Chapter Text
“A new night guard job at your old job’s sister location?” Her voice was muffled through the walls as Micheal entered the cozy home, dim lighting coming from the kitchen followed by the sound of pans clattering together. He stepped into the hall heading to where the noise was, smiling as he entered seeing the silhouette of his adored wife.
They were only 19 but already married since they swore they were in love when they met in high school. As soon as they graduated they wedded in a small chapel in the mountains, it was the happiest day of Michael's life.
“Yeah, it sounds interesting, they have different animatronics and the pay is a bit higher since it requires more technical work.” Micheal hated lying to her since they were great at trusting each other but he couldn't tell her that he was there to look for his little sister who he believed was in one of the animatronics, although y/n knew all of Michael’s past, he didn't want her to worry of him being in danger.
“Hm… since when are you a technician?” she light-heartedly asked. He kissed her cheek as he passed by, opening the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water. Standing there as he sipped it he watched her chop some vegetables before replying, “Since never-” he softly chuckled, screwing the cap back on, “- I just think it will be fun. Don't worry, I'll be fine.” He tried to console his wife, as she had a worried expression on her face.
“You say that but from your past experiences to me it seems that the Fazbear entertainment franchise is dangerous with their weird animatronics. You told me yourself you can feel something wrong with them, I can't help but worry, Michael.” Her voice was stern, shadowed by worry. Her sternness reminded Micheal of a Mother. Softly smiling to himself he couldn't help but imagine how great of a mother she'd be to kids one day.
“I know dear, but please, I'll be fine. I say I'm a pretty damn good night guard, nothing can get past me. I'm a pro.” Micheal proudly stated, his hands on his hips as he puffed out his chest, earning a laugh from her. She lightly slapped his chest, “You idiot..” She softly whispered out. “Now stop fooling around and help me with dinner, pass me the meat that's in the freezer.” Complying, Micheal helped his wife prepare dinner that night. Every now and then distracting her which caused a laugh from her that later turned into a scolding for fooling around.
“You did quite a good job on this chicken, darling.” Micheal grinned as he took another bite from the meal. “Just slightly burned just how I like.” He sarcastically chuckled, pushing her playfully.
She glared at him playfully back, “Oh Michael, but you’re the one that cooked the chicken, I was in charge of the vegetables.” She responded back with the same sarcasm, causing a surprised look on Micheals’s face as he remembered that he in fact had been the one in charge of the chicken.
“Oopsies..” He shrugged his shoulders, stuffing his mouth with a few cooked vegetables, the taste was a lot better than the nearly charred chicken he had cooked, they were juicy and tasty, the difference of his wife's superior cooking being recognizable.
“Enjoying it?” Y/n smirked at him as she watched him chew, nodding his head in response. “Nothing beats your cooking dear, you're the best.” She laughed in response, the rest of the meal being enjoyed by the young couple.
“If you want I’ll wash dishes, you already did enough.” Standing up, Michael grabbed the dirty plates from the table and headed towards the kitchen. “Okay, I'll be in the living room, don't take too long though, I may get overly lonely and die.”
Chuckling, Micheal rolled his eyes, “Oh dear, seems someone can't live without me, I’m just that special.”
“Shut up and hurry, I'm not joking. I can already feel the heart pains from my loneliness.” Dramatically grabbing her chest, she smiled at Micheal before heading into the living room and sitting on the couch. On the other hand, Michael began to wash the dishes, cleaning the table, and putting old dishes away. Not long after he was done and on his way to accompany his wife on the couch.
She noticed him heading to the living room and quickly closed her eyes and stuck her tongue out as if to mimic a newly found dead body. Micheal dramatically gasped as he entered the living room, seeing her ridiculous state. “Oh no! How could this happen? My wife… My love… The love of my life has passed from loneliness. I'm just the worst husband ever!” He dramatically exaggerated his voice as she fell to his knees beside where she lay on the sofa. Y/n tried her best to not laugh but Michael began chuckling, which caused her to let out her laughter.
“You moron..” She breathed out, opened her eyes, and sat up, lightly hitting Michael’s head. He just sheepishly smiled at her, tiredly letting out a sigh as he rested his head on her lap, enjoying the warmth. She shook her head chuckling to herself, rubbing one hand through his hair as he shut his eyes.
“I love you, Micheal.” she tenderly whispered, leaning her head down and planting a small kiss on his cheek. Opening one eye Micheal smiled, “I love you too, darling, more than anything.”
The next day Micheal arrived at his new job at the sister location, prepared with a mission he headed in, being greeted by darkness and a talking machine that would be his guide. A keypad appeared in front of him, waiting for him to type in his name, the letters on the small, crappy screen were shaking and blurry as he attempted to type his name. “Welcome Eggs Benedict.”
Micheal wanted to laugh at the name the machine had translated his name to. He couldn’t wait to tell Y/n about it.
A few hours passed and the shift wasn’t as hard as the last jobs he had, it was fairly easy for now. Micheal made sure to examine the new animatronics, there were different ones, these didn’t consist of the main group that had haunted him through his childhood. The only one he fairly remembered from his father was Circus Baby. The others were new to Micheal, Ballora, Funtime Foxy, and Funtime Freddy. These seemed to be the main sources of entertainment at this location.
On his drive home, he couldn’t help but begin to think about the new animatronics, had Henry designed these himself?
Once home Micheal tried his best to quietly enter through the front door as to not wake Y/n, he assumed she’d be asleep. He took his shoes off at the entrance and began heading towards the shared bedroom down the hall, they had rented a small 2 bedroom home, something small since they didn’t need anything too big. The spare bedroom was used as office space for both, but it was mainly where y/n would dedicate her time to painting and writing.
