Summary
Harry tucks his chin into the homemade knit scarf and shoves his hands into his pockets, intending on heading to the diner for that coffee and muffin and a reprieve from the memories. Except, there’s a delighted shout coming from the ancient playground equipment, followed by a shrill shriek and then a laugh that Harry never thought he’d hear again.
Louis. Louis is here. Harry’s first instinct is to leave. They haven’t spoken since Jay passed away and in Harry’s long list of regrets, this is a big one, the main one. Louis - Louis who made Harry into the person he is. Louis who encouraged him to follow his dreams from day one. Louis who had been Harry’s first everything.
He’s warring with himself. Part of him wants to go right to Louis and see him, see if he’s still sunshine personified. Part of him wants to flee and hide from him. He doesn’t want Louis to see him like this - the person who slept until 11 AM this morning and then rolled out of bed without even looking in the mirror.
