Chapter Text
Yubin was woken up by irritating sound. Alarm clock. She hates it, everyday hearing this annoying sound, but she needed to go to the university. Reluctantly she picked up the phone and turned off the alarm. She checked the hour and lay down again. With a heavy sigh, she turned on her side, with her eyes closed. She still has few minutes to stay in her bed. After a moment, when she processed that it’s time to get up, she opened her eyes and looked around. Suddenly she saw a girl sitting on the floor, near to the bed. At first, she ignored this, but seconds later she sat on the bed as fast as she could.
“Hello” the girl said
‘What? What is happening?’ In Yubin head there was a lot of questions but she couldn’t say any of them. She shook her head and rubbed her eyes, but when she opened them again the person was still here.
“Who are you? What are you doing here and…how did you get here?” Yubin attacked the girl with questions
“Well…it’s long story but…in short I’m a half ghost” the girl answered
Yubin looked at the girl with disbelief. She was sure she locked the door before going to sleep. Ghost? What kind of joke is it? She stood up to check if the intruder did anything. She saw that the girl went after her. Yubin stayed calm, even if she was a bit scared, but the girl didn’t look like she could do something to her.
“Okay, you know what? I don’t really have a time for these things, so maybe you will just go? It seems like you didn’t touch anything, so I will not call the cops” Yubin said opening the front door
“No, but really-“ the girl tried to explain
“Yeah, yeah, have a nice day” Yubin said pushing the girl through the door
When she closed the door, she makes sure that she locked them and get back to get ready to go out. She went to the kitchen to make herself a breakfast. She sighed heavily, leaning on the table top, she was trying to understand what happened.
“I can explain it” suddenly she heard a voice behind her
Yubin turned around and she saw the girl again. She was standing in front of her, but how? She makes sure she locked the door. How it was possible? Suddenly Yubin noticed a dark blue tail behind the girl back. She was confused, she didn’t understand anything. A little frustrated she run her hand through her short hairs.
“Alright…I’m listening” the short haired girl said sitting by the table
The girl sat in front of her. She has a long blonde hair and also Yubin noticed that she was a bit taller then she. She needed to admit, the girl was pretty.
“My name is Kim Yoohyeon, it’s…it’s a long story to tell you how I get here and even so I can’t really explain you why exactly you but…I need to stay with you for some time” the girl said calmly
“And you are half ghost, right? What is going on?”
“Well, yes, I’m half ghost, the tail is…something connected with it...and basically only you can see me, hear me, talk to me or feel me touching you…the others have no idea that I’m around you” Yoohyeon explained
Yubin noticed that the girl looks a little nervous talking about all of this, she was sitting, playing with her fingers, but she didn’t understand why. She was looking at her still confused. ‘Why me?’ She was wondering, but when she looked at the clock she realized
“Alright, you can stay here, but now I’m a little bit in rush” Yubin said getting ready to go out
“University?”
“Yeah...yes exactly” the short haired girl laughed a bit
“Can I go with you Yubin?” the blonde girl said
Yubin freeze for a moment. She was sure she didn’t introduce herself to the girl.
“How do you know my name?”
“Well, maybe I kinda…reading in your mind. Not deep of course! But some basic information” Yoohyeon said with a shy smile
“What?”
Yubin was shocked and confused. What a start of the day. The unknown half ghost girl who can read her mind. Great.
“Yeah, you are Lee Yubin, born in March 7th 1997, you are studying music production and…currently you really confused”
Yubin went silent again. She really didn’t know what to say and she already felt tired by this situation
“Okay, for now…let me get ready” the girl said resigned
“But can I go with you?”
“Yeah sure…” Yubin could feel that if she will not agree Yoohyeon will not leave her in peace
Yoohyeon only smiled bright, what makes Yubin smlie a bit too. Somehow the girl has a really cute smile. Yubin started to walk around the house and with the corner of her eyes she saw how the girl was sitting and observing her. She didn’t get much into details why the girl is here because she needed to go for classes but she planned to ask more after they came back.
“How old are you?” Yubin asked after a moment
“We are the same age” she answered
Yubin kinda guessed that. She could tell by looking at the girl, that she might be in the same age that she is.
“Well, if only I can see you…”
“It will look kinda weird when you will talk to yourself?” Yoohyeon laughed again
“Yeah…”
The short haired girl remember now that the other girl is reading in her mind.
“You can just talk to me in your mind”
“And it will work?” Yubin wonder
“Yes it will”
“Alright…let’s go”
Both of them left the flat and leaded their steps to the elevator and finally left the building. Yubin was feeling a little odd knowing that only her could see Yoohyeon. She was wondering why she? Half ghost? What is that mean? She is half dead? But even if the girl was alive they didn’t know each other. Finally they got to the university and Yubin was leading them to the classroom.
