It was a generally warm day in liyue, the city streets was live with people, the soft wind in the air adding to the feeling
Childe wanted to take a small walk through the city, taking in the scenery.
He passed the local shops and took his stop in front of the Funeral Parlor, waiting for the tall elegant man that he has been sharing his time with for what seems like forever, he can’t help but fawn over the deep orange eyed man.
The sound of a door opening snapped him from his thoughts and it was Zhongli standing right in front of him
“hello Ajax? You seemed to be spacing out dear” he laughed lightly while childes face started heating up but he wouldn’t admit that.
Zhongli grabbed Childe lightly by the wrist, “cmon we have the whole day ahead of us!”
It has been a couple hours since they set off and clouds had started forming by then, giving the outside a blue and gloomy feel.
Childe and Zhongli had been eating lunch with each other for the time being with the occasional dialogue from Zhongli either about his experiences or some adeptal fact
Childe listened he always did because everything said from Zhonglis mouth was always interesting and he would listen to him for hours
He stared deep into Zhonglis eyes, he loves the man’s eyes, during any situation they would always be able to calm him.
They started finishing up they’re Meals and went to pay (which was just childe paying).
They walked out of the restaurant, laughing and smiling at each other while walking to they’re apartment
But soon enough rain started pouring from the sky. It wasn’t light rain at all it was a hard shower
It startled childe, he should have sensed it earlier, but now with his soaked clothes and wet hair he can’t sense anything.
Until a warm hand placed itself on his back, a lovely sensation with most recent events.
Childe turned around and Zhongli stood there behind him, with wet hair that had started glowing and slightly damp clothing
“I’m sorry for not thinking ahead and not grabbing an umbrella dear..” zhongli had said to childe.
Childe shook his head “It’s fine I didn’t think about it either” they both chuckled to each other but the moment died down when the rain somehow started coming down harder and they both took the sign and started sprinting down to they’re apartment. Sadly childes luck just isn’t good today and he tripped on a step of liyue harbor, falling face first into the ground, Zhongli immediately took action “are you ok ajax?” He spoke while helping Childe up from the wet floor. “Yes I’m zhongli” he grumbles slightly while taking Zhonglis help up but not expecting Zhongli to fully pick him up bridal style and putting his coat over him while running to the apartment.
Zhongli unlocked the front door of the apartment and took of his formal shoes and childes boots off, he went into the bathroom Turning on the lights and setting childe on the counter.
He turns on the bath to warm and adds on some bath salts, turning around he notices Childe taking of his clothes already, he starts on himself and once both done he goes and grabs childe and places him in the bath and setting himself behind him, wrapping his arms around childe and snuggling his head in the crook of childes neck. They sit there for a long time of the night just taking in eachothers embrace and staying warm in the bath but Zhongli soon finds the water to be a little colder than his taste so he raises up to dry himself off quickly and grabs childe up to the counter again to dry the man off with a fresh towel, giving him small kisses on his face and arms while doing it.
He dresses himself in a casual shirt and shorts and places the same in childe. He slowly places childe on they’re shared bed, covering him up with they’re blankets and joining him in bed, he loved childes warmth and wanted to always keep him warm, and he wouldn’t mind staying like this forever and slightly thanks the rain…
Until childe starts sneezing.
