Chapter 1: Do friends come in boxes?
Chapter Text
"DAD! I don't WANT to wear a dress!" Tamsin complained as her Dad brushed her hair. "Tamsin you have to, we're going to a party, you can't just wear your pajamas" Phil muttered as he was trying to get out a knot from his daughters unruly hair.
"Yes but why can't I wear a suit like you, Tech, and Wilbur!?"
"Because you're a girl, you need to wear girly things every once and awhile." He pulled back her hair so he was able to put it into neat a ponytail. "Now come on lets go show everyone else" he said as he gave a warm smile to his daughter.
They walked into the living room that was filled with a soft red glow from the fireplace along with a smell burning wood and ash. "Oh, my princess looks so beautiful!" Tamsin's mother picked her up and gave her kisses on her cheeks. "What are you? A barbie?" Wilbur said with a slight eye brow raise. "Wilbur! Don't say that, your sister looks beautiful!" she placed her daughter back on the ground next to her older brothers. Wilbur was in a black suit. He had a jacket that was unbuttoned revealing he had a white shirt underneath, fancy pants and dress shoes. while her other brother, Techno, didn't have the fancy jacket. Instead he had a white shirt on, matching Wilbur's and a thick red belt made from cloth.
"We should probably get going before we're late" her father said while opening the door.
"Ok love, come on kids lets go." Kristen began to usher her kids out the door and once they were all out Phil shut and locked it.
The wind was crisp, not weather for wearing a dress. Chills went down Tamsin's spine as goosebumps began to form. "Are you cold?" Wilbur said in a voice that made it abundantly clear he was picking on her. "Oh shut up Wilbur! You can't say anything, you're wearing pants and a jacket!" They both stuck out their tongues at each other. Neither of the parents intervened. They didn't mind their children bickering. they did it a lot. It was always just sibling rivalry.
Soon enough they finally arrived at the party. It was a big house, the biggest house Tamsin's ever seen. To Tamsin it was one million stories high but in reality it was only 5, but to a child's mind it's the same. "Why is there a fountain in the yard!? Those are supposed to be in parks! It doesn't make sense that there's one here." Tamsin pointed it out to her father who just told her that some people like to have fountains in their yards.
Knock Knock Knock "Oh My! It's so lovely to see you all. Come in, come in." The man held the door open for them while giving a smile to each of them. "Oh Sam, I'm so glad to see you again!" Kristen gave Sam a warm hug while Phil shook his hand. "Ok lets stop wasting time and head to the party room!" Sam said as he began to walk down a hall.
The man that greeted them was weird, but Tamsin was used to weird. Half of her family had some odd ability. Techno could turn into a walking pig man and even when he wasn't a weird pig man hybrid he had naturally pink hair, pointy ears and an oddly high heat tolerance. His Mum had wings and could turn into a 30 foot tall lady. His dad had wings as well, but this man was different he looked to be mixed with a man and a creature her family told him about. It was called a creeper. Creepers are supposed to blow up if you get too close to them for too long. Would this happen if Tamsin were to get close to him? She didn't want to test that theory.
"Here we are" Sam opened a door and it revealed a room filled with hundreds of people. "Ponk! look who's here." A person approached the rest of them. He had a tux on just like Sam, but while Sam had a green bow tie, Ponk had a red one. She was also wearing a face mask that had red, yellow and black splats and glops on it. The other thing about the type of mask they were wearing was that it was the type of mask that only reveals the persons eyes.
"Kristen! Phil! you both look stunning." Ponk wasn't wrong about that. Kristen was wearing a purple (nearly black but not quite) dress that covered her feet. The dress had puffy sleeves that showed the shoulders and were pulled together by a golden heart that sat on her chest. She also had a big floppy hat that had transparent purple material hanging from it. Phil had a green vest and a white undershirt, but over that was a unbuttoned black suit jacket with a matching pair of pants. He also wore a red heart to match Kristen instead of a tie and his classic green and white striped hat.
"Are these your kids? They all look dashing." Ponk looked at the two older boys then knelt down so he was making eye contact with Tamsin. "How are you? Your name is Tamsin right?" It was silent for a second before the girl opened her big mouth. "I don't like it here. Your house is weird. Fountains are only supposed to be in parks. It's stupid." Ponk sat there not knowing how to respond, they weren't good with children, that was Sam's thing. So instead she just stood up and repeatedly said it was ok and that she was sure Tamsin didn't understand what she was saying. Kristen and Phil scolded their daughter for saying something so rude.
"Hey Dad do you think I could wander a bit?" Wilbur asked after Phil and Kristen were done scolding Tam. "Yes of course Wil, but meet us back here in an hour." Phil placed his hand on Wil's shoulder silently telling him not to do anything stupid. "Thanks Dad see you in an hour." Wilbur sped off in the opposite direction.
"Can I go too Dad?" Tamsin looked up at her parents and gave them a sweet innocent look. "Fine but you have to run to catch up to Wil." Tamsin said thanks and gave a smile to her parents before running to catch up to her big brother.
Her little feet thumped down the empty hallway. Her parents always told her she was fast for being 6, but on the other hand Wilbur was 13 almost 14 and was much taller and faster than her. She finally got close enough to her brother to see him walk out a door with 2 other boys.
"WILBUR!" she yelled, it grabbed the brunette boys attention and he began to question her on why she was here. "Dad said I could come with Wil." The two boys Wilbur was with seemed to be his age. One of them had a smiley face mask and was wearing a pirate outfit. It looked a little uncomfortable but he didn't seem to mind. You could also see he had two goat horns sticking out of his dirty blond hair. The other boy that was there seemed to be the polar opposite of the other boy. He was wearing more comfortable clothes along with a white bandana, though you could barely see it because he had two little fire horns covering it up and a matching devil tail to go with it.
"Tamsin, I'm gonna take you back to our parents." Wilbur began to pick up Tamsin but quickly got the message that she didn't want that. "What! why?" Tamsin looked dumbstruck by what Wilbur had just said. "Because I want to hang out with my friends by myself" he replied as he pushed her back inside. "Come on, I want to get back to my friends" Wilbur dragged Tamsin back the way they came.
"I don't want to hang out with the boring adults!" she whined. "That's good because Techno's there too."
"Me and you both know Techno is just as boring as them."
"Then you're gonna have to deal with it till I come back."
"But that's an hour away, that's like a million hours long."
"Well you're just gonna have to suck it up. Ok, there's Mum and Dad there." he pointed to two people on the other side of the room laughing with the other two people from earlier. Tamsin frowned. Wilbur ran off. Then Tamsin thought. I could walk over to my parents and have a lousy time or I could turn down this other hallway, explore for a bit, then in an hour come back. Tamsin ran down the hallway that was to her left.
"This is sooo much better than hanging out with those annoying adults." Tamsin marched down the hallway. "Oh! Stairs!." The stairs were a mountain Tamsin had to climb on her fabulous adventure. At the top of the stairs, you could turn left or right. "Left, or right? Eenie meenie miney moe, catch a tiger by its toe, eenie meenie miney moe! Ok right we go!"
Another right and a left, then scale the mountain again. "Wait, where am I?"