“It’s nice here!” Yoohyeon said looking around when they entered the classroom
“Hello Yubin” they both heard and saw a black haired girl
“Oh, hi Siyeon”
“Ready for the exam?” Siyeon asked laughing a bit
Yubin went silent for a moment which caught Yoohyeon attention.
“Yeah I think so” Yubin answered at which Yoohyeon laughed a bit
“Good luck then” Siyeon said, patting her shoulder and went to sit on her seat
“You are not ready, aren't you?” the blonde girl said with a quiet laugh
“I forgot, I was thinking about my composition assignment, damn” the short haired girl said resigned sitting on her seat
“What exam is this?”
“English”
“Well…you know I can help you, I’m pretty good in English” Yoohyeon said with a playful smile
Yubin was sitting in silence for a moment, looking at her. She was not sure about the help of the other girl, but if she proposed her this, it should be true.
“Just this once” she said
Yoohyeon laughed at these words. Finally when the class started, the exam began. The professor gave each student a test and they began writing. Yubin look at the text and sighed heavily, she didn’t know anything.
“Oh, that’s easy one” Yoohyeon said looking through Yubin shoulder
“Please help”
Yoohyeon smiled and started to giving Yubin an answers. Yubin kinda couldn’t believe how easily Yoohyeon was doing the exercises. The exam ended and after giving the test back to the professor Yubin sighed and lay her head on the desk
“Next time better prepare yourself, it wasn’t that hard” Yoohyeon said
“I forgot, beside you was doing it so easily”
“Well…I’m English student” Yoohyeon laughed a bit
“That explains a lot” Yubin said
“Hey, but I helped you and you look happy about it”
“Because I am, thank you Yoohyeon”
The girl looked at Yubin a little surprised but in one moment a bright smile showed on her face exposing her small dimples.
“What happened?”
“You called me by my name for the first time”
The answer surprised Yubin a bit, but it was true.
“And you are happy about it?” Yubin said smirking
“Yes!”
“Dumbass...”
After all the classes, at which Yoohyeon was distracting Yubin a bit, they came back home
“You need something to eat or...”
“Yeah, I can eat, maybe I’m half ghost but still”
“Alright” Yubin said and lead her steps to the kitchen
Yoohyeon went after her. The girl prepared all the ingridients and get ready to cooking. Yoohyeon curious was sitting on the chair, watching her, but after some time she stood up and went closer to the girl.
“You need help?” the blonde girl asked
“If you want to, can you give me a salt?” Yubin said
The girl didn’t move, but suddenly in front of her, Yubin saw a blue tail, holding salt cellar.
“Really?” the shorter girl said taking the salt
Yoohyeon smiled wide and came back to cutting the vegetables. Yubin laughed under her breath. The girl has a tail and was using it in all ways possible. After cooking together, the girls sat by the table and eat
“Wow, it’s delicious” Yoohyeon said
“Thanks”
At this moment Yubin realized that she quickly get used to the girl. She lives alone so, for now she has a roommate. The only moments when there is a little bit more life in her flat is when Siyeon or Bora visiting her, beside that is very quiet here. Maybe it’s still a little weird but she see that the girl is not a bad person or ghost and somehow she was enjoying her company. She also noticed that the girl feel more comfortable around her too.
“Soo…can you explain to me what happened before you came here?” the short haired girl asked a little unsure
“Oh, well…being honest I don’t really remember. I remember…loud noises, that’s the only thing that is stuck in my head” Yoohyeon said
But Yubin could feel, that the girl didn’t want to talk about the details. She could see, that Yoohyeon is probably a bit uncomfortable now, her mood dropped in a moment.
“Tomorrow we need to do a grocery shopping” Yubin said breaking the silent
“Oh, I’m going with you” Yoohyeon said smiling a bit
Only now Yubin noticed a small fangs. ‘Tail and fangs, what is she? A cat?’ Yubin laughed in her mind, but it was even cute. The girl already had a pretty smile and the fangs was giving her more charms. After eating Yubin washed the dishes with a little help of Yoohyeon.
“Alright I will be going to sleep. I’m sorry but you need to sleep on the couch” Yubin said
“Oh, don’t worry about that. Couch is enough”
“Do you need blanket and pillow?”
“It would be great”
After a while Yubin came back to the living room with a blanket and pillow in her hands. She noticed that the girl has different clothes now, but she didn’t ask how she did it.
“Thanks” the blonde girl said when Yubin put down the things
“If you would need something just…woke me up” Yubin said going to her room
“Alright, good night Yubin”
But Yubin couldn’t really fall asleep. She was wondering why the girl is here, why her or why she is a half-ghost. She could feel Yoohyeon is avoiding the subject so she didn’t want to push it. It must be something hard for her, but Yubin decided to wait a little longer and see what will happen.
