Prompt: what did you do and what do I need to do to undo it?”

...

Reluctantly Hibiki stood outside of his parents home. If he had any choice he wouldn't be here. His parents weren't exactly happy when he announced that he wasn't going to college. That he had taken a job at the Diet Building. They didn't know what exactly he would do but they didn't approve. They wanted him to go to college and get a high paying job.

Hibiki didn't want to go into a corporate job. Not after working with Yamato and the other members of JP's. Having a purpose higher than himself. That was something they couldn't understand. How his life had changed so much in seemingly no time at all.

No matter he couldn't stay out on the street. He had gotten permission from Yamato to have tonight off. His mother insisted that he come and eat with them. He had hoped that his boss would deny his request. Instead Yamato had waved him off and given the permission without even a second thought.

Sighing he moved up to the doorway and knocked. He could hear movements inside and a moment later the door opened. A woman of her middle years stood there. Grey eyes looked at him, her eyes expectant. She was slightly shorter than him. This was Irene Kuze his mother.

She said happy and loud making him hide a wince, "Hibiki my dear! You're finally home. You look a little peeky. We will have to make sure you eat all you can."

Hibiki sighed. He didn't even try to argue with her that he ate. It was no use as she would never believe it. Despite the fact that he had always been skinny no matter how much he ate.

Without warning she grabbed his arm and pulled him into the house. He barely had a moment to toe off his shoes before he was dragged into the living room. His father was standing there. Dark eyes caught Hibiki's and he felt a shiver run down his spine.

Hibiki could remember the man's temper. How he expected perfection and if he didn't get it a beating came. His mother didn't do anything but watch. Watch and tell him he had to be better so that his father wouldn't be so angry.

Nothing Hibiki had ever done was enough for the man. It was part of the reason he had decided to stick with his plan to join JP's. Using the dorms there had been a blessing. No longer did he have to return home.

His mother pushed him towards the table where food lay. Silently they sat at the table and waited. Only once his father grabbed the first plate of food did they do the same.

The food was delicious. It was better than the cafeteria's food but not quite as good as the last restaurant that Yamato took him to. He would rather be back at the Diet Building even if he had to eat the cafeteria food. Or do paperwork. Ewww paperwork.

His father said suddenly, "It is good that you have returned home. Have you gotten rid of the ridiculous notion of working in the Diet Building? I don't even know how you got that position. They are notoriously secretive about qualifications."

That was because you needed the ability to use magic. But it wasn't like he could say that to his father. The man would never believe him if he tried to explain his job.

Hibiki paused in his eating swallowed what was in his mouth before he said, "I only agreed to dinner, father. I have no intentions of leaving my job at the Diet. My supervisor has kept me busy and the work is enjoyable."

Not like he could say he had a crush on his boss. Not that he could ever tell Yamato that either. That man would not understand his feelings. Nor would he likely reciprocate them. Yamato he knew had feelings but he was strictly professional. Trying to stop the bleeding had been the closest Yamato had gotten to him since he joined JP's offially.

Under his rabbit hoodie lay the scar from that mission. Yamato had saved him from a very nasty death. He had told the Hibiki off several times for doing something stupid. He would never regret saving the other. If it came down to it he would do it again.

His father's face became stormy as he said, "You will do as I say, Hibiki. You will quit your job at the Diet and go to college."

Hibiki's blue eyes went cold as ice, "No. I am an adult now by my own right. You no longer have any control over me. I do not live under your roof either."

"You dare defy me?!" Snarled the man as he jumped to his feet.

Only half a second behind his father Hibiki too was on his feet. He yelled, "I am my own person. I am not you nor will I ever be!"

His mother tried to intercede but it was too late. His father lunged across the table trying to strike Hibiki. For years he had taken the beatings without a complaint. No longer.

Hibiki braced himself using the skills he had learned from Makoto and Yamato. They hadn't realized the amount of muscle had been put on his frame. Instead of taking him down his father bounced off.

Anger filled his father's eyes. Coldly he came back and tried to punch Hibiki in the face. It was easily blocked by the the boy and then he shoved his father back. This gave him plenty of room to move as he needed to. The fists came again and he continued to block. Light on his feet he kept moving easily slipping around the less experienced fighter.

The training from JP's had kicked in instantly. Even if he fought to keep from attacking as if his father was a demon. A part of him wasn't convinced that the bastard wasn't a demon.

A strike hit him in the back of the making stars danced before his eyes. It sent him tumbling to the floor. As soon as he hit the ground his father began to kick him in the ribs. Several seconds passed before he realized that his mother must have hit him with something.

Moving one of his hands into the folds of his jacket he found his phone. He should use magic to force his father back. To teach him a lesson. Still his hand was stayed by the thought of what Yamato would say. The hesitation cost him as the kicks rained down upon him.

Curling in upon himself he protected his vital organs. The beating seemed to go on forever. Several times he coughed up blood. The metallic taste clung to him now. At the very least he had a few broken ribs but there could be internal injuries as well. He wouldn't know until he could get back to the Diet Building. Otome would help him.

Then a hand grabbed his collar and hauled him up. He was thrown out of the house by the man.

As he hit the ground and coughed up more blood his father snarled, "Don't you dare come back. Not unless you're prepared to leave the Diet! See if they will take you now."

Hibiki gingerly moved so that he was sitting up. Weakness kept him from trying to stand. Looking at the sky he realized night had fallen. The beating had lasted longer than he thought.

Wooziness over took him. It nearly caused him to collapse back onto the yard. If he did someone would call an ambulance. Right?

No. He knew they wouldn't call him an ambulance. In the years passed they had never done anything to help him. They could hear everything and would do nothing to help him.

Hibiki pulled his phone from the pocket knowing that he couldn't get back to JP's without help. Or maybe he should call Daichi. His friend knew how much of a bastard his father was.

The choice was taken from him as his phone began to ring. Yamato... well time to face the music.

So he answered the call with a groan, "Yamato..."

He could practically see the man sitting up straighter as he asked exasperated, "What did you do and what do I need to do to undo it?”

"I need help," conceded Hibiki as he coughed up more blood, "I can't move from my spot. Do you think you can send someone to come get me? I'll send you my location."

"Send the location," ordered Yamato, "We will be there soon."

Hibiki did so. Slowly he moved down the yard to the single tree. There he leaned his back against it. His head spun. He hoped that Yamato's person would hurry.

Sometime later he heard the sound of a car pulling up. Footsteps echoed and a familiar voice cursed loudly. Yamato. He hadn't expected Yamato to come himself. The limits of his strength hit him and he collapsed.

...

Yamato was barely able to catch Kuze before the foolish boy hit his head. The metallic scent of blood caught his attention. Immediately he began checking for injuries but could not find any. They must be internal he realized.

Something had happened. He didn't know what had happened and the only one that had answers was unconscious. First get him to JP's then he would get answers.