All the hallways look the same. A red carpet with a gold trim and the white walls with half a pillar sticking out of the wall. Tamsin's eyes filled with tears. "NO! Crying is for babies!" She whiped the tears and started to try and trace back her steps, but after a few her memory began to fail.
"Did I take a left or a right here? Or did I come from those stairs?" She ran down the stairs and thought it would be best to just keep running downstairs till she got to the first floor and make her way back from there. She took lefts and rights and went down so many stair cases. "Ok the bottom floor. Lets go left!" Wandering in empty halls was eerie and made Tamsin's stomach churn. As she wandered more, she silently panicked. it was almost time to meet back with her parents and brothers. "WAIT! I can just go outside and run around to the front!" and off she went bursting out the first door that led to the outside.
"I-its a lot darker than I thought it was." she gulped. "Techno wouldn't be scared, so neither am I. Just run." The leaves crunched beneath her feet and she began to breath heavily. "Just keep running, don't think of the possible monsters chasing after you." She ran faster at that thought, and ran faster at any sound she thought that wasn't the fault of her pounding feet on the ground. She saw the weird fountain!
With a head turn she was able to see the tall dark oak doors. Speeding up the stairs and grabbing the silver hoop doorknob, she heard a slight sniffle. "Please don't be a monster, please don't be a monster." Tamsin turned around and was greeted by nothing. "Huh? I know I heard something."
Tamsin was a mischievous kid, and the thing about being the mischievous kid was that she needed something to be mischievous about, and for her to do that she needed to know what bad thing her brothers did that week and then blackmail them into doing something for her. Usually along the lines of bringing her extra sweets or playing on their computers. So she needed to have good ears to hear them whisper in their rooms. She could hear the quietest things from miles away, so she knew she wasn't hearing things but what did she hear? Slowly walking back down the marble stairs and approaching the fountain, she had definitely become closer to the sniffles. She thought she may not have time to investigate, but curiosity overruled that thought. She walked around the fountain to find a small boy sitting in a box crying.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" The question frightened the boy. He had been unaware anyone was near him. "I'm Tubbo." Tubbo looked up at the girl eyes puffy and red nose all stuffy. "That's such an odd name. What are you doing in a box?" 7 simple words picked out and organized in such a way made the boy cry heavily. This threw off Tamsin. She didn't know what to do, she's never had to deal with anyone crying before. "My- my dad." the boy was sniffling and gasping for air every half a second and was unable to get much out.
"Um. I-its ok." Tamsin took a seat next to the boy and looked at him a bit. "Um, is it ok if I pat you?" the boy nodded his head. Tamsin patted the boy on the back and reverberated the sentences "Its ok!" and "I'm sorry for asking such a rude question" even though she wasn't sure what she had done.
"It's ok, you didn't know." he took a deep breath . "My Dad tucked me in and said goodnight to me. I was holding my little bee plushy." Tubbo grabbed the bee plush that was sitting next to a bag of dried beef jerky. "Then I woke up an-and I-I was in this BOX!" Tubbo cried into his bee plush. Tamsin grew sympathetic for the poor boy.
"My name is Tamsin by the way" she looked forward not wanting to make eye contact with Tubbo.
"Huh?"
"My name is Tamsin. I never told you my name." It was silent between the two. Tamsin was able to hear the wind rustle in the tree tops and the sound of bunnies hopping just out of eye sight.
"That's an odd name." The rely was simple.
"HEY! That's rude!" Tamsin screamed.
"You said it to me first!" the boy chuckled at Tamsin's reaction. "Ok! SO?"
"Means you can't get mad at me." Tubbo stuck his tongue out at her. "Well, YOUR ears are weird!" she snapped back.
"Ha! You're just jealous!" Tubbo had little cow ears, one of them even had a tag on it like what you'd see with animals on farms. He also had the nose of some animal.
"What are you anyway, you can't be just human, not with those ears." Tubbo looked at her, for a second she was worried that he'd start crying again, I mean she liked the kid he was nice but Tamsin had a headache. "Oh. My Dad and Mum are part goat, so I guess that means I'm part goat."
"That's weird, but that's ok a lot of my family is too."
"Really? What's so weird about your family?" He raised his brow and crossed his arms and gave her a smirky look. "HEY! I'm serious! like my mother for example."
Outside the mansion the two kids talked about the wonders of the humanish world they lived in while just inside the mansion, panic rose for the two winged parents, looking for their featherless daughter.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
"Hey guys I'm back!" Wilbur smiled at his family who had been standing talking to a women he'd never seen before. She was tall and had purple galactic eyes with no pupils and transparent skin.
"Hello dear, where is your sister?" Wilbur was puzzled he left his sister with them. "I brought her back to you guys." He started pausing between every few words.
"Wilbur. Where. Is. Your. Sister." Kristen voice became stern and filled with anger. She was giving him the mom look. Her eyes were cold and filled with worry and anger.
"Um so, I was meeting up with my friends and I didn't want to her around so I walked her back to this room and told her to go over to you guys, then I went back to hanging out with my friends. she must have wondered off instead."
Phil broke at that. "WHAT! WHY DIDN'T YOU WALK HER OVER TO US!" Phil wasn't mad he was more worried that anything. "I TOLD HER TO GO OVER TO YOU GUYS! THIS ISN'T MY FAULT!"
"We'll talk about this later, right now we have to find Tamsin." Kristen Intervened trying to get back to the problem at hand.
"There's five floors and four of us." Techno had decided on the most productive way to find his little sister while his twin and Dad bickered. "We can each search a floor and whoever finishes their floor first can search the top floor." He didn't wait for a sign of people agreeing with his plan. He put down water he'd been drinking and walked to the hallway on the other side of the room, and just as he assumed they followed.
"Wilbur you're on the first floor, Kristen can you do the second floor? And Tech can you do the third?" They all nodded and the three of them went up the stairs while Wilbur was left on the first floor. "Stupid Tamsin. Why the hell does she always got to get me in trouble." He was angry at Tamsin for getting him in trouble, he was angry with his dad for not realizing it wasn't his fault. "Why does Tamsin always have to be so god damn difficult! Why can't she just listen to what I say for once!" Wilbur checked around corners and on shelves pretty much anywhere Tamsin would hide to take a nap or cause mischief.
"TAMSIN! CAN YOU COME OUT PLEASE?" Wilbur pulled to a sudden stop. The color in his face drained at what he saw. "Shit."
"GUYS! A door was left open!" Those are words a parent of a curious child would never want to hear, especially if its almost midnight. They all rushed down stairs and ran though the open door. "Phil go check the woods, I'm going to stay with they boys and search by foot."
The man lifted his wings and pushed off and soured over the tall spruce trees.
"TAMSIN! TAMSIN! TAMSIN!"
They walked around the house, checking behind every rattling bush they heard or saw but were only ever greeted by a woodlen creatures and zombies.
"TAMSIN!" Wilbur let out a yell. At first he was mad at his sister but now he'd become quite worried.
"Wil?" A small little girls head with calm blue eyes and an unruly head of golden hair popped up from behind the fountain. "TAMSIN!" they all screamed and Kristen pulled her daughter into a tight hug tears just forming but not falling.