Silently he opened the door and stepped in, his assumption was correct, y/n was fast asleep on the bed, tightly hugging Micheal’s pillow. He stifled out a soft chuckle and smiled, she looked adorable. He undressed himself and put on a t-shirt and loose shorts before kissing y/ns cheek and getting into bed beside her. She’d taken his pillow, so he gently pried her arms off it, causing her to stir until she lazily opened one eye, mumbling inaudible words that sounded something like, “let me sleep.”
Successfully he got the pillow and placed it under his head, making himself comfortable he faced y/n, her arms now huggling the blanket as she had quickly fallen asleep again, Micheal grabbed her arms and wrapped them around his torso, his own arms engulfing her. Closing his eyes he fell asleep shortly after, a dumb smitten smile plastered on his face.
Morning light seeped in through the thin curtains as a new day started, but neither of them woke up, Micheal fast asleep from his night job and Y/n was a late sleeper. But soon Y/ns eyes opened, she quickly blinked them trying to adjust to the bright light. Turning to Micheal he was fast asleep, buried under the thick blanket, Y/n admired him.
Messy brown hair flopped over the pillows, eyes shut and mouth slightly open, letting out small quiet snores. Micheal wasn’t much of a snorer thankfully, but y/n found it adorable each morning how he slept. One of his arms was still tightly fastened around her waist. But she didn’t mind one bit as she snuggled closer to Micheal, feeling his chest heave up and down, listening to his heartbeat and soft breathing, he was absolutely perfect in every way. Even when he wasn’t aware.
Y/n stayed there for a few minutes before Micheal stirred awake, eyes blinking open as he stretched his arms and yawned before looking at her, a smile growing on his face, “good morning, love.” he grumbled, his voice still laced with sleep. Y/n smiled in return, “good morning..” Time seemed to slow as they stayed there, just a few more minutes, they mentally thought.
By the time they got out of bed, it was 2 pm. They each got dressed, making the bed together before heading to the kitchen to make, breakfast, no lunch. Brunch. Opening the windows, y/n let in the sunlight, while Micheal prepared bowls in the kitchen, opening the fridge and grabbing small trays of berries.
The day was spent lazily between them rotating from the living room, to the kitchen, to occasionally the back porch to soak in the sun and cool breeze of springtime.
It was now nighttime again, y/ns head rested on Micheal’s shoulder as they watched Micheal’s favorite old-time vampire cartoon. Micheal was enjoying a bowl of popcorn with Y/n as they were both enthralled by the childish show, it was entertaining to say. Micheal was dressed in his night guard clothes already. The clock on the wall read 11:29 as Micheal let out a dissatisfied sigh, gently shaking y/n. She looked up at him then at the clock, “I have to get going darling, ill be back before you know it.”
Standing up Micheal walked to the door slipping on his shoes with y/n close behind him, she hugged him after he grabbed the car keys, she didn’t want him to go but someone had to bring in the money. He hugged her back, then leaned back and kissed her softly on the lips, “I love you, ill see you after work.” He let go of her, unlocking the door, “Stay safe Micheal, please don’t get hurt.”
That night when Micheal arrived at his job it was the same thing, words autocorrecting to something else than he had picked, which caused him to get a new voice for his guide, an angsty teen. Crawling through vents he made a ‘joke’ about a dead body being found in the vents once, Micheal wouldn’t forget that too easily. Tonight the animatronics, Ballora and Funtime Foxy, weren’t in their rightful places.
“Let’s zap her.” Micheal’s eyes widened, an electric shock?? What the hell do you want me to die? But he did as told, shocking the animatronics, he heard a scary deep echo but chose to ignore it, moving onto Funtime Foxy until they were once again in their respectful stages. The voice malfunctioned, but it didn’t bother him.
It was now time to check Circus Baby, as he did so none of the buttons worked, apparently, his guide said he had to restart the system, which terrifyingly enough meant that he had to shut himself down which would leave Michael completely alone in the dark place. Before he had a choice in say the building shut down, all lights going off, his only source being the handheld flashlight he had brought.
He stood there in the darkness until a soft woman’s voice began to talk, he couldn’t calculate where it was coming from, but his biggest guess was an animatronic. She told him about a hiding spot under the desk which he didn’t hesitate to get under. Micheal had been through a lot but that didn’t change the fact that he was terrified of being alone, even more in the dark.
He hid under the desk closing the door around him, trying his best to avoid contact with the peering eyes. That was until they began to slide the door open, causing panic to rise in Micheal as he pulled it back away from them, successfully closing it, until again they pulled open but this time they were stronger, Micheal’s heart banged against his chest as he tried to keep a grip, the animatronics were insanely strong, but he got it shut again. They soon left chanting about someone watching them.
Again the females’ voice surrounded him, predicting what his guide would say once back, explaining he would die if he followed his instructions, not knowing what to believe, he stayed silent until his guide came back, saying exactly what she had predicted.
“Are you kidding me, I have to crawl through there..” He was now back in the main office space, staring into the dark abyss of Balloras room. “What the hell, let’s get this over with.”
He then began crawling through the dark space, every now and then pausing once he heard her music. Shortly after he made it to the maintenance room, doing as he was told. Slowly and carefully restarting the breakers, whilst keeping track of the terrifying bear animatronic that would approach with the flashes of lights.
As soon as he finished his shift was over, which Micheal couldn’t have been more than happy to leave. Tonight was sure more stressful than the last but what was he to expect from Freddys Diner, he could sense it’d only get worse from there.
On the drive home, his thoughts kept racing, Who was the females’ voice? Why was she helping him?
