Lying in the wild area happened to be one of your most tranquil experiences, especially since coming to the Isle of Armour. Your y/e/c orbs were peacefully shut, favorite pokemon curled into your side. The temperature had not been bad, but the weather above you was cloudy, threatening a future of rain. With the soft breeze occasionally whisping through your y/h/c locks, this was the true definition of peace.
Not too far off from where you lied, cerulean eyes had caught the sight. They were trained to your truly soft expression, something he rarely saw as he only approached you to battle nowadays. Sifting a slender finger through his long blond locks, he found a smile tugging upon his lips.
His blue eyes merely shifted from the sight once, to glance upon his slowpoke with a slender finger against his lips. As his gaze moved back to you, he realized he had not wished to disturb your peaceful figure. It was something he would waste hours simply relishing in, if he would have the chance to do so. Though he had claimed you to be his rival, he was not daft to his own feelings brewing. He knew he had been falling for your passion.
Maybe it had been pride that kept those words from uttering past his lips, or maybe he believed that one day he could simply telepathically tell you that he beat you the very first time, followed by those words. The blond believed in love at first sight, and the feelings merely evolved from kindling to a roaring fire over this past year. He watched you surpass him at every turn, and yet, he couldn't stop himself from loving you.
The shuffling of his feet had not gone unnoticed to you, your senses heightened as your eyes had been shut. Your lips curled neither upwards nor downward as they parted, calling out to the man gently. "You could just come over here, Avery," you murmured, moving your hand simply to place atop your pokemon, stroking it gently. "Y/f/p is rather fond of your slowpoke anyhow."
Avery allowed a sigh to escape his lips as he shuffled closer to you, cringing at the idea of lying upon the open grass. As his blue eyes caught your figure once more, he finally bit his lip gently, adjusting himself beside you. Slowpoke, unlike your pokemon simply curling into your side, had moved over to your own pokemon, curling into it as the four of you lied.
For a while, the two of you lied silent, though you could feel his cerulean eyes upon you. A slight hint of embarrassment lit your cheeks with crimson, though you simply slipped your hand atop his own slender hand. Though your eyes were shut, you intertwined your fingers with his own without hesitation from either party.
Lips curled upwards the slightest bit as the two of you simply relished in this moment, Avery a tad too flustered to question your actions. His fondness for you was nothing new to you, nor did you believe it was a shock that you felt the same sort of fondness. You had to redact your previous thought, as this tranquil moment was perfect.
After a year of having Avery as a rival, no one else truly held a candle to the blond. Everything about his reactions, his quirky personality, drew you in. At first, it had been stressful to deal with his shifts, until you realized the wall he had built up. With the knowledge that he simply attempted to keep everyone at arms length to protect himself, you understood the blond more.
After a while, at the point you could feel the daunting rain in your bones, your eyes slitted, shifting to meet cerulean eyes. Opening them fully upon eye contact, you felt your lips curl upwards the slightest bit more. In this tranquil moment, your words slipped past your lips before you had the chance to reel them back in. "You know I love you, right?" You murmured, before your eyes shifted to the clouded sky, growing darker by the moment.
As if it was a knowledge his subconscious held, his answer held no hesitation. "Yes, I do," he said, before those words truly hit. For a moment, it flickered in his mind that how could he possibly be worth your time, as you had the ability to be far more open.
You chuckled softly at his words, knowing that in this comfortable moment, it was just fine that he had just known. His hand gently squeezing upon your own, gaze practically never leaving you, was the proof you needed. Even if he had not known himself, you had, and it was fine for you.
"Good," you said simply, moving your free hand to pet your pokemon, before shifting to give slowpoke a nice pet. "I doubt you'll be pleased lying here as the rain starts, so if you'd like, we could walk back to the Dojo together." Though you said it as a statement, it held more of a questioning end to it, your y/e/c orbs shifting to meet his gaze before you moved to gently get up.
Before you got the chance to do more than simply move out from under your pokemon, you felt slender arms draping around you, the man who was previously at your side now practically on top of you. "Y/N," he started, his gaze already faltering as he pinned you down.
Reaching upwards, you gently tucked a stray lock of his blond hair behind his ear before pressing your lips against his own. The kiss had been chaste, quick, and yet you could feel him smile into it. A gentle crimson lied against both of your cheeks as you separated.
"I love you as well," he said finally, a hint of fluster to his tone as he moved to get off of you, reaching his hand out to help you up.
"I know," you replied with a giggle, though you gladly took his hand up, moving to intertwine your fingers once more as you stood to head back.
