Is That My Shirt? (Leon x Reader)

Summary:

Ever since Leon took over the Battle Tower, the two of you ended up getting a small apartment near the tower itself. It was a happy medium, where you would be able to do your own work, while he could run the Battle Tower without getting incredibly lost. Late evenings were regular for both of you, one or the other finally showing your face after darkness already engulfed the city around you.

Work Text:

Ever since Leon took over the Battle Tower, the two of you ended up getting a small apartment near the tower itself.  It was a happy medium, where you would be able to do your own work, while he could run the Battle Tower without getting incredibly lost.  Late evenings were regular for both of you, one or the other finally showing your face after darkness already engulfed the city around you.

Hearing shuffling in the kitchen, you were ripped from your slumber, grogginess still looming over you.  Lazily reaching your arm out, you pulled your sweet warmth off of you, flinging the blanket aside.  Blinking slowly, you moved yourself to a seated position.  By Arceus, what time even is it? You thought to yourself.

Grimacing, you lifted yourself off of the bed, onto your feet.  Your steps reflected the necessity for slumber, while your hand pawed gently at the hallway wall to keep your balance.  Being a small apartment, it was not long before your vision was filled with unwelcoming light.

Adjusting to that light, you leaned against the wall groggily as your eyes landed upon what looked to be an equally tired tanned boyfriend of yours.  A sleepy smile crossed your features as you watched him finishing up his glass of water, clearly half awake.  Watching him set the glass down, his yellow eyes finally landed upon your frame in the doorway, gazing curiously at him with your own y/e/c eyes.

Instead of his typical questions, pertaining to if he had woken you, that was not the first thing to come out of his mouth.  You could see his lips curling upwards as he spoke.  "Is that my shirt, Y/N?" The purple haired male asked in a sly tone, grogginess seeming to drip away as he did.

You felt a touch of blush rise in your cheeks at his words, before your y/e/c eyes shifted downward to double check.  With your own grogginess holding your mind, you had to physically see that Leon's oversized competition shirt adorned your body.  Legs exposed despite what it and your unders covered up, your cheeks fully burned crimson.  "Maybe," you said dismissively, though a smile was pulling at your lips as you spoke.

His own lips seemed to tug upward more at your flustered look, before he set the cup down fully.  Moving closer towards you, he spun you around with his strong, tanned arm.  "It looks perfect on you," he murmured in a cheeky tone, though exhaustion was clear in each word he spoke.  If he had not already been televising that he was tired, the yawn that came after his words made it more than obvious.

The two of you walked the hallway together, where he had not even bothered to change into slumbering clothes before collapsing onto the bed.  You had turned to make your way to your own side, before you felt his hand playfully tug you back.  This action resulted in you landing messily on top of your purple haired boyfriend, a chuckle escaping your lips.  As you removed your stray locks of y/h/c hair that had fallen in his vision, you moved yourself to a comfy position.

Not soon after, you arched your neck towards him, planting a soft kiss upon his lips.  You could practically feel the stress that he had welled up melting away at your touch.  The kiss was gentle, innocent, and a little messy due to both of your exhaustion levels.

"Maybe one of these days I'll be able to see you before the dead of night," you teased him as the two of you separated, curling into his arms comfortably.

Your head rested upon his shoulder, stray strands of purple hair tickling your skin.  His arms warmed you comfortably as the two of you lied, and you listened to the pattern of his heartbeat as best as you could.  Moments like this, you could not help but relish in, no matter how exhausted you were.

"We need to take a day off together," he replied lightly, his arms holding you closer as he spoke.  After his initial words, he craned his neck downward the slightest bit to brush a kiss upon the top of your head.  Shutting his yellow eyes, he continued.  "I miss you on these long days."

"I miss you as well, Leon," you whispered back, your voice never daring to go above a whisper by this point.  It was as if exhaustion would overhear you and cause you to spend less time with your eccentric boyfriend.  "Every day that you're in that tower I do, but I know what you do is important."

He chuckled the slightest bit, as if he only found your words to be halfway funny.  In actuality, his lips curled down the slightest bit as he wondered if what he was doing was truly something that was important.  Important to him, maybe, but he never felt he was truly making a difference in that tower.  He merely allowed people to pass tiers by beating him.

Instead of making his concerns well-known, he simply hummed in reply, relishing in the warmth that your body shared with his own.  Though he knew your own work had left you busy often as well, he could not help but allow his mind to wander.  He wondered if he could in fact find some time that the two of you would actually get that vacation together.  Even if it was simply a day, it would be a wonderful thing to have you by his side for longer than your slumbering hours.

The two of you were both much too tired to lay and have a bit of a chin-wag, while both of you could feel your eyes closing on their own.  You took the moment, as you did any nighttime moment with Leon, to simply appreciate his presence by your side.  Though he was lying beside you, as your eyes began to close, you pictured that face he made when he saw that you were standing in his tshirt.  That little smirk of his haunted you until your last moments of consciousness, leaving a smile against your lips.  It took merely a few minutes to fall asleep in his arms, him slowly following suit.
