Dance With Me

Summary:

A party. A fistfight. A kiss under the moonlight. A magic moment for a pair of lesbian lovers.

Work Text:

Emily held onto Shelby’s arm as they walked up a dimly lit driveway. The pair had been invited to a friend’s graduation party, but it wasn’t exactly the type they had expected. The hostess had specified formal attire, supposedly so that they could recreate the feeling of an unregulated prom night.

Shelby wore a long dress, it’s design leaving not much to the imagination as her cleavage was easily shown. It’s soft fabric was black, slowly fading into a soft blue at the bottom. Emily had picked it out for her after her old prom dress got ripped while… doing girl things. Emily wore a red-maroon off-shoulder dress, perfectly contrasting with her bright red hair and blue glasses. Stepping up onto the front porch, Shelby rang the doorbell, assuming that the noise inside would drown out any chances of being heard. Emily shivered slightly, her usual nervousness kicking in already.

Shelby brought her other hand to Emily’s arm. “Don’t worry. It’s just a party, we’ll have a good time, and then we can go home.” Shelby leaned in, kissing Emily’s cheek as the door opened.

“WOAH! Well isn’t it the ladies of the hour!” A boy who appeared to be a junior stood in the doorway, a half drunk beer in his hand.

“Haha, very funny John.” Shelby led Emily inside as John stepped out of the way. Emily looked behind her as John waved while shutting the door. The hallway leading into the kitchen was surprisingly empty, but the living room seemed to be the mosh pit. The kitchen had a few people standing around an island, seemingly having their own conversation around a snack tray.

Shelby waved to them as they walked by, but Emily noticed that she was getting more looks than she really would like to get.

Going off to the left was an entertainment room, where the hostess herself was busy helping set up a film using a projector and laptop.

“Hey Brittany!” Shelby yelled as she entered the room, causing Emily to blush with embarrassment. The girl turned around from the computer, her frustration turning into a beaming smile.

“I didn’t think you’d come,” Brittany spoke. “Is this the special lady?” She pointed at Emily, causing the redhead to look away.

“Hello…” Emily responded softly.

“You’ll get used to the noise, darling.”

“I don’t remember you getting a projector,” Shelby remarked.

Brittany laughed heartily, slapping the table behind her. “We stole it from the theater club!” She continued laughing, tears forming in her eyes.

Emily tugged on Shelby’s arm, wanting to signal her discomfort. “Well, try not to get in too much trouble with it.” Leaving the room, Shelby and Emily went to the dining room, hoping to find a place to have at least a little calmness to it.

It had been maybe, an hour by the time that Emily felt discomfort again. She really didn’t know anybody at the party, so she kept to herself in a chair in the corner of the dining room.

Shelby had gone off to talk with some of the other guests at the party, letting Emily get some alone time. However, she couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching her. Squirming around in her chair, she scanned across the dining room, and the part of the living room that she could make out. On the other side of the mosh pit, she saw him. A guy who appeared to be a senior was staring at her while against the living room wall. She fidgeted around more and looked down at the ground, hoping that he didn’t notice her eyesight. After a few minutes she looked up again, nearly falling out of her seat with fear as she saw the same guy in front of her. He reached down and grabbed her wrist, pulling her up out of the chair.

“Come with me,” he said gruffly. Emily tried to pull herself away, but his grip was like an iron vice. He practically dragged her through the kitchen and down the hallway, before stopping at the door. “Let’s go.”

Emily tried once more to pull herself away, but failed. As the man opened the door, she slammed her heel down on his foot, causing him to cry out in pain and loosen his grip.

He lunged at her, only to fail and hit the wall with his face. Emily backed against the open doorway, leaving herself open for him to take a shot again. Once more he lunged, only for her to step to the side and let him fly through the open doorway. Tripping on the edge of the doorway, he landed roughly against the concrete porch.

Standing up for a last time, he tried coming back inside the house. Shelby came running down the hallway to check on Emily hugging her as the man viewed his target. Shelby turned around and brought her fists up.

“Don’t even think about it.”

“Oh, look the nerd’s emo girlfriend showed up. I’d like to see you try.” He brought his hands down, letting Shelby get the perfect punch on him.

Shelby put her left foot forward and brought her elbows to her breasts. Bringing her right arm back she swung, rotating her body to put as much weight behind it as possible. With her right foot pivoting, her fist slammed into the man’s face. Emily gasped as Shelby clocked the man, causing him to fall out the doorway and onto his back. Shelby closed the door, locking it shut.

“Thank you!” Emily jumped into Shelby’s arms, tears running down her cheeks as she was held in her savior’s grasp.

Shelby smiled warmly, holding Emily’s bottom as she carried the girl through the house, drowning out the cheers as she reached the rear patio. It’s quiet darkness was in stark contrast to the brightness and noise of the party.

Letting Emily stand by herself, Shelby led her to the railing. Turning around and pushing herself up, she sat looking back at the house. With Shelby’s extra boost in height, she was now taller than Emily, but not by much.

“You have no idea how much that meant to me…” Emily spoke gently.

“It’s not that big of a deal. If anything I’m at fault for leaving you there.”

“No! That’s not what I meant but, how did you throw a punch like that?”

“I took some self-defense classes when I changed my hair.” Shelby ran a few fingers down the length of her black and blue locks. “I didn’t want people dragging me into groups with the wrong kinds of people, so I wanted to protect myself.”

“It was perfect.” Emily stood up and put her hands on either side of Shelby’s thighs. Leaning in, she kissed her passionately, leaving a small saliva trail between their lips.

“If anyone could be considering perfect it’s you.” Shelby closed in for another kiss, letting them just enjoy the moment together.

“You’re such a tease.” Emily brought herself down, kissing Shelby’s beauty mark on the inside of her breast. Shelby gasped, and then giggled as Emily slyly smiled.

Emily burst out laughing as she looked over her handiwork, causing Shelby to look down. Sure enough, a red lipstick mark was around the beauty mark, shining proudly in the moonlight.

Shelby bit her lip, realizing her internal desires were starting to come into effect.

“I’m not sure how you do it, but you manage to always hit the right buttons.” Shelby hopped down from the railing, giggling. Emily stepped back, offering her hand. Instead Shelby brought her hands to the sides of Emily’s head and kissed her. Her kiss seemed to last forever, but it certainly set off both of their switches. By the end of the kiss their mouths were sloppy messes of love, covered in smeared lipstick and saliva. Shelby took Emily’s hand in hers and pulled her back into the house. The pair ran through the house, giggling like a group of well, girls. The sight was just pure awe to the other party-goers, but the pair already knew what would happen the second they got home.
