Chapter 1: The Call!

Chapter Text

Harune Aira. Harune Aira. HARUNE AIRA,” a voice cried out, startling Aira from her slumber. She quickly sat up and looked around for the source of the voice, but could find nothing out of the norm.

“Aira, what are you doing, just go back to sleep,” the girl said to herself, shaking any thoughts of confusion out of her head. Aira laid back down and closed her eyes, letting herself fall back asleep.

HARUNE AIRA,” the voice cried louder. Aira jumped out of bed, accidentally faceplanting with a loud clutter. A sound of a switch flickered on and a light shined through her door.

“Aira, honey, are you ok?” her mother asked her through the door.

“That better not be a boy!” her father added.

“It’s not, Dad. I just tripped trying to get a glass of water. I’m okay,” Aira fired back at them, hoping they would believe her, though she didn’t know why she felt the need to lie about a voice crying out to her in the middle of the night. Well, actually when it’s said like that, it kinda makes sense.

“Okay, honey, hurry back to bed though, you know you start high school soon,” Her mother called back before leaving Aira’s door, pulling her husband alongside her.

“Alright, very loud voice who doesn’t want me to go to sleep, what do you want?” Aira whispered to herself, looking for where the voice would appear from. She saw a shine shimmer at her from her window, like it was calling for her. Aira went to the window and saw the Prism Goddess’s constellation staring down at her, winking like there was a secret just for her.

Jump, Aira. I want you to jump,” the constellation said to her, though it sounded like the voice was right behind her. Aira didn’t know why, but she felt compelled to do so, to jump her greatest jump.

“Rabicchi, come on, we gotta go,” she gently shook her mascot, who gingerly woke up, rubbing their eyes. Aira decidedly changed from pajamas into her normal outfit, pocketing some stones with her. Quietly, the two left her house and went to the ice rink at the mall where her journey started.

“Aira, what are we doing?” Rabicchi asked her, still half asleep, as they looked around their surroundings. “It’s a bit late for a Prism Show, isn’t it?”

“Just a jump, Rabicchi, I just need to jump,” Aira said before entering the Prism world.

“Good evening, Aira. Are you ready to jump?” Akai asked her, taking the stones Aira handed her, giving Aira whiplash as she turned back to the woman.

“How-”

“Jump, Aira,” she mysteriously said, activating the stones and letting Aira transform into her chosen costume. Aira didn’t know what she picked until now, just grabbing a random handful when she left. Looking down, it was her wedding dress ensemble from the Prism Queen Cup, her teardrop pendant from Shou glittering more than ever.

She skated out to the rink, giving herself a moment to relish the cold biting at her skin before moving to jump. Aira went around the rink, finding momentum, and finally, she jumped. Higher than usual, her wings grew from her back and she flew. “Aurora Rising, Dream!”

Her arms flung outwards, spreading the aurora all over. She felt the world unite as one, turning dreams from around the world into an aurora for all awake to see. And for a moment in time, it stopped. Aira was suspended in the air, her wings flapping (but that never happened before, they never actually carried her) and feeling her legs dangle when she should be landing her jump. In that moment of time, Aira and Rabicchi vanished from the universe.

Ageha Mia,” a voice called out to a purple-haired girl. It wasn't unusual for people to recognize her or Hye In, whom she was the nightlife of Harajuku with, but there wasn't any waving for her attention, and usually when one called, many others would start too. She turned around to look for whoever called for her, catching the attention of her best friend.

“Mia, is everything alright?” Hye In asked her.

“I-”

Ageha Mia!” it said louder.

“Did you hear that?” Mia asked her friend, still looking for the voice.

“Hear what?” the Korean girl inquired, turning to look at her friend, who was already gone, running off to who knows where. “Mia?”

The girl didn’t turn back though, she followed the voice until it got even louder, screaming at her.

Yes! This way, come, come. You know the way, show me an act. A revolution of the heart!” the voice encouraged, until Mia raced all over town, finding herself at the stadium where her want to become number one was cemented into her heart. At the rink where Aira was first crowned Prism Queen. Mia walked around until she found an entrance to  the Prism Closet, at least that's what she thinks it is. Mia took out some stones she always had ready on her, offering them to Akai.

“Are you ready, Mia?” the older sister-figure asked, taking the stones Mia held out to her.

“For what?” the young girl asked as Mimmy flew by Akai, waiting for her time to accessorize herself onto Mia. Akai simply smiled though, a knowing gleam hidden in her eyes.

