Work Text:
Kagome comfortably sat within her home. Between her and three young girls was a crackling fire. The three girls were her daughter and her nieces. In contrast, some may care about the technicality of being "Half," which didn't matter to Kagome. There was no half anything for her, regardless of whether you had the same parent. Siblings were siblings, and so were cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Right now, the three girls were entranced by the magical fire before them. Kagome had used her spiritual powers to turn the fire into a mini-movie theater. She'd managed to conjure it to play the 90s movie "Anastasia."
The three young children were captivated by it. Currently, on the 'screen," Anya was singing "Journey to the past." Her daughter attempted to sing along while her nieces couldn't stop asking questions regarding how this was even possible to make.
"She's so beautiful! How can anyone sing so beautifully?" Moroha asked her mother.
"My darling daughter, everyone is blessed with some talent or other. As you can see, some people have amazing singing voices," gesturing to the fire.
"How is this possible, Aunt Kagome? To turn paintings into moving pictures?" her niece Towa asked.
"Where I come from, my world has evolved greatly than the current world. But, truthfully? I wonder how much things have changed since I chose to remain here."
"You're amazing, Aunt Kagome! This story is amazing!" chimed in Setsuna, never taking her eyes off the pretty young woman dancing within the flames.
"Thank you both so much. Now I'd like to point out that while truly amazing, this story is based on an urban legend. Meaning its not factual, rather an idea of what could have been."
The girls continued to watch the enchanting movie till the end. However, they asked what they meant when it came to the end credits. Kagome explained the names of everyone who contributed to the movie to the girls.
All in all? It was a wonderful experience for the three young girls, who were fast asleep by the time it ended. Kagome smiled happily, for she knew she'd helped tell a story to these three remarkable young girls.
