Chapter Text
Obi-Wan can’t pull us up. Dread coiled in her stomach at the realization.
He wasn’t strong enough, even with the force. He was damn sure trying though.
Alex glanced down at everyone below her, 5 fully kitted troopers. She looked back up and went over her dilemma.
She could slow their fall, but it’d very likely give her force exhaustion and without proper rest the force exhaustion could kill her.
She worried her lower lip between her teeth, they couldn’t hang here much longer either. They hadn’t been spotted yet, but luck only lasted so long.
Mind mostly made up, Alex switched to a comm channel with Cody. She looked down at him, “Do you trust me?”
“Of course-“
Alex shook her head, “I don’t want blind faith Cody.”
Silence.
“I trust you.”
She steeled her nerves and looked back up, “I have to cut the line. I can slow everyone’s fall, but not completely. They need to hold on to each other, it’s easier.”
“It’s not going to be a smooth landing.” He summarized. “Ok, I’ll tell everyone else to be ready.”
Alex nodded, mostly to herself. She switched back to comms with the leadership between both battalions.
“You can’t pull us up Obi-Wan. I have to cut the line.”
There was immediate objection from Anakin surprisingly. “You’ll have no protection if you survive the fall, just give me a second and I can help pull you up.”
She shook her head even though he couldn’t see it, “we can’t stay hanging that long.”
“Padawan please.” Obi-Wan pleaded. His eyes hurt her the most. “I can’t tell your mother.”
Alex offered him a smile, despite the fear tightening its grip around her. “3 days master.”
She pulled out a knife as Anakin’s head popped over the cliff edge.
“Just trust me.” Alex closed her eyes and breathed in, then out before opening her eyes, “please.”
Snap!