"I'm so glad my baby is alright!" finally releasing her from the suffocating hug she replied with, "Of course I'm alright! I can take care of myself! I've even got a friend!" She stepped aside so they were able to see her new accomplice in crime.
"Oh, hello there little one." Kristen smiled at the little boy who seemed terrified of the amount of people who had shown up in such a short period of time. "His name is Tubbo. Can he live with us?" Kristen signaled for her husband to come down and silently told him to watch the three boys as she talked to Tamsin.
"Look Tamsin, he can't stay with us." Tamsin was filled with confusion, why couldn't they, he had no where else to go, had her mother not known that?
"But why not?" she looked up at her mother craving an answer.
"Because he probably has a family inside."
"But he doesn't." She looked at her daughter shocked, "I'm sorry?"
"He was left here by his father, you can ask him if you want. Granted if you do, he may start crying."
"Lets go back over and I'll talk to dad about it, ok?"
"Ok!" Tamsin rushed over to her new friend and began to chatter away and Kristen pulled her husband to the side.
"So apparently, based off of what Tamsin said, his father left him here. So we should take him home. There are monsters out here and they're already friends."
Phil thought about it and found the words to speak. "What about rooms? Where is he going to sleep?"
"He can sleep in Tamsin's room. He'll only be staying for a few weeks anyway, just until we can find him a new home." Phil sighed, "ok lets go tell them."
"Ok, Tubbo can stay with us till we find him a new home." While the older boys were confused the younger kids were ecstatic!
"Yes come on Tubbo, lets go!" Tamsin grabbed Tubbo's hand and pulled him to his feet and started to walk the way she thought was home.
"Hey wait miss missy!" that made Tamsin stop dead in her tracks. If she was ever called "miss missy" that means she was getting ahead of herself. "The way home is that way" Kristen pointed the exact opposite direction she had been leading Tubbo. "Oh sorry." She made a swift turn and started walking home while her family followed behind. Phil picked up the box the brunette boy had been sitting in. With a better look inside there was beef jerky, a small thin blue blanket and a golden coin. Phil picked up the coin and held it in his hand. It looked so familiar to him but he couldn't recall from where. "Come on love, lets go home."

Chapter Text
"TUBBO! WAKE UP!" Tamsin screams into the poor boys ears making Tubbo throw himself out of bed.
"It's time for breakfast mum made pancakes!" The news made Tubbo forget about the pain in his ears and he chases Tamsin out of the room into the kitchen. The new room the blonde and brunette had arrived in smelt of bread with some sweetness in it as well. It compelled Tubbo to take multiple deep breaths so he was able to pick out every scent he could get.
"Tubbo sit down!" Tamsin whined. She had already been sitting at the kitchen table. Tubbo rushes over and climbs into the seat next to Tamsin. Across from them were Tamsin's two brothers. He never got the chance to talk to them yet. On the way back from the party Tamsin was chatting his ears off until they got to the house and passed out simultaneously. Tamsin on her bed and Tubbo on Tamsin's carpet.
"Ok chicklets this is what we have. Plain pancakes, chocolate pancakes, and blue berry pancakes." Kristen placed down three plates Infront of the kids. While Tamsin and Wilbur fought for the chocolate pancakes techno grabbed a few of the blue berry ones. Tubbo just staired though. He has had pancakes before but never with a special ingredient such as chocolate or fruits.
"You ok Tubbo?" Tamsin said as placing a mountain of whipped cream on top of her pile of pancakes.
"I didn't know you could put stuff in pancakes." He said calmly.
"Wait so your saying you've NEVER had chocolate and pancakes before!?" Tamsin sound quite taken back by this possibility but Tubbo just nodded.
"OH MY GOD!!! You NEED to try some." Tamsin grabs one of the Chocolate pancakes and throws it onto his plate. "Try it try it try it!!!" Tamsin seems excited at this point so Tubbo picks up his fork and takes a big chomp out of the pancake.
"This is amazing!" Tubbo said with hidden excitement just behind his words.
"I KNOW RIGHT!" Tamsin screams back.
Tubbo gobbles down the pancake and then another pancake. After they had all finished Kristen walked over to them again.
"Ok so I have some chores for you kids." Kristen said as she clapped her hands together. They all looked up at the women and waited for what she was going to say next.
"Techno, I need you to help your father with hunting, and collecting supplies. Wilbur I need you to take Tamsin and Tubbo into town and get a list of supplies."
"What! Why can't I help father and Techno!?" Wilbur protested.
"Because your the only one that can get Tam to listen." The women replied in a lower voice "Plus I can't send them off on their own." She continued while Wilbur rolled his eyes.
"Fine." Wilbur scoffed
"Ok now go get ready!" The dark haired women smiled.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Tamsin took Tubbo back to her room and she directed him to sit on the bed while she rummaged through a dresser to give him a change of clothes. After a little bit Tamsin turned around and handed Tubbo a shirt and shorts. The shirt was blue and had a little rainbow on the front of it. The shorts were black and had some white stars on them.
"Go to the bathroom that's down the hall to change. I got to change now!" Tamsin pushed him out of the room.
After a few minutes Tubbo walked out and he was quite happy with what he was wearing. The only real problem is that the jeans. They didn't have pockets. I mean they were there but you can't even put your hands in them. Tubbo walked down the hallway again and knocked on Tamsin's door. She opened the door and reviled she was wearing a red tank top that was tucked into her cache brown pants, and it wasn't long before she began to question him on why he took so long.
"Common have you never got changed before?" Tubbo didn't know how to reply.
"I'm just joking mate, now lets go! I want to show you around the market." Tamsin grabbed Tubbo's hand and pulled him into the living room where Tamsin chatted his ears off while waiting for her brother.
Wilbur eventually came out and he was wearing a dusty yellow T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans, along with a black baseball cap. Tamsin got up the second she saw her brother and tried to drag him to the door, but Wilbur stood there unaffected by the small blonde.
"We can't go yet Tam, mum still has to finish writing up the list of stuff we need to get." Wilbur said as he looked down at the younger one.
"Of course we do! I want to go now!" the blonde replied drawing out the 'now'. They waited a little longer Tamsin talking away and occasionally letting one of the brunettes speak.
"Ok kids here's the list I'm giving you enough money to pay for what's on this list and nothing more. Got it?" Asked Kristen
"Got it." Wilbur answered
"Got it!" Tamsin yelled, Tubbo didn't say anything he didn't really like talking much.
"Ok! now go." the women pointed towards the door, and the three started their quest. The walk to the market was a good half hour, that gave Tamsin and Tubbo a lot of time to fool around.
"Tubbo take this stick!" the blonde screamed before throwing a long thin stick at the brunette. The stick landed in front of Tubbo while he covered his face and turned his back a bit. When the brunette realized the stick didn't hit him he looked down and picked it up. It was a little sticky, probably from some sap that dripped on it. The blonde on the other hand was running full speed and held up the stick to attack. Tubbo ducked when Tamsin swung at him.
"Hey! your supposed to use your stick to block my attack!" She argued
"What?" Tubbo was confused. Everything in Tubbo's body told him to get out of the way as fast as he could.
