"What is Y/N L/N doing in Spikemuth?" A reporter managed to push their way into the group, as your lips curled into a gentle frown.
Not being attacked by fans, you thought grimly to yourself, wishing you could simply push through the crowd into the safe haven of anywhere but here. Quickly fixing your frown with a sheepish smile, you said, "Trying to relax," in a relatively flat tone. "I just came out here to visit a friend."
"A boyfriend maybe?" The reporter tried to press, already getting on your nerves.
"No," you replied. No matter how much you crushed on your handsome punk friend, you in no way were going to implicate that to the press. On top of the fact that he was unaware of the crush, you could only imagine what he would have to deal with from his own fans. "Now, if you'll excuse me…"
"I could be your boyfriend," a fan chimed in, his hand grabbing at your hand as he spoke. "You're so cute, Y/N."
Tightening fists and pursed lips, the man could not stop staring in your direction. As you were surrounded by cacophony noises of fans, you had no opportunity to even notice that the handsome black and white haired male was getting mad. You could not even feel the teal eyes that stared daggers at each and every person surrounding you, though they narrowed specifically on the man holding your hand.
Though embarrassed blush threatened to rise in your cheeks, you flinched away from the man abruptly. Air tightened around you as the questions kept coming, the one guy that kept hitting on you not seeming to go away. Arceus forbid you leave your house. You were nervous enough coming to Spikemuth, knowing you wanted to actually talk to Piers about an important matter, or at least, something you found important. The barrage of fans was growing your discomfort to the point that fight or flight was kicking in, everyone becoming a dull noise.
It took a little effort, but as you were finally squeezing past the fans, you turned the corner to quickly be pulled away, causing a squeak to pass your lips. Catching your breath, you felt your body lean against something as you tried to get over the discomfort you had just experienced. Heart finally slowing back down, oxygen returning to your lungs, you were thankful for the wall you were leaning against. When what you were leaning on brought lanky arms tightly around you, you melted right into it.
"You have impeccable timing," you said sarcastically, a smirk forming upon your lips as you were finally regaining your composure completely. "I swear they were about to eat me."
He chuckled softly, before setting you free from his arms. "If I came to your aid, I may have broken someone's hand," he muttered sharply, before realizing exactly what he had said. Blush rose in his cheeks as he glanced away. "I got ya when I could."
You rolled your eyes, though the words he spoke brought you back. It took more than a moment to realize what he had meant when he said that, until you remember the male that was touching you. Maybe, you thought warmly, before your y/e/c eyes flickered back over to your handsome friend, blush threatening to rise in your own cheeks.
Reaching up to brush a stray strand of hair from the man's face, your fingertips gently brushed his pale skin, causing a shiver to fall down your spine. "I appreciate it, Piers," you said, your lips curling into a smirk as you spoke, thinking each word out before it passed your plush lips. "Though you're cute when you're jealous."
If the man in front of you was physically able to get any paler than he already was, he had, his blue eyes wide. Quickly, he turned his face away from you, trying to hide his shock as he focused upon slowing his increased heart rate. "What are you insinuating?" He replied, a small stutter clear in his voice.
Rolling your eyes, you replied, "You know exactly what I mean, Piers." As you spoke, you felt your heart rate quicken once more, breath practically hitching in your throat as you second guessed yourself. Did I seriously just say that , you mentally chided. Your voice was barely above a whisper as you spoke. "I mean, if you're not into me, that's cool, too. I-uh…sorry." Words quickly turning into word vomit, you managed to lose your confidence quickly as you spoke, growing sheepish as you did. Arceus, I'm an idiot.
Piers noticed your face visibly flustering, his teal eyes watching you intently. As he saw that you were nearly as flustered as he, his lips curled into a gentle smile. Since you had become champion, he rarely managed to see you, but nothing inside of him faded from the time away. Taking in your radiance, he debated whether or not to speak, or merely hold you in this moment.
Long, slender arms wrapped back around you, pulling you back into his warmth. Though you were used to his in private hugs, this one somehow felt warmer than the prior ones you received. Somehow, you could feel his heartbeat through his chest as he held you to him.
"I guess I'm just trying to say I love you," you said, your voice small as you worried that those arms were comforting you instead of simply showing he felt the same towards you.
Piers was never one for words, despite his own stage presence. An almost amused chuckle escaped his lips, before you felt him moving once again. Before you had the chance to say anything more, to second guess yourself, he craned his neck downward, pressing his lips to your own. That brutal sarcasm you were used to faded into bliss as you felt his lips move against your own, moving soft yet vigorously.
Your own lips pressed against his in response, leaving a lingering kiss upon his lips that made your knees weak. Feeling one of his hands move to the base of your neck, he deepened the kiss. Melting into the embrace, and into the sweet taste of his lips, you could not help feeling absolute bliss.
The only point that your kiss was interrupted was the point that your lungs were screaming for oxygen, both of you panting as you sunk more into his arms. Piers had to use all his might, despite his oxygen deprived mind as he willed himself to say those three words back to you. Though he meant them dearly, sincerely, it was always so hard for him to express these words vocally. "I love you, too," he murmured, a bashful smile already making it's way to his own lips.
"So Champion Y/N L/N does have a boyfriend!" An annoying reporter cut in, completely ruining your tender moment.
Piers's face filled with blush as he separated from you quickly in the presence of annoying company. In actuality, neither of you were sure what you were, but as your face heated with ten shades of red, your y/e/c eyes glanced over to Piers. This was your silent plea for him to save you, and he surprised you by biting his lip gently, moving his hand to grip your own.
"Yes, the best boyfriend I could ever ask for," you said with a smirk, watching as Piers blushed even more. Your fingers intertwined with his own felt like heaven, and by Arceus, you felt much more confident than prior. "Now, if you'll be kind enough to give me some time alone with him, that would be wonderful."
Thankfully, this time the reporter had gotten the hint, and you leaned back against Piers, fingers still intertwined with his own. "Finally," you whispered, a soft chuckle following it as you finally felt at peace. Another reassuring squeeze of your hand caused your y/e/c eyes to glance back up at him.
