Chapter Text
Mammon sneaked inside of Satan's library, looking for something valuable to sell again. He'd probably run or jump out of the window when he's there again, staring at him.
"Ain't even worth any, these books." Mammon sighed.
Mammon rolled his eyes, deciding to walk out of the room but he tripped.
"Augh! Fuck!" Mammon cursed, looking down on the book.
"Fuckin' hell..." Mammon smiled.
The book was covered in gold. Golden hell that is, it shined. Mammon squatted down, taking the book.
"Twisted Wonderland?" Mammon smirked.
"Kind of funny book?" Be opened the pages but all were empty.
Mammon clicked his tongue. "No pages but it's covered in gold. Still worth snatching I guess."
Mammon stood up, but ink started appearing on the pages. "What kind of..."
Words appeared before Mammon's eyes. "Twisted Wonderland... A magical world of villains..."
"Mammon what are you doing inside my room?!" Satan yelled.
"Oh shit-" Mammon saw the book shining.
Satan ran. "Wait! That book is hexed and I'm still trying to!-"
Mammon dispersed into light, getting sucked into the book. "-Get rid of the hex..."
Satan groaned, taking the book but a lock formed on it. "Damn it, this idiot..."
Mammon opened his eyes slowly. It was dark... DARK?!
"Where?! WHERE THE HELL AM I?! MICHAEL! MICHAEL IS THAT YOU?! MICHAEL LET ME OUT!!" Mammon banged on the door.
"MICHAEL!!" His breath hitched. "LET ME OUT!"
"What the hell? Is this human really talking?"
Light filled Mammon's eyes. Before him was a... Cat? Demon?
"WHO'RE YOU?!" Mammon asked.
"I DON'T KNOW?! WHO ARE YOU?!" The creature spoke.
"WHERE AM I?!" Mammon exclaimed, climbing down from his... Holding cell- HELL IT WAS A COFFIN!
Mammon willed his tears in as he grabbed the cat? Demon? By the neck. "WHO ARE YOU?! WHERE THE HELL AM I?!"
"Let go! Are you asking me?! Me?! Where you are?!"
"YES! WAS IT MICHAEL WHO SENT YOU?! FATHER?! LUCIFER?!"
"W-Who are you talking about?! Who's Michael?! Lucifer?!"
Mammon gritted his teeth, throwing the... Cat? Demon? On the ground.
"YOU THINK THIS IS A JOKE?!" Mammon wiped his tears.
"I'm gettin' out of this- THIS PLACE WORSE THAN THE CELESTIAL REALM AND MICHAEL!"
Mammon started walking away but the... Cat? Demon? Got on his head.
"Get off me!" "Wait! Just give me that uniform! So I can enter this school! And you can go back to wherever you came from!"
Mammon threw the... Cat? Demon? Away.
"Look you demon! If I owe you money, go to Lucifer so he can torture the hell out of me! I'm fine with his punishments, so go!"
Mammon ran towards the exit.
"Lucifer?! Who is that?!"
Mammon ran into the hallways. Surely it did not... Look like R.A.D, and it was old looking. Mammon trudged the hallways, then saw a library.
"You're not going anywhere!" It was that... Cat? Demon? Again.
But this time, flames of blue sparked around Mammon. The dark already made him relive his trauma and now flames. Is this...
"LOOK!" Mammon was never that good with curses but he sure is greedy with stealing others... Let's say, powers.
He made the flames burn brighter but in his color, gold.
"I AM NOT HERE TO MESS WITH YOU OR ANYONE. I JUST WANT TO GO BACK HOME, KILL YOU OR BEHEAD THE ONE WHO THREW THAT BOOK INTO SATAN'S COLLECTION!"
"How... How did you control over my magic?!"
Mammon laughed. "I'm a Demon! Demon lord?!" He chided but the... Cat? Demon? Just stared at him as if he was a lunatic.
"Ever heard of the Fallen Angels?!" Mammon gestured to... All... Of Him?
"This is impossible!"
"Oh for crying-"
"Mew!" The... Cat? Demon? Cried out as something struck him to the ground.
"What was that?!"
"Consider it tough love." A new voice. Great, Just Great.
Mammon looked at the way of this... Masked man with glowing yellow eyes.
"Splendid! You're the new students admited to the academy are you? My, were you ever eager to make your debut?"