"Ya mate, have you never played swords before?" Tamsin exclaimed.
"No?" To Tamsin this was another horrible discovery while to Tubbo this was just a new weird thing he just found out excited.
"Gods! you should be so glad I found you! Now I can teach you how to use a sword!"
"You don't even know how to weald a sword Tam." Wilbur butted in.
"HEY! yes I do!" Tamsin replied angerly.
"Do not!" Wilbur looked back at the two
"Do too!" Tamsin answered furry building up. While to too siblings bickered Tubbo found an enjoyment in flinging around the 'sword' he held. He swung it through the air which created an odd sounds which made Tubbo giggle a bit.
"Ok we need to get going now or else mum will be worried." Wilbur said ultimately stopping the conversation with his sister. "Now common lets get going" Wilbur turned back around and gestured for the two to follow, and they reluctantly did.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
The three eventually arrived at their destination and Tubbo was amazed. His father never brought him to the market near their house he always said 'it was to dangerous' so he never really got to go out.
"Ok here's what we need." The oldest spoke. "We need a jar of honey, a fishing rod, flint and steal, eggs, sugar, milk, 2 buckets, 2 sacks of wool, some dye of Tubbo's choosing, a clock, and some pillows also of Tubbo's choosing."
"Why of my choosing?" Tubbo asked.
"Sounds like mums gonna make you a blanket and pillows are for your bed." Wilbur replied and Tubbo went a bit red.
"Anyway." Wilbur continued "Keep your eyes pealed for that stuff. Now lets go."
It was nosey. Everyone was chatting with each other, and Tubbo was able to hear a lot of it. Something about 'how outrageous this price is', 'what a lovely sweater! How much?' and something along the lines of 'do you make the honey yourself?' Tubbo let out a little gasp before saying,
"Wait Tamsin! I think there's some honey over there!" As he pointed to a series of stalls, selling various things.
"What how do you know? Can you see it?" Tamsin question the boy.
"I-I heard it."
"OH MY GODS! IT'S BECAUSE OF YOUR GOAT EARS!" This excited Tamsin, she grabbed Wilbur and explained to him the discovery.
"Is that so?" Wilbur looked up at Tubbo. "Lead the way goat boy." He continued and Tubbo smiled as he turned around a ran to the stalls.
They walked past a few of them and there was no luck but eventually they saw a sign that had the word 'HONEY' bolded in a bright yellow goldish. Tubbo ran up to the stan excitedly practically jumping.
"Good job Tubbo." Wilbur looked down at the boy and smiled. That gave Tubbo a new emotion that he'd only learn years later that it was pride.
"Ok kid" Wilbur said putting honey in his satchel "Lets see what those ears of yours can do."
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Only after a short hour of finding and bargaining. They got all the stuff on the list.
"That's got to be a new record!" Tamsin squealed while Tubbo laughed.
"Do you really think so?" Tubbo asked
"Definitely!" Tamsin reassured him. They both broke out into laughter. After that, they didn't spend much time apart. They'd stay up late and tell each other scary stories about the undead climbing from out of the ground and haunting the living but burn in daylight. They wake early in the morning to explore the woods before they are pulled back inside to eat breakfast. They love to follow Wilbur around, and although Wilbur would never admit this out loud he liked the buggers. It kept him company.
Wilbur will sing them songs about a red hair women who lived by the sea. A few times the two tried to convince Wilbur to help them explore and find the women but he always said no and that 'she probably doesn't want to be bothered by a bunch of kids'. Tamsin was appalled by the thought that someone wouldn't want to meet her, Tubbo agreed with Wilbur and they will only ever hear of this women through the strum of Wilbur's guitar.
Currently Tamsin and Tubbo aren't aloud outside right now because it was, in the words of Kristen "raining cat and dogs" so instead Tamsin and Tubbo stayed in the living room playing with stuffed animals and wooden swords.
"One second I'm gonna go get my bee!" Tubbo exclaimed before getting up and running to the hallway that would eventually lead him to their room.
Their room had changed a lot sense Tubbo first got there. Tubbo used to sleep on the ground, there were posters of fighters and warriors above Tamsin's bed and there's a book shelf that ironically didn't have any books and instead consisted of wooden swords, cars, and a few other cool things. She also had a chest filled with more stuff, like a toy piano, books, paper, pencils, and half a dozen other things. Not to mention the dresser she had.
The room now was split in half and although Tamsin's side looked the same Tubbo's side was completely different. He had a proper bed now that had green covers made by Kristen, he had a bedside table where a lamp sat. The drawers of of the table were filled with note books, pencils, crayons, and coloring books. Tubbo now had a few posters of his own, they were mainly animals but Tamsin insisted he got some of the cool fighter poster she had. He also had a few more stuffed animals now but it was clear Tubbo liked the bee one the most, and like Tamsin he had his own dresser and no longer had to wear Tamsin's clothes.
When Tamsin finally snapped back into reality she was curious on why it had not been Tubbo who brought her back. She got to her feet and decided to look for her friend. She headed down the hallway and was about to go up the stairs before she saw what she was searching for. Tubbo was peaking to her parents room. That just so happened to be one of Tamsin's favorite thing to do. She hurried over to join in.
"I mean it's got to be him right?" Phil said
"Oh it definitely is." Kristen replied
"But why would he leave him in the yard of a strangers house, like I knew he was stupid but really? This is your child?"
"Phil don't say that, he must of had some idea of what he was doing. He's not heartless you know."
"He's a wanted criminal!"
"But he clearly cared about Tubbo. Tubbo had a stuffed bee with him remember? That is clearly his favorite, he practically never lets go of the thing. He had food with him as well." Phil cut her off
"Beef jerky doesn't count as food, and it doesn't matter what he had with him, the facts are that he was left in a carboard box in the yard of a complete strangers house, at night where there are monsters that explode if you get to close to them! To me it sounds like he didn't care if Tubbo didn't make it through the night."
Tamsin looked down at Tubbo who was crying with his hands over his mouth so he didn't make a sound. Tamsin took Tubbo and led him to their room. Tubbo went under his bed right after he grabbed his bee plush. Tamsin sat beside the bed leaned against the night stand and waited for Tubbo to eventually crawl out. While she waited she sat and tried to figure out what her parents could've been talking that made Tubbo cry so quickly. Tamsin has spent almost every minute of every day with Tubbo for the past week and he hadn't cried. Not even when he got hurt, he always delt with everything the same he would take a deep breath then deal with the situation. The only other time she's seen him cry is when she found him in that box.
"Oh." She whispered. This has something to do with why he was in the box. She thought not wanting to say it out loud in fear Tubbo might hear and cry more.
Eventually Tubbo came out and sat beside her.
"Wait here I'll be back in just a moment!" Tamsin stood up and ran out the bedroom door. She was back less then 3 minutes later with a glass of water and something else in her closed hand.
"Here, Mum usually gives me water after I finish crying." Tubbo took the glass and sipped on the liquid.
"She says it helps, I'm not sure how but I always find it does." They sit in a comfortable silence before Tamsin speaks up again.
"I have a surprise for you once it stops raining. Whatever one comes last I guess, ok?" Tamsin looks at Tubbo who nods and continues to sip on his water.
