They felt like they were gonna throw up. They were so annoying. Annoying. Annoying. ANNOYING. Zephyr spent so long ranting and crying to themselves that they weren’t even aware of their surroundings and walked into the large doors of the daycare face first.
“OW- FUCK.” The brunette staggered back, rubbing their forehead whilst bending down to pick up the glasses that fell off their face. Fixing their glasses, and wiping the tears off their cheeks, they breathed out heavily.
“Okay, Zeph. Stop crying and get your shit together.” They slapped at their puffy cheeks and pushed the large daycare doors open. Alright, time to start the night shift. Before they properly stepped in, they were greeted by a super giddy Sun that’s been waiting ALL DAY for Zephyr’s arrival!
“DEWDROP! I’VE- WE’VE BEEN WAITING ALL D- Oh my gosh, are you okay? Your cheeks are all puffy and your eyes are red. Were- were you just crying?” The Daycare attendant’s tall frame kneeled down to Zephyr’s eye level. Sun then raised his hands up and gently rest his large hands on their chubby cheeks.
“Dewdrop, y’know I-“ Sun stopped himself and decided to stay quiet. He didn’t wanna say anything that could potentially make them feel even worse than before. He just looked at them, whilst they look at him. Quiet. Not saying a word. It was getting awkward, the tension was so thick, that you most likely wouldn’t be able to pierce it with the strongest of knives.
Suddenly, one of both Sun and Moon’s worst fear just happened in front of them. Their favourite person in the whole UNIVERSE broke down and started crying. If the Sun-themed animatronic’s smile could fall, it would’ve dropped a while ago.
Sun and Moon were both panicking inside of their shared headspace. They were used to crying children, but Zephyr was a whole different story.
DO SOMETHING SUN! Moon yelled inside of their head, he didn’t like seeing them cry. In fact, they hated it. They want it to just end. They swear if they get their hands on whatever made their Starshine cry.
“MOON, I AM TRYING!” Zephyr flinched and stumbled back hearing him yell. Sun on the other hand, let out a panicked whimper when he realized that he shouted right in their face out of stress. The chubby brunette facepalmed remembering that Sun and Moon share a headspace.
“Sunshine, I am SO sorry for yelling I’m so, so sorry I-“ Zephyr pulled Sun into a hug and patted his back, sniffling, “It’s alright.” They held that position for a while before Zephyr let go and took off their glasses to wipe their tears.
“I’m pathetic.”
Sun immediately looked at them, “Huh?! No, you’re not! I think you’re super cool and strong!” The animatronic scrambled to his feet and looked down at them. “Now tell me dewdrop, what’s got you feeling this way? You can talk to me…”
Zephyr sighed. “It’s…it’s literally just me.” Sun tilted his head, confused. “What do you mean?”
“I’m…I’m literally. Just SO ANNOYING. I’M PATHETIC. I’M AN AWFUL PERSON. Everyone hates me, I just know it! No wonder I always feel unloved and unappreciated…! I’m literally just the most stupid person on the entire fucking planet!” They started crying again. They grabbed at their curly brown hair sobbing. Sun and Moon’s metallic heart ached just hearing their starshine talk so badly about themselves. They had to do something. Sun let out a sigh and grabbed both of Zephyr’s hands…
“Zephyr, Zeph, Dewdrop, Starshine. Listen to me.” Zephyr looked up at him tears still strolling down their cheeks.“You are the most AMAZING! Person I- WE know! You’re so special in every single way, both I and Moony love you until the end of the universe. You’re cool and talented, and cute and pretty, and EVERY SINGLE GOOD THING!”
Zephyr smiled weakly hearing his words. Sun continued his words, “And if anyone thinks differently, they can.. they can - They can F̴̐͘U̴̒͘C̸̓͝K̸̈̽ off!” Honestly, Zeph was stunned hearing Sun force profanity through his filter. But they appreciated it. A lot. They both stood there for a second before Zephyr pulled Sun into another loving hug. “Thank you Sunny.”
“Don’t mention it Dewdrop! I’m only saying the truth!” He patted Zeph’s back and nuzzled his head into their chest. “Y’know, Moon wants to say something too! We can turn off the lights right now if you’d like.” The brunette let go of Sun and sniffled, “Yeah, I’d like that. I wanna see Moony.”
“Alright, Starshine!” Zephyr walked to the light switch then turned it off. The entire darkness went into pitch darkness, as Sun stepped back to begin the transition. Zephyr watched as Moon came out.
“Hello Starlight.~”
