Says the one that jumped into my arms when i said there was a rabbit nearby" this guy makes literally no sense sometimes.
"Shh, do you see that? I'll turn on you're phone's flashlight because i fucking forgot mine at home" they muttered as I was silenced by their hand, I forced my eyes to focus to see a looming figure in the distance. They grab my phone and turned the light on, it didn't reach far but far enough so we could get an idea of who or what was over there. It was a tall and...very hairy thing that resembles a canine.
"Is that a do-" I was cut off by a horrific roar from whatever it it before it charged for us.
"RUN!"
*third pov*
Mark and Eduardo bolted, they did just fine walking in the dark but now need the light from Eduardo's phone so to not trip.
Unfortunately for Mark they are shorter and slower the Eduardo, so the monster was catching up to them.
Suddenly there was a scream, one full of pain and fear. It got them, the beast got them. Eduardo turned, the light suddenly gone in a useless direction but is able to see that the thing is mauling Mark's left arm, he revs his chainsaw which gets the creature's attention.
"HOW ABOUT YOU COME AT SOMEONE MORE YOUR SIZE BITCH!" Eduardo shouted before running towards it as he also started the chainsaw. He swung, slashing it's face at the eye which surprisingly scared it off.
"YOU'RE PATHETIC!" Edy insulted before turning his attention to his partner, who is crying and clutching their arm that from what he could see was a gorefest of meat and bone, they whimpered out-
"I-i'm going to die Edy, I'm going to die"
He didn't know what to say as he used part of his button up shirt to wrap the arm until they can rush home to call for an ambulance.
"You...you're not going to die, I'll make sure of it" Eduardo grabs his phone that through straining his eyes can see the phone screen is cracked and it wouldn't turn on, which means until they get to their neighborhood or a patch of openness they'll be in darkness with the thing still out there.
"Can you walk?"
"I dunno, my legs feel shaky"
Eduardo lifted his beloved bridal style, apologizing genuinely when Mark cried out in pain, then began to jog.