After another long silence Tubbo finally stands up and Looks at Tamsin who follows his lead.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
"Ok you can open your eyes now" Tubbo slowly pealed his eyes open and it was reviled to him that Tamsin had led him to an ice cream truck.
"Surprise!" Tamsin said with her arms open wide with an even wider smile plastered onto her face. "I even have enough money that both of us can get two scopes!" Tubbo was completely speechless. All he did was rap his arms around the other and Tamsin quickly did the same. After a second Tamsin pushed him off and said,
"Ok we got to order ice cream now because if we wait any longer its gonna be very dark before were even close to home." Tubbo laughs and nods in agreement.
"A scoop of Vanilla and strawberries please! on a cone too!" She smiles and turns to Tubbo who orders Two scoops of chocolate with hot chocolate sauce in a bowl.
The man hands them their ice cream and the turn around to find a place to sit. Tamsin quickly finds a bench and insisted that they sit there. Tamsin sits with her feet dangling while Tubbo has his crossed.
"Hey, um, I don't know if this is rude but, where did you get the money to even pay for this?"
"Oh! I took it from my brothers stash of cash he has hidden in one of his socks!" Tubbo stared at her it shock. He was clearly not prepared for that answer.
"Don't worry he won't get mad at me! I'm to adorable!" She snickered.
The two of them continued to talk about the adventures of the past week and the adventures they'd have in the future with the music of the Ice cream playing from just behind them. Their laughs followed them until the sun began to fall behind the horizon while the moon rose from it. They continued to exchange words, jokes, and playful insults until they arrived at the wood steps of their house, and with only a few steps in to the house they heard a boy yell.
"TAMSIN! WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY MONEY!" There was a silence between the two but Tamsin spit out a sentence.
"Guess he did get mad at me."

Chapter Text
"COME ON MATE HURRY UP!" Tamsin ran in between the market stalls Tubbo close behind. They made a mistake, They pissed off the wrong group of teens. Tamsin and Tubbo were 13 while the people chasing after them were 16 or 17. Although the Teens were older the blonde and brunette were faster. Turns out when you run in the woods the majority of the day you get pretty good at running.
"TAM! DIVIDE!" Tamsin nodded before taking a left while Tubbo took a right. She ran down more in between stalls going left and right to throw the two that followed her off. Tubbo took a different approach. He led them down an alleyway and while the teen that was chasing him stopped Tubbo kept running and threw a series of leaps at the wall he got on to the roof. Tubbo leaned over and looked at the teen who was staring in shock.
"Suck my dick!" Tubbo smiled and flipped them off. He continued to run across the roof and sat at the ledge and pulled out some stuff from his bag and mixed it together waiting for Tamsin’s signal.
Tamsin was running up a flight of stairs that would eventually lead to the library. The library sat on a huge platform with railings around the edges. Tamsin ran to one of the edges and pulled out a mirror lining it up with the sun to make a beam. She waited a few seconds till she heard the angry teens slowly catching up to her. She stuffed the mirror back in her pocket and ran off again.
She began to run into a corner. You could jump over the rails the only thing was if you did you wouldn’t be getting up off the ground you landed on. That fact didn’t stop her from running. She climbed onto the railing and turned to look at the two teens still running.
“¡Adiós amigos!” Tamsin saluted the two before diving off the side.
For a few seconds Tamsin could feel the air whoosh past her. Most people would feel tense knowing they were hurling towards the cement, Tamsin wasn’t though. She knew he’d catch her in time.
“TAM!” Tubbo came gliding in one arm wrapped around a pink goo thing and the other extended.
He caught her only a few feet from the ground. They rolled onto the pavement and were only bleeding a little.
“WE WON!” Tamsin yelled, throwing her hands in the air. They both let out a laugh.
“You have to get better at pickpocketing.” Tamsin stood up.
“HEY! I just saved your ass!” Tubbo shot back, beginning to untie the goo rope.
“Ya but you wouldn’t have had to if you were just better at stealing!” She crossed her arms
“Ok then! I’m just not going to share any of the profit now!” Tubbo Began to walk off.
“HEY! You can’t do that!” Tamsin chased after him.
“And why can’t I? I did all the work!” Tubbo looked at the blonde and smirked.
“Ya but it was MY idea!” Tamsin punched the other in the arm.
“So if I’m hearing you correctly, this entire situation is because of an idea you had?” Tubbo stopped and turned to the blonde.
“YA!” Tamsin shouted.
“Thank you for admitting this was all your fault!” Tubbo smiled, patted Tamsin on the shoulder and began to walk again.
“WAIT A DAMN MINUTE THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!” And with that Tamsin was off running after the shorter one.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“Ok now what you kids got today?” A bald man with a scruffy beard and a dirty white button up shirt and brown apron came from around a corner and approached the two kids.
“Hey Alex!” Tubbo said, throwing his bag onto the stand. Alex opened the bag and pulled out what was inside. The man placed each thing in a line. First a cheap necklace, next a beaded bracelet with a red jewel at the center, there was a wallet that had already been pouched of its money by Tamsin, and finally a watch.
“So how much!” Tamsin asked with a raised brow.
“A sack of coins.” Alex said firmly.
“WHAT!?” The two screamed.
“ARE YOU FUCKING KIDING ME!?” Tamsin continued, “Me and you both know that you would be able to sell this to some dumbass for a lot more. Three sacks!”
Alex laughed, “One and a half.”
“Two and a half.” Tubbo shot back.
“Two. final offer.” Alex crossed his arms. The blonde and brunette looked at each other before turning back towards Alex.
“Deal.” Tamsin replied. Alex gave them their coins and sent them on their way. Tamsin and Tubbo would often pickpocket or steal or get stuff for Alex in exchange for coins. It was fun to work for Alex. They had an unspoken agreement. Whenever Tamsin and Tubbo could, they would bring some stuff to try and sell to him and sometimes they bump into each other and Alex would give them a task. They were always upfront about what the task was but when it came to selling stuff they always tried to psych each other out.
The two of them happily walked home discussing what they would buy with their money, and they soon approached the wooden cabin they called home, stuffing the bag of money in their pockets.
“Hello dears! Have a fun time at the market?” Kristen was in the front garden. She seemed to be planting a new set of flowers. It was a black rose, the petals folded down. They seemed dead and like they would fall apart if the wind blew too hard.
“It was good and we made a bit of money.” Tamsin replied, walking up the steps.
“What's the new flower you got there?” Tubbo questioned as he leaned against the railing.
“Oh! Well this is a brand new flower, It's called a wither rose.” She held up the rose so they could see it a bit better.
“Is it supposed to look that, sickly?” Tamsin butted in.
“Yes, it is.” Kristen said oddly enough.
“Weird.” Tamsin headed inside Tubbo following. They walked inside and headed to their room. Once entering Tamsin headed to her bed and pulled out a container. Tubbo grabbed his bag of coins whilst Tamsin took off the cover of the container. It was revealed to be filled with even more gold coins, they both poured the majority of their coins into the container keeping a few for themselves.
