Chapter Text
Ten years ago, pro heroes Aizawa Shouta and Yamada Hizashi got married, after graduating high school together.
Five years ago, Toga Himiko was a scared, abused girl in an alley. Five years ago, Aizawa found her on one of his patrols. Five years ago, he and Yamada came to love the girl they chose to foster.
Three years ago, Yamada found another kid running from the system. Three years ago, Aizawa, who swore he hated kids, decided Shinsou Hitoshi would have a permanent place in their family.
One year ago, both applied for and got into UA, the most famous hero school in Japan. Both were put in class 1A.
One month ago, they began fostering another girl, with memories of nothing but hell. In five months, Eri’ll be an official member of their family.
Now, Himiko happily skipped to the dorms, heading back from getting the class’s groceries.
As she passed by an alley, a hand reached out and pulled her close, while another one wrapped around her throat. She tried to yell, but she was shushed.
The bastard holding her pulled her to the back of the alley and held her against the wall. She struggled, but they’re a lot bigger than she was. They started slowly pulling her skirt down.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make you feel real good, beautiful.” They hushed, licking their lips.
She whimpered.
They started pulling down her panties-
Thunk!
They and Himiko both looked at the knife in their head in surprise, blood dripping between them.
Then the person gasped and collapsed, a loud thump sounding as they hit the ground.
Himiko startled as a person dropped down in front of her. The newcomer frowned, “Despicable.” they spat, yanking out the knife. They stepped forward, and Himiko tried to move back, yelping as she hit the wall.
“Are you okay?”
That voice- is that?
They took another step, and Himiko could see them clearly.
“Did they hurt you?”
“U-Uravity?”
Uravity frowned. “That depends… are you a cop? Or a hero?”
“Hero in training.” Himiko winced, pulling up her skirt.
“No, then.” Uravity turned to leave.
Himiko knew she should grab her, drag her to the cops, be a hero! She had just murdered someone! But still…
“I really appreciate the save. As a thank you, I'll let you go! Have a great night!”
Uravity froze. “You What? Huh?”
“I’d even clean up the body for you, but I don’t think I’d do a very good job.”
She blinked in confusion.
“I mean, I know I’m a hero, but I’m not an asshole! I’m not gunna lock you up right after you save me! That’s just a dick move!” Himiko rambled.
Uravity blinked again, and let out a giggle. “I guess that’s fair. I can deal with the body. Hey, you can keep the knife! My treat.”
Himiko thought maybe the knife had hit her instead, and she had died and gone to heaven.
“Have a good night!” Uravity waved as she picked up the bags she had dropped and dragged the floating body away. Himiko stared after her.
Once she was gone, Himiko managed to compose herself. She turned her sweater inside-out, then pocketed the knife and picked up her groceries.
When she got back to the dorms, she went to bed almost immediately. She had a lot of thinking to do.
……
Ten years ago, Uraraka Yua lost her job as a teacher. Ten years ago, she had to join her husband Uraraka Aiko as a construction worker.
Five years ago, Uraraka Ochako and her parents were evicted from their home. Five years ago, they were forced onto the streets, begging for scraps. Five years ago, Ochako turned to crime to survive.
Three years ago, Yua and Aiko died after eating weeks old food. Three years ago, Ochako was left alone, with nothing to her name but a criminal record.
One year ago, Ochako moved from food stall theft to murder. One year ago, she threw away any chance she had of a normal life.
One month ago, Ochako saw an ad in the black market; food and housing, for the price of the downfall of hero society. One month ago, she joined the League of Villains and became Uravity.
Today, Ochako was on her way home, bouncing over buildings, arms full of groceries- and mack n cheese for Shigaraki the manchild.
As she passed by an alley, she noticed a buff looking person holding what looked like a high school student, who seemed to be struggling.
That wouldn’t do.
She pulled a knife out of her pocket and tossed it with practiced aim, a pleasant thunk sounding as it hit its mark.
She dropped down, landing just next to the body. “Despicable.” she spat, yanking out her knife. She stepped forward, and the other person stepped back, yelping as they walked into the wall.
“Are you okay?” she asked.
She took another step: “Did they hurt you?”
“U-Uravity?”
Shit.
“That depends… are you a cop? Or a hero?”
“Hero in training.” they winced, pulling up their skirt.
Double shit.
“No, then.” she turned to leave.
“I really appreciate the save. As a thank you, I'll let you go! Have a great night!”
Huh?
She froze. “You What? Huh?”
“I’d even clean up the body for you, but I don’t think I’d do a very good job.”
She blinked in confusion.
“I mean, I know I’m a hero, but I’m not an asshole! I’m not gunna lock you up right after you save me! That’s just a dick move!” they rambled.
Ochako blinked again, and she had to giggle. “I guess that’s fair. I can deal with the body. Hey, you can keep the knife! My treat.”
When had she gotten so good at banter?
“Have a good night!” she waved as she picked up the bags she had dropped and dragged the floating body away.
As she walked home, all she was was confused.
What kind of hero in training just… let a known murderer off the hook? Sure, she was grateful, but that didn’t mean it made sense. What else didn’t make sense, was the way her heart skipped a beat when they thanked her.
Maybe it’d make sense in the morning.
