Audio Transcript
Antonio "Racetrack" Higgins: Hey guys–
Albert Dasilva: Hello everyone–
RH: I thought we said I was doing the intro this time.
AD: No, you did the intro last week.
RH: Fine. Go ahead
AD: He-
RH: Hey guys, welcome back to The A+ Podcast, this is episode six and today we'll be talking about how we met!
(Giggling)
AD: I hate you.
RH: You're dating it.
AD: Whatever. As my boyfriend said as he so rudely interrupted me–
RH: Hey–
AD: –today we'll be explaining how we met and got together.
RH: It's a sparkly story–
AD: Sparkly?
RH: –filled with spunk, heartbreak, and pining. Lots and lots of pining.
AD: Most of the pining was on your end.
RH: That's– that's actually just a lie, and you know it.
AD: It is. Love you, Tones.
RH: Love you too, Al.
AD: Okay, anyway. I think it all started in geometry–
RH: No, no. We knew each other before that.
AD: You're right. We met in middle school– sixth grade–
RH: And I was the top student.
AD: No, I was the top student.
(A beat of silence, then laughter.)
AD: See, this was our problem.
RH: We were always competing in every subject. English, history, science–
AD: Spanish when we got to high school.
RH: And math.
AD: Right. And math. But you were always a little ahead.
RH: I'm math-brained.
AD: …
RH: Listeners, please know Albert just rolled his eyes.
AD: Hey–
RH: Just continue the story, babe.
AD: Okay. So we were pretty much even in everything else, but Race always beat me at math by a little bit. Like, I had an A- and he had an A+ with a 101%.
RH: We were a little competitive.
AD: A little?
RH: A lot.
AD: So eventually, we got to high school. And because we were both advanced, we got placed in the same class– geometry. Honors geometry.
RH: Which, if you don't know, includes a lot of proofs.
AD: Proofs. The one math concept I was better than Race at.
RH: It infuriates me to this day.
AD: Does it?
RH: (Ignoring him) And this is where our story really starts.
AD: So sit back, relax, and enjoy, because this is a story–
RH: A sparkly story–
AD: –that we like to call The Ralbert Report.
RH: I thought we weren't calling it that.
AD: We are definitely calling it that.