“We're getting really close!” Tamsin said looking up at the other who was clearly entranced by the shimmering gold. The two of them had approached Phil and Kristen with a board that had exclusive detail on why they should be allowed to get a freshly polished set of Iron armor for them each. That well put together presentation quickly turned into a pleading beg when they refused.
“It's going to be awesome!” Tubbo exclaimed. “How much more do we need?”
“About 50 coins!” Tamsin’s voice was filled with excitement. “I reckon we could get the rest tomorrow if we work hard enough!”
“You really think!”
“Of course! Soon we'll be able to go on big adventures and fight monsters!” Tubbo was enchanted by Tamsin’s words. “And we'll be by each other's sides the entire time!” Tubbo smiled and so did Tamsin.
“Siblings till the end!” Tubbo held out his hand.
“Siblings till the end!” Tamsin replied, taking Tubbo's hand in her own.
“TUBBO, TAMSIN! I need you to help Phil pile wood!” Kristen yelled from down the hall.
“OK MUM!” Tamsin screamed in reply. “Come on, let's go before mum gets mad.”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“WAKE UP!” Tamsin was met with a harsh slap.
“AH! What the hell!?” To Tamsin's shock Tubbo had been the one to slap her. “TUBBO!? Why’d you do that!?”
“Cuz I wanna get ready to go to the market!” Tamsin threw herself out of bed and grabbed a white shirt, red vest, and some black dress pants then threw it on. Tubbo was already dressed in a large green button up T-shirt and blue jeans. They ran out a door right after grabbing their satchels.
“Bye mum! Me and Tubbo are going to the market, we'll be back later!” Tamsin yelled already halfway out the front door.
“Ok dear, have fun, don’t get into trouble!” She yelled back
“We won't!” Tubbo yelled instead of Tamsin because she was already too far away for her to hear.
“Come on Tubbo! Hurry up, you're the one that wants to go!”
“Coming!”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“Heyo Alex! Got any quests for us?” Tamsin leaned on the side of the stall and let a smile dance onto her face.
“Ah, you two. I have a few jobs you could do, of course how much money you want will alter which one I give you.” Alex answered while displaying a freshly polished piece of a fake silver necklace.
“We want fifty coins.”
“Really? That's a lot.”
“Well you got a task for us or not?” Tubbo butted in.
“I do but it’ll only get you 30 coins.” he picked up a scroll and held it up for the both of them to see.
“Perfect. Give it.” Tubbo demanded and extended his arm. Alex happily gave him the scroll and returned to polishing some cheap jewelry.
“Tubbo what the hell man!” Tamsin screamed when they were out of earshot.
“Hey, listen to my plan before you get pressed. While we’re completing our task we can pickpocket a few people and sell him the stuff we get.”
“Huh? We could have just gotten a 50 coin quest! No extra work needed!”
“Ya but if we kept asking for a more expensive task he’d catch on that we're desperate and give us an impossible task!” Tamsin was quiet for a minute before admitting Tubbos plan was a good idea.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“Ok Tubbo you sneak around back and wait till I give you the signal.” Tamsin whispered. Currently they were next to a stand that sold stone pickaxes and a few other tools. Whenever they needed to get
stone or coal (like they did now) they went to this stand to borrow two pickaxes. Currently Tubbo was at the back of the stand waiting to get the go from Tamsin to steal the pickaxes, and Tamsin was waiting for the perfect time to both pickpocket the women who were currently trying to pay for a pickaxe.
It started off as it always did. Tamsin running down the walkway, and on que she bumped into the woman making her stumble and drop a few things.
“Oh my miss! I'm so so sorry! Let me help you with that.” Tamsin bent down to pick up the items distracting both the woman and the salesman creating a perfect opening for Tubbo to quietly barrow some pickaxes.
“Oh thank you dear!” The woman held out her hand so Tamsin could hand her what had fallen. The woman was unaware of the pouch of coins that had been taken from her jacket pocket. She was also unaware of the bracelet that was currently being taken off of her wrist.
“Have a good day ma’am” and Tamsin took off running again only to take a turn in between stalls and back the way she just came.
“TAM!” The brunette ran up to the blonde and showed off the two stone pickaxes he’d just stolen while Tamsin showed off the sack of coins and bracelet she’d snatched. “Do you know what the bracelet is
made from?”
“I think it's copper.” Tamsin held the bracelet close to her face to try and get a better look. It was a beautifully beaded bracelet made from some rusty green ore that was too dull to be emerald, but Tamsin was sure with some polishing Alex could make it look like emerald.
“How much do you think Alex would pay for it?” Tubbo questioned
“I don’t know, probably 5 coins.” Tamsin placed the bracelet back into her pocket.
“How many coins are in the pouch?”
“10. That makes 15 coins but I’m sure if we clean up the rope on the bracelet and make the quest sound super difficult and deadly we can get him to pay 10.”
“Good plan.” Tubbo says. Only with a few more minutes of walking till the two are met with a shallow somewhat dark cave. They both rummage around for a dry branch and it takes longer than what they wanted to. Tamsin grabs the flint and steel that sat in her satchel and lit Tubbo's stick on fire then her own.
“Hey How much stone do we need?” Tamsin asked before moving into the cave.
“Uhhhh Three stacks!” Tubbo replied looking up from the parchment.
“Awesome, we can split it!” and with that they headed into the cave.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
The mining was uneventful. They just talked about the wonderful adventures they'd have once they bought the armor. Stories of fighting zombies and venturing to the haunted world of the nether so they could kill the fiery blaze and the tall pitch black enderman then could eventually kill the mighty Ender Dragon and become fearsome warriors!
They climbed out of the cave and stuffed everything into their satchels.
“Come on Tubbo!!!!” Tamsin whined. Tubbo was short; he was only 4 feet while Tamsin was 4,5 and a lot of that height was in her legs. So she was much faster than Tubbo.
“Maybe if you slow down a little I wouldn’t be so far behind!” Tubbo shot back.
“Nah!” Tamsin replied, she did end up slowing down a bit, not a lot just enough for Tubbo to catch up without him needing to run.
“Do you think Kristian and Phil will get mad at us for buying the armor?” Tubbo asked, Tamsin thought about it. They had directly told the two they weren’t allowed to have armor and go out fighting, but they’d understand wouldn’t they. I mean they may get a bit mad but that's it.
Tamsin scoffed, “Of course they won’t!” Tamsin smiled at her friend to reassure him of her answer.
“If you say so!” Tubbo let out a laugh and continued forward on the path the two had found themselves on.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“Alex! Your favorite duo has arrived!” Currently Alex was trying to hustle a woman into buying a knock off silver necklace.
“Hello! Just give me a moment, I'm talking to this lovely lady here.” The woman's cheeks went red, clearly flattered by the comment. That made Tamsin groan.
“Look lady, that necklace is a rusty old piece of shit that me and my friend here found on the side of the road last week! He just cleaned it a little and made it look decent. Move along, don't waste your money.”
“You should really try and find somewhere else to spend your gold, probably somewhere that's actually selling the thing you want and not a plastic version of it.” Tubbo suggested and the woman ended up taking the two children's advice and left with that.
“WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO!? I WAS ABOUT TO SELL THIS ‘PIECE OF SHIT’ FOR TWENTY COINS!” Alex screamed at the two but they stayed calm waiting for him to stop.
“Relax grandpa! We took everything from her pockets. You can have your twenty coins.” Tubbo threw a pouch at the man that contained 25 coins. Alex scoffed and pocketed the pouch.
“Don't call me grandpa. You guys got the stone?” Alex crossed his arms and aimed his annoyed face at the blonde and brunette.
“Of course we do! Why else would we be here?” Tamsin threw her half onto the desk while Tubbo rummaged through his bag.
“To give me a hard time.” Tubbo set his half on the desk and Alex picked it all up in a whiff.
“Well looks like you got it all, here's your thirty coins” Alex dropped a bag on the desk and the two took it reluctantly.
“Thanks grandpa!” The two yelled and sped away in the opposite direction.
“I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THA-” They got far away enough to not hear the end of that sentence.
“WOW!” Tamsin threw her hands in the air. “WE GOT FIFTY COINS!” The two ran and spun in celebration of their achievement.
“WOOP WOOP! WOOP WOOP!” They both screamed matching beats.
“WERE THE KINGS OF THE WORLD-” Tamsin bumped into someone and spun around to apologize but was met with an unkind familiar face.
“YOU TWO!” It was the teens from the day before.
“Oh hey there!” Tamsin backed away a bit. “Sorry about what happened yesterday but I’m sure that if we both just back away and forget you guys ever saw us we can bump into each other twenty years time and laugh about this whole situation!” With every step that Tamsin and Tubbo backed away the Teens moved closer.
“Nah I don’t think I wanna do that.” Tamsin turned and tried to run the opposite way but two other teens, one with red frizzy hair that's tied back in a bun and the other had a large scar across her left eye stepped in front of Tamsin before she could get another step away.
“Where do you think you're going?” The brunette teen grabbed Tamsin by the collar and lifted her off the ground. “We want our stuff back. NOW!” He threw her to the ground and she scraped the palms of her hands.
“TAM!” Tubbo looked at Tamsin. She was fine but it still pissed Tubbo off. “PISS OFF ALL OF YOU!” The teen walked up to the shorter one and grabbed his ear and pushed him to the ground.
“If you can’t get us our stuff back, we'll take it.” The red head and scar girl grabbed both of their satchels.
“HEY WHAT THE FUCK!” Tamsin yelled and she pulled herself to her feet. She tried to run at the two but the other teen held her back.
“They don’t have our stuff but they do have a whole wad of coins.” The red head held up multiple pouches stuffed with coins.
“Take em.” They stuffed the coins in their pockets and walked away. The teen finally releases the duo from his grasp. “Next time you think to try and pickpocket someone don’t be so fucking stupid to pickpocket us. You know what stick to putting on makeup and wearing dresses. Like the stupid girl you are.”
Tamsin stood there, silently looking at the ground. Her fists were clenched so hard it made her knuckles go white. Tubbo brought himself back to his feet and began to try and glimpse at his friend.
“Tamsin are you-” Tubbo was caught off by a soft weep that left the blonde's mouth.
“Hey, hey. It’s ok! Is it because of the coins? We'll be able to get them back! Don’t worry.” Tubbo placed a comforting hand on Tamsin's shoulder.
“It's not that.” Tears began to build up. “I mean I do care, it's just that,” She stopped talking.
“Hey It’s ok I won’t judge.”
“I DON’T KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH ME!?” Tubbo was startled by the sudden screaming. “I HATE getting called a girl and, and being called anything girly!” Tamsin bent down to the ground, it seemed like her legs could no longer carry her weight. They had become jelly. “And when mum took me shopping for bras and shit I wanted to slam my head against a fucking wall. Then when that stupid fucker right
there called me a ‘stupid girl’ it just broke me.”
“Shh that’s ok, it’s ok to feel like that.” Tubbo hugged his crying friend just as she had done for him many times before.
“It is?” Tamsin asked.
“Of course it is!” Tubbo released the blonde from his hug and pulled her off the ground. “Now let's go home, we need to clean up these cuts.”
“Let’s go.” Tamsin began to follow her friend home.

Chapter Text
It was cold when Tamsin woke up. Tubbo wasn’t in the room. Tamsin climbed out of bed, vision still blurry. She chugged the cup of water that Tubbo had given her the night before.
She stumbled into the kitchen and threw two pieces of bread in the toaster. She sat at the table and waited for the toaster to pop. It was the longest 4 minutes Tamsin endured. Once the sound of the pop rang through her ears she took the toast and smothered it in peanut butter.
“TAM!” Tubbo ran into the kitchen covered in dirt and mud.
“Jesus Tubbo! You scared the shit out of me!” Tamsin turned to him for a split second before turning back and taking a large bite out of her toast. “Wait where have you been? And why are you covered in dirt?”
“OH! That, yes! I was chopping some trees for Kristian, but that's not important right now!” Tamsin turned to look at her friend, a little confused on what he was going to say. “It’s about yesterday,” Tamsin’s heart skipped a beat.
“Oh ya that, we don’t need to talk about that. It was just a little moment. We can just forget it ever happened.” Tamsin broke eye contact with Tubbo and looked at her food instead. Tubbo raised a brow.
“Oh ya definitely! Having a mental breakdown because you hate being called a girl that's perfectly normal.” Tubbo waved his arms around making big jesters and being super dramatic. Tamsin stayed silent. She didn’t even chuckle at Tubbo’s stupidity. “Look mate, it’s ok that you feel that way. I know people that feel exactly like you!”
“YOU DO!?” Tubbo couldn’t tell if Tamsin was confused or shocked, maybe a bit of both.
“Well I’ve never met her but ya! Um… well you know my dad right.” Tubbo spoke a little softer on the second half. “Of course you know my dad but anyway, he had a twin! They were identical and
she was born a male but when she was 17 or so she came out as something called Trans and she ended up becoming a girl!”
“Ya but I’m already a girl.” Tamsin seemed a little disappointed in the story.
“I know I know, but the trans thing goes both ways! That means girls can become guys too!” That sparked Tamsin's interest. She became noticeably excited, but that quickly drained.
“But how do I know I’m, well that.”
“I know that's what I was thinking! So I thought we could go to the library.”
“That's perfect! Come on, let's go now!” Tamsin threw the rest of her toast in her mouth and ran to the front door.
“You still need to change mate.”
“Right, forgot about that.”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
The brunette and blonde were on their way to the library now. The two of them had been there about three times not including the many times they went there to jump over the railing to make a daring escape from the horrid angsty teens.
They swung open the big oak doors and entered the library. There were rows upon rows of 100 feet tall shelves filled with books. The books were an array of colors from a dusty red cover that was practically falling apart to a vibrant purple trimmed with gold freshly polished. The books weren’t the only thing trimmed with gold though. There was a long royal red carpet starting from the entrance leading to a polished wooden dark spruce desk.
The two approached the desk and it began to reveal the face of the woman sitting behind it. She had silver hair tied into a loose sloppy braid that actually fit her pale face well. She had a black vest with shiny silver buttons. Under the black vest was a fresh white long sleeve button up shirt.
