Work Text:
It had been a wonderful day with your boyfriend, Klaus. The two of you walked hand in hand in the pumpkin patch, enjoying the hayride, and even sharing some hot chocolate. What made the day even better was when the two of you found the perfect pumpkin to take home. It was ROUND AND just the perfect size.
It wasn’t easy to lug it back into the city, but through some awkward maneuvering, you and Klaus were able to make it safely back to your apartment with the pumpkin in tow. Almost immediately, you began to spread out newspaper and grab a marker and a knife than sat down in front of the pumpkin.
Klaus watched you with a smile on his face up until you began to carve into the top of the pumpkin and started scooping the seeds and ‘guts’ out. “You didn’t tell me we had to carve it!” he shouted in distress.
His words stopped your actions as you looked over at your boyfriend. “What did you think was going to happen, Klaus?” you laughed, part of you believing that he was simply being his wonderful, dramatic self.
“I don’t know. Maybe you were just going to draw on it, not murder the poor thing!” Klaus said with crossed arms as he began to pout like a toddler.
Another chuckle escaped your lips, but you quickly stopped when you noticed how upset Klaus actually was. “I’m sorry, baby.” you apologized and wiped your hands off before you walked over and gave him a hug.
At first, Klaus tried to push you away before you could actually hug him, then he just stood there, stiff as a board, trying to fight his immediate reaction to hug you. “What can I do to make it up to you?” you asked as you continued to hug him, pressing kisses to his body wherever you could reach.
Klaus pondered for a moment before he looked up at you. “Get tipsy with me while watching cheesy Halloween movies?” he asked, innocently.
Throwing your head back in laughter, you quickly agreed and felt your own smile appear when you saw one grace Klaus’ face. As you began to unravel your arms to go and set up the TV and grab some alcohol, but Klaus rushed to grab your wrist and pull you back into his chest, now his turn to give you a big hug.
“Love you.” he whispered into your hair.
“Love you more.” you continued and felt content to spend the rest of your day wrapped in Klaus’ arms.
“Love you most.” he said with finality, and you couldn’t argue with that.