Mammon calmed himself down, standing head to head with him. "Look here Old Man-"
"And bringing! A poorly trained familiar with you? That's clear violation of the school rules."
Mammon groaned. "Are you posing as a new Academy in Devildom?! Who are you?!"
"As if I'd serve some lowly human! Now lemme go!"
Mammon's patience sure was getting loose. Did the book transfer Wrath as his sin?
"FIRST OF ALL! I'M NOT HUMAN!" Mammon yelled.
His eyes widened but he quickly sighed. Frowning but still a little... Furious? "And second of all! I am Millennia's old, I only go to school 'cause of Lucifer! And I am already in school! I am nearly graduated- what do ya mean I'm a first year?!"
"What do you mean you're not human?" The masked man spoke.
"First of all Mr. Masked Man who speaks like Barbatos on drugs, what's your name?" Mammon sighed dramatically.
"I am the Headmage of Night Raven College, Dire Crowley. And you are?"
"Wait! Did you forget about me?!" Crowley placed his hand on the... Weasel's mouth.
"Untrained familiars are the hardest to control. You were saying?"
"Mammon... Mammon Morningstar..." Mammon scratched his neck.
"What a unique name... My! We're late for your orientation. We shall talk later, First Let us return to the Mirror Chamber."
Mammon let out an exasperated moan. "What's the Mirror Chamber?! And Why am I a student?!"
"You have awakened in a room full of gates, did you not?"
Mammon's eyes widened. "SO YOU'RE THE ONE WHO PUT ME IN THE DARK?! IS MICHAEL WORKING WITH YOU?! ARE YA HERE TO PUNISH ME OR SOMETHING?!"
"Pardon me but Young Morningstar-" "Mammon." He glared at him.
"Young Mammon, who is this Michael?"
Mammon clenched his fist. He shook his head, sighing as he let out a small smile. "No one. Continue, please."
Crowley cleared his throat. "All of the students here at the campus arrived by passing through such gates. Although typically, the students have restraint enough to wait until I open them before waking up."
"So those coffins are like gateways?" Mammon scoffed. "Well Mr. Barbatos on Drugs-" Crowley smiled. "I prefer Headmage."
"Yeah- No. Mr. Barbatos on Drugs, this piece of shit here blew the lid off mine." Mammon smiled.
"The culprit appears to be that familiar of yours."
"He is not my familiar! If anythin' I have a child. And his name is Little D. No. 2" "But you are the one who insisted on bringing it, so curtailing its behavior is your responsibility."
"Okay okay okay." Mammon chuckled. "Now, Lucifer gives me a task to take care of another child he miraculously popped out because Satan grew up and he decided to lure me to it as a secret! Okay! Well played."
"But now is not the time for such prattle. We can talk about your... Issues later on. You've a student orientation to attend!"
Mammon groaned. "Fuck..."
Crowley placed a hand on his shoulder. "Go on, now. Make haste."
"But Mr. Barbatos on drugs, can ya tell me more about this... Place?"
"We shall talk while we walk, go on. I am kind after all."
In the courtyard. "Ehem. This is ‘Night Raven College’. It's a place where humans with magical abilities, and with exceptional talents gather. Twisted Wonderland’s most prestigious magic training academy. And I am the headmaster supervising this academy under the board chairman, Dire Crowley."
"Okay. Magic? What? As in ya lowsey humans are trying to be the next Solomon?"
"I'm afraid I don't know who that is but- The only ones who could enroll to this school are with those excellent qualities as a magician, the ones who have been approved by the 'Mirror of Darkness’. The chosen ones are called into this academy through the 'door’, from all over the world. In your place, too, surely a black carriage carrying a 'door’ came to pick you up."
"Well no- A book sure did." Mammon laughed.
"That's unusual because only doors can lead you to here..." Crowley's hand was in his chin, he pondered.
"Well for now let me explain it to you. That black carriage is intended to pick up the new students chosen by the Mirror of Darkness. It is a special carriage carrying the door that leads to the academy. From time immemorial, it has been decided by conventional wisdom that carriages are used for pick-ups on special occasion, am I right?"
"Okay well, Ya said 'conventional wisdom’, but whose conventional wisdom is it?"
"MMMMMGH! NGHHHH!"
"Come now, we're late for the opening ceremony."
