Perfect Fit

Work Text:

It was just a normal day for Corpse, being at home, watching videos, writing music, checking social media, the usual.

That's when a clip from yesterday's stream caught his eye.

It was from Toast's minecraft stream where he talked about an episode at the gym. Corpse frowns and checks the comments.

It is filled with simps and one comment irked him a lot more than it should and it was bothering him ever since.

When Toast came home that night, he didn't see anything wrong with Corpse. He was more focused on watching netflix and gaming with him. Toast yawns and nestled against Corpse.

He peeks at his content kitten and make glances between his phone and the tv. When it pinged open, Toast almost fell off the couch when Corpse tried to reach for it.

Corpse apologises quickly and pats his back before checking his phone when Toast returned to his spot.

"Whatcha looking at?" Toast asks from below.

"Hm? Oh nothing... just a message from a friend that is going to deliver stuff..."

Toast frowns and looks up at him but Corpse closed it before he could see anything.

"Do you need help with that?" He asks.

"No, that's fine, they don't know who I am," Corpse smiles.

"Hm... if you need anything..." Toast squints like a cat and Corpse smiles fondly at that and pats his back.

"Don't worry about it kitty, I can handle it."

Toast trusts Corpse so he goes back to being lazy.

Corpse sighs internally, he doesn't know why Toast is so touchy with him if that was his type of men. But he is going to make sure that he fits more of the style Toast likes. It's the least he could do for all that he has done for him.

Corpse pulls a blanket over them and let's Toast sleep on his arm as he turns off the tv when he hears Toast's soft snores.

The next day Toast was alone on the couch with the blanket over him, the smell of food was waffling from the kitchen and Toast was suddenly excited. That's because Corpse seldom hits the kitchen, but when he does, it is heavenly.

"Whatcha making?" Toast asks.

"Eggs, bacon and toast," Corpse smiles and places the freshly cooked egg onto the plate.

"Go wash up, I'll be done in a while."

Toast does exactly that and comes back to a plate filled with food.

"So... what's the occasion?" He asks as he waits for Corpse to finish his portion.

"Occasion?" Corpse asks," must there be a special reason for me to cook for my one and only?"

Toast rolls his eyes at the cheesiness but cannot stop smiling. But Corpse was too busy to notice, once he was done, only then did Toast dig in.

"I'll be gone for a day or two, don't miss me too much..." Toast teases.

"Of course I won't, I'll be texting you every minute anyway," Corpse quips.

Toast gives Corpse a peck on the cheek before leaving for LA.

Toast didn't tell Corpse that they were sent back early, mainly because they had to go film something else.

Just a few hours ago they were only talking about what games they would want to play together.

So when Toast got back, he half expected him to be playing games. But instead, he sees Corpse in the room, with a kettlebell and an exercise ball that is currently inflated and unused cause Corpse doesn't know how the fuck to use that shit.

He was too focused that he didn't realise Toast was at the door.

"Corpse? I didn't know you were into fitness, you should have told me... I could have shared something with you..."

Corpse froze, he realised that he didn't find it weird so he relaxed a bit.

"Oh um... I didn't know if..." he shrugs but didn't want to say anything that might hurt Toast's feelings.

Toast chuckles and plays around with the exercise ball a little, like a cat playing with a ball of yarn.

"Was it heavy bringing them here?" Toast asks.

"No... I wheeled them in but..." Corpse nervously fidgets with his fingers.

Corpse was slightly glad Toast didn't question it, rather he taught him how to do it properly. But he feels a little bad as he has no motivation to exercise but Toast should be more than reason to get ripped.

But Corpse was very tempted to take a shortcut after a few workout sessions. Despite Toast saying that he should paced himself better, Corpse was doing more than he could take per day.

He was lucky Toast was there to supervise so he doesn't hurt himself.

"Corpse... what made you want to lift?" Toast had ask once.

"Uh... Karl told me that he had a sponsor..."

That was true and half lie, Karl did have a sponsor but he didn't initiate the giving rather Corpse actively asked for Karl for free stuff.

"Still you could pretty much gift this to anyone else."

"I... wanted to try something new..."

"Hm..."

Toast was still suspicious but didn't press it. Because the both of them were so secretive, Sykkuno had to come clean with them.

"So a Toast! I heard that Corpse bought some new things!"

"Huh?"

"Yeah you know... the exercise stuff..."

"Yeah why?"

"I heard that he got it for you! Did you like it?"

"No Sykkuno he got it for himself."

"Oh yeah... but uh, the reason he bought them was for you right?"

"Hmmm what do you mean...?"

Sykkuno covers his mouth, holding back his laughter, along with Rae, who is laughing out loud while muted.

"Oh it's because of the story you told on stream right, the one with the gym?"

Toast takes a pause and from his phone, looked at Corpse's room. He opens the door to find Corpse laying down on the exercise ball, but rather than stretching... he is just lying on top of it...

Toast purses his lips and taps Corpse's shoulder.

"Huh? Wha-" Corpse looks around and rolls down from the ball and looks up at him.

"Oh hey Toast... what's up?"

"Corpse... you know I love you right?"

Corpse quickly sat up, "what's wrong?" He immediately asks.

"Nothing... it's just that Sykkuno told me that you're working out for me but you know that was sarcasm right? I was joking..."

Corpse's ears pink a little in embarrassment.

"Oh um...no I was just... you know working out for my own... health-"

From then on, Corpse pretty much half gave up on exercising, instead he joins Toast for yoga... at least it was a funny story to tell during christmas parties.

The End.