Mia’s clothes transformed and a warmth spread to her from Symphonia outfit. I could’ve sworn I- never mind.

Mia stood on the relishing in the nostalgia it gave her. She looked at the seat she sat in all those years ago, when she was the one in the audience. Mia jumped, and skated through the prism tunnel where her act was a door away. “Grateful Symphonia!

Her butterfly wings grew, except they felt different this time. They didn’t feel like she could just as easily take them off and she could grow them. In tennis, they say the racket is like an extension of you, that's what Mia’s wings usually feel like. This time though, they feel like her, like to take them off (if they could even be taken off) would be like ripping off a limb. And for a moment in time, it stopped. Mia was weightless and still in her act when a new path was made for her out of glimmering constellations, her wings itching to follow. In that moment of time, Mia and Mimmy vanished from the universe.

Naru! Let’s meet!” Rinne’s familiar voice whispered to the short girl who was stargazing from her rooftop. Naru turned her head to the moon in search of a sign from Rinne, that she wasn't just imagining her voice. Sometimes she did, but it wasn't as clear or out of the blur as this.

“Rinne, is it really you?” Naru asked aloud, cupping her hands around her mouth.

Of course it is. Come, Naru, she wants to meet you, you’ve been chosen!” Rinne excitedly answered, still just a whisper in Naru’s ear. The pink-haired girl quickly sent a message to her friends that she would be meeting Rinne, though she isn't sure how or how long. Naru quickly tucked the phone in her pocket, grabbing the stones for the outfit Momo made for herand raced out the house.

“Rinne, where am I going?” Naru asked her friend, faintly seeing after images of the blue-haired messenger around her.

Come on, Naru, you know where,” the girl giggled in her ear, her voice not coming from any of the afterimages Naru had been seeing. “Where we last said goodbye,” she hinted, an afterimage of her running past Naru.

“Rinne!! Matte yo! ” Naru yelled as she ran after her friend.

Hurry, Naru, make the rainbow bridge and connect our hearts. The sooner you do it, the sooner we can see each other again!” Rinne whispered, though it felt like a yell. Naru raced through the quiet streets of Japan until she reached her destination, the rink where Rinne went back to the Prism world. Naru looked for a nearby station for her to connect to the Prism world and change her clothes, but all she saw was a figure in the distance.

“Jun? What are you doing here?” she asked the older woman. Did she also get called here by Rinne?

“I… I don't know, but I was called here by a voice, to be your passage. To ask if you're ready, are you?” Jun asked, her silver hair glittering in the moonlight as she reached a hand out towards Naru. The younger girl had a feeling she knew what she meant, though Jun didn't seem to, only repeating to her unsurely, like a script she had to last-minute memorize.

“I am,” Naru decisively answered, reaching to the hand held out. Once she grasped it, she changed and the weight of the stones in her pocket were no longer there, like they were being used. Naru looked down at herself to see how looked, but was surprised to see her outfit. Not wearing the black and gold one she knew she had chosen, she was wearing the Platinum Lovely Seventh Coord. But it shouldn't be possible, I didn’t even wake up Lovelin. She turned back up to ask Jun, but the former Prism Star wasn't there anymore. She was gone in the blink of an eye, almost a hallucination Naru would've question if it was reality had she not been sure of hearing Rinne’s voice.

She skated out to the center of the rink, remembering her last goodbye with Rinne, getting to witness Rinne’s beautiful solo Prism Show and their promise to see each other again, someday. Today would be that day. So much has happened since that day, there were so many stories to tell her friend. Naru felt her heart summon her Prism guitar and knew it was time. “Prism Live!

Long, pale-pink angel wings unfurled from her back as she flew up with her bow to the seven Prism Goddess statues. “Lovely! Ethnic! Pop! Feminine! Cool! Sexy! Star!” the Prism Star called out, shooting a different arrow at each statue. She watched as a whirlpool of color surrounded her, sending shooting stars of the Prism’s power in the sky. “Happy Naru, Arrow Infinity!”

Rinne and Lovlin appeared in front of Naru, as clear as day, and a rainbow grew from where she stood on the ice, reaching for beyond the moon. Rinne! Lovlin! I did it! She smiled brightly at the two friends she had missed and they smiled just as bright back. And for a moment in time, it stopped. Naru was held as her wings shifting from the angel wings to her Platinum Lovely Prism Feather wings, and she felt a weight on her head from the Lovely Rainbow crown she only wore once; when she said goodbye to Rinne. In that moment of time, Naru, Rinne, and Lovlin vanished from the universe.
