Summary
“That I am, young master Henituse. My name is Henry Valentine, and I hope to be your tutor.”
“You can call me by my first name when it’s just the two of us. It’s what friends do, Cale.”
The redhead looked up at him with big eyes.
“...Really? I’ve never had an adult friend before! I've always been told to stay away from the vassals, and it's not like there's anyone else to talk to.”

“Then it’ll be our little secret, okay?” He said gently, tucking the flower behind his ear with a smile.
Or,
An alternative take on og!cale’s childhood.
In which 9 year old Cale, after turning down the various tutors his father had painstakingly selected for him, finally agrees to study under a tutor, getting tired of the constant nagging.
To his surprise, his new teacher is.. surprisingly nice? He seemed to have seen through his trash act, and he sympathizes with him. Starved and craving the affection and validation he doesn't receive from at home, Cale finds it from his new teacher and Cale views him as a trusted friend. Everything is good, until it's not.
