Work Text:

"i feel so empty, wooyoung."

"eww, hwa. don't whine it like that, you make it sound like you want me to fuck you."

"oh, piss off, you know that's not what i meant!"

wooyoung laughed, walking over to the couch to kiss his boyfriend on the forehead before scampering back into the kitchen— because he could not leave this frying pan unattended or something terrible could happen. not that anything terrible had ever happened while he cooked, but there was always the possibility. and seonghwa would murder him and drain all the blood from is body in 5 seconds flat if he made any sort of mess.

so, yeah. wooyoung had to be careful in the kitchen.

"really, though, do you feel okay? i mean i know you're literally undead but... i haven't done anything to them, i could put them back in you if you want?" wooyoung asked, holding up the heart and liver that he'd put on a cutting board not too long ago. he may have taken a bite of seonghwa's liver already but, whatever. he was hungry and curious. and it's not like seonghwa even needed it!

"no, no, that'd be gross, you're literally drooling over them. it just feels... weird. empty, like i said," the vampire sighed, gesturing to his torso which had previously been ripped open. it healed in under five minutes, though, so there was really no evidence of it. the benefits of being a vampire! another benefit was the fact that he was still fine and functional after having his literal heart removed. that too.

it would regenerate. at some point. like any other injury he sustained, it wouldn't last long. but an entire organ being removed was harder to recover from than a simple cut. seonghwa guessed it would take about a week— not that he'd really know, he's never had any organs removed before. but limbs took about a week.

"i mean we could always put something else in there? until it heals," wooyoung suggested, "like this onion? it's roughly the same size as a heart right?"

seonghwa grimaced, "i am not putting an onion in my chest cavity."

"what about a succulent?"

"wooyoung."

"a pair of sock-"

"wooyoung, i'm not putting anything like that inside my body!" seonghwa glared, sitting up on the couch so he could look directly at his boyfriend— who was cackling maniacally. as per usual.

it was times like this, laughing or smiling mischievously, that seonghwa could really see wooyoung's fox-like features. of course, the man was a gumiho, so he was equally as much of a fox as he was a human.

okay, he really wasn't either of those. he was a hundred percent gumiho. but he looked like a fox and a human. whatever. it's semantics.

"seonghwa?" wooyoung called from the kitchen after the vampire laid back down to watch whatever kdrama was playing on the tv. he wasn't paying much attention anyway, so he immediately sat back up.

"yeah?"

"can you get the meat from the fridge? it must be thawed out by now," he asked, not looking up from where he was chopping up something green. a leaf or something. seonghwa never questioned his ingredients, it's not like he could taste much of it anyway.

whatever wooyoung made, he would always partake in. even if today that meant eating his own heart and liver. nothing too weird for him, he'd drank his own blood before, this wasn't so different.

'it's more than a little fucked up, i will never understand supernatural stuff' he heard jongho's voice say in his head. seonghwa laughed at that as he opened up the fridge (the one reserved specifically for corpses. obviously) and pulled out a man they'd killed last night.

on occasion, their friends would be worried about them murdering people. which was understandable— but everything they did was justified, they swear. nothing would go to waste, either. not with their demon cats constantly meowing for scraps of food. besides, where else were they gonna find good quality human hearts and livers for wooyoung to eat?

seonghwa laid him out on their dinner table, still dressed in a fairly nice suit. it was a shame he'd have to ruin it, he thought as he brought a knife to the man's collarbone and dragged it downwards, until he reached his pelvis. he hardly had to put in any strength to open him up completely— ribcage and all. he shoved his hand into the man's guts, pulling out his stomach (among other things) and throwing it away in the trashcan he'd moved next to the table.

this part was the messiest and, therefore, seonghwa's least favorite part of preparing meals.

'because it's gruesome?' hongjoong had asked him once. seonghwa had laughed at the other vampire and told him that his only problem was how much he had to clean up afterwards.

it was routine at this point— drain all the blood to drink later, put the body in the freezer so it didn't become gross over time, let it thaw, remove all the organs that wooyoung doesn't like (seonghwa memorized them very quickly), and relax until his boyfriend was done cooking.

the whole cooking thing was very atypical of them since, unlike humans, neither of them would ever get sick from eating raw meat. in fact, raw meat was usually healthier for them but wooyoung (being the quirky little guy he is) liked cooking too much to just eat things raw. it was boring that way.

he was glad that seonghwa would take the time to eat his cooking, as opposed to jongho and san who apparently 'couldn't eat human meat' because they 'are human' or something like that. whatever. if they don't want his cooking, wooyoung thinks they should just say so.

