Summary
The narration begins 84 years after the end of the manga, in the canonical universe. Due to the terrible trauma generated by the war, and the strong political enmities prior to the destruction of Paradis Island, legislative agreements were created to limit the discourse on "the Great conflict." As a consequence of this, and for some inexplicable reason, the people have forgotten the truth about the war and the titans, living in the shadow of a traumatic war that although they know that it happened, they cannot fully understand. It is within this new contemporary society that the forgotten members of the Survey Corps are reincarnated, carrying within them the memories of Ymir’s people.
Levi is a social worker who leads a quiet life until he generates an anxiety disorder seemingly out of nowhere, which is accompanied by chilling nightmares that bring uncanny visions from a time before. Everything will take an interesting turn when he meets Petra, which will force him on a journey through his past to discover the truth about the forgotten Great War.