"do you want to cook these as well?" seonghwa asked, gesturing to the man's insides, "or just leave them?"

"hmm, we can just eat them raw today. i'm sorry but i don't feel like cooking much longer. my head is killing me," wooyoung whined, turning off the stove.

"long day?"

"excruciatingly long day."

"yeah, i could tell," seonghwa said, hugging the gumiho from behind (as carefully as he could without getting bodily fluids all over his clothes, that is).

"you're a terrible boyfriend. you could tell i had a tiring day and you didn't even do anything? we're getting a divorce and i'm taking custody of the cats," wooyoung huffed, leaning back into seonghwa, "and the apartment, i'm taking it too. and the wii and the xbox."

"mhmm," seonghwa nodded, going along with it as he pressed a kiss to wooyoung's neck, "you can definitely have the cats, they like you more. but you're really gonna divorce me when i finally caved and let you eat my liver?"

"i will if it tastes gross," the gumiho mumbled, turning around to bite seonghwa's ear (he doesn't bite it clean off— not this time at least).

of course, they'd discussed tasting each other in more unconventional ways than kissing and... other things they do behind closed doors. they were two bloodthirsty creatures who just happened to be madly in love— but it was seonghwa who suggested it first.

"do you think you'd want to drink my blood?"

seonghwa was honestly expecting wooyoung to respond with something along the lines of confusion or disgust. but, no. of course he didn't.

"sure, but only if you drink mine too! it won't be fair otherwise."

it simply continued on from there.

"i absolutely do not taste gross," seonghwa said, hugging his boyfriend once more before he continued working on the corpse, cracking his ribcage open further, "anything particular happen today you wanna talk about?"

wooyoung laughed again. "not really, just tired. you don't have to worry about it, i'll be fine!"

"i absolutely will worry, and you know it."

"yeah, i do."

seonghwa rolled his eyes as wooyoung finished plating the organs and decorating it with... something. seonghwa never knew what exactly the gumiho put on his plate but, as long as it looked nice (and it wasn't poison!), he could really care less.

wooyoung wouldn't have even put any effort into presenting his meals prettily if seonghwa didn't insist.

"what are you messing with? come sit down, you already complained about a headache. you don't even have to clean up, i'll do everything so you can relax," seonghwa scolded, pouring himself a glass of this poor man's blood.

"i'm just making sure it looks nice, shut up!" wooyoung said, frowning exaggeratedly as he brought their two plates to the table. seonghwa started eating before him, and wooyoung beamed as he seemed happy with how it tasted. huh. seonghwa liked how he tasted.

that sentence sounded dirtier than he intended and he mentally scolded himself for that one.

"is it just me or is it a little bit weird that you're eating your own organs right now?" wooyoung asked as he took a sip from his own blood-filled glass, "i mean, don't get me wrong, it tastes really fucking good..."

the scene would look nothing less than morbid to an outsider. two men drinking glasses of blood at a table with a corpse laid out in the middle of it, torso ripped open to expose his insides... their dinners were not made for the faint of heart. luckily, the two had been alive for ages, and had grown out of emotions like 'fear' or 'disgust'. those were human sensations.

seonghwa shrugged in response to wooyoung's question. "what's the difference between this and my blood? besides, i just enjoy your cooking."

wooyoung squinted at him suspiciously. the vampire sighed.

"i enjoy your cooking even though i can't taste it. i can't help that so stop giving me dirty looks! just eat already— your head probably hurts from not eating all day. i love you but god, wooyoung, a bag of chips does not count as a meal."

"oh my god, hwa, what are you, my mom?" he asked, his face scrunching up in fake disgust, "let me eat in peace."

"sure. i hope i taste good," seonghwa joked. wooyoung rolled his eyes and leaned over the table to give his boyfriend a wet, bloodstained kiss. the vampire giggled like an anime girl at the feeling.

"you always do."

Notes:

ehehe adding to my supernatural!ateez agenda.

originally i was going to make all the pairings be human/supernatural but this cannibalism concept was too good for me to pass up and it would only make sense if both parties involved were non-human so. yeah.

pls leave comments they are my reason to live!