“Hello miss! I was wondering if you had a book on trans, or transitioning.” Tubbo's' voice was clear.
The woman looked up from the book she was reading and said, “In the upper west wing, section 3c.” The woman lowered her head again but when she noticed the two hadn’t left she lifted it up again. “You’ve never been here before have you?”
“We’ll not often enough to know where that place is.” Tubbo let out a chuckle and the woman placed the book down on the desk. The book was familiar to Tamsin but she couldn’t understand why.
“Follow me.” The two did as she said. She moved swiftly and quietly. They ventured right and soon came to wooden stairs still draped in the red carpet. The wood was smooth and glossy under Tamsin's hand. They took another right and we’re brought into a corner, the walls still covered in selves.
“You’ll find what you're looking for mainly on this shelf, but you may find some books scattered around in the other ones.”
“Thanks ma’am. “ Tubbo replied. The woman didn’t leave, but she did cross her arms and raise a brow.
“Aren’t you a little young to be looking for this stuff?” She wasn’t being rude about it, she seemed somewhat curious on why a scruffy blonde and a hybrid goat boy were looking for that type of book instead of a book on dragons.
“Aren’t you a little old to be reading a book about a princess being saved by a knight in shining armor?” Tamsin finally remembered where she’d recognized the book. She had stolen it a few weeks back. Tamsin skimmed the first few chapters and got the jiff of it. (She ended up selling it to some stall that was run by a short man that could’ve been mistaken for a large rat.)
“To shay.” The woman turned her back and headed away leaving the two on their mission.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“This is taking forever!!!” Tamsin whined. They had been there for an hour. They found bits of what they were looking for but not all of it.
“Look on the bright side! We’ve learnt a ton of new stuff!” Tubbo was trying to be optimistic. It was working slightly. Tamsin had learned new things. There was apparently an entire community of people like this, it was called LGBTQ community. Tamsin read through what each of them met and she even recognized a few. It was the L and the G, her parents had told her about them. The L meant two women that were dating and the G meant two men that were dating. Tamsin thought it was a bit weird that it could happen but her parents told her to be supportive of people in the community. Tamsin never knew why they said that, I mean they're just people.
“TAM! TAM! TAM! LOOK AT THIS!” Tubbo came sliding down the ladder he was standing on and sat next to Tamsin.
“What is it?” Tamsin sat up and her hair was sprigged out in every direction.
“I found a quiz in this magazine. It’s a are you gay quiz!” Tubbo handed her the magazine and she began to fill out the questions. Most of them Tamsin understood, like the ones that asked “are you ok with your gender?” and “have you ever thought about dating the same gender.” some of them really confused the two of them such as the ones that asked “are you attracted to non-binary people?” Like what's a non-binary? The two silently asked. Other ones she just didn’t answer. They tallied up all the answers and looked for her results.
“Asexual. What’s Asexual!?” Tamsin looked at her friend as he began to read the definition that sat under the title and flag.
“a person who has no sexual feelings or desires, or who is not sexually attracted to anyone.” Tubbo read aloud.
“What the hell does sEx have to do with my gender!?” Tamsin crumpled the magazine in her hand a little bit.
“Hey it’s ok!.” Tubbo put a hand on the blonde's shoulder. They stayed there for a minute before Tamsin started to rummage through the magazine again. She stopped on a page labeled ‘Transgender’. Under the definition section it read ‘denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not match with their birth gender’
“THAT'S ME! THAT IS ME!” Tamsin shouted. Her heart was racing with excitement. “I think I'm trans Tubz.” A grin peeling across her face
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
In the end Tubbo checked out some books about the community because and I quote. “I never met my aunt and this is one of the only things I ever knew about her and I want to learn as much about it as I can!”
The walk home was a little stressful. Tamsin and Tubbo were still rapping their heads around the idea. When they approached the front door the two took a deep breath and it resolved the jitters that once sat there.
“Hey mates! Where have you been?” Phil was sitting on the sofa carving something into his axe.
“We're in the woods!” Tamsin said smoothly.
“Find anything cool?” Phill looked up at the two.
“Nope, not today! Maybe tomorrow though.”
“Well lunch will be done in a half hour, so make sure not to go wandering off again.”
“Got it!” Tamsin replied and pushed Tubbo away into their room. Tubbo pulled out a book from his satchel and began to read. Tamsin on the other hand was exhausted and layed on her stomach shoving her face in her pillow. They sat in a comfortable silence before Tubbo let out a gasp.
“What is it Tubbz?” Tamsin lifted her head so she's able to look at the brunette.
“Come over here.” He replied, not daring to take his eyes off the book.
“Uhhhhhh! If it’s something stupid I’ll be pissed.” Tamsin quite literally rolled out of bed and scooted over to her friend.
“Read this bit.” Tubbo handed her the book, and it only took a few minutes of reading for Tamsin to understand why he’d gasped. The book stated that “Sadly people that are a part of the LGBTQ+ community do not have it easy. People that are in the community are often bullied and harassed by strangers and loved ones because of the way they are. Many people have been dissound because they have come out and their family was not supportive.” Most of that didn’t bother Tamsin in the slightest, she's been picked on and teased her whole life, but it was the fact that her Family could be the ones doing it. Not in the funny jokey way either in the cruel way that's meant to hurt you.
“I feel bad for them.” Tubbo paused for a moment letting the anger build. “I mean that’s fucked right? It’s so stupid!” Tubbo pouted.
“Ya it’s messed up.” Tamsin replied softly, still letting what she just read sink in.
“Are you ok?” Tubbo said, trying to match Tamsin's tone.
Before anything else could be said a new voice butted in. It was Techno screaming it was time for lunch.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Tamsin stayed quiet during lunch, she was letting herself be consumed by thoughts. Some were happy, I love steak sandwiches! The cheese melted perfectly! God I was so hungry! But most were sad. What if I come out and mom and dad aren’t supportive? What if they disown me? They told Me to be supportive of other people but what if they're not supportive of trans people? Or what if they’re opinion changed and they're not supportive of anyone!? No. They are kind and nice and sweet. What if that's what they want me to believe.
“So Tam, what did you and Tubbo do in the woods?” Phil spoke up.
“Huh.” Tamsin was pulled out of her trance but not quick enough to hear what he had said.
“I asked what you and Tubbo did while you were out.” Phil repeated.
“Oh, um we built a little fort down by the river.”
“OoooOoOoo” Kristian said “Sounds like you two had fun!”
“We did.” Tubbo replied.
The rest of the day was a bit of a blur. Tubbo read more, Tamsin buried her head in her pillow again, they went out into the woods to actually build a fort but left when night came. They had lamb and mashed potatoes for supper. Once they were all done eating Kristen's voice told them all to clean the dishes. They filled the sink with soapy water and the older two boys began to wash, Tubbo dried, and Tamsin put the dishes away. Though Tamsin was sliding across the room as fast as her feet could take her, her mind still wandered. It wasn’t until she began to put the utensils away that she snapped out of it.
Scissors. Tamsin thought. No no no no no. It’s a stupid idea. She continued to put the utensils away but every time she came back to the drawer she’d see them shimmering in the kitchen light.
“Tam come on! We got stuff you need to put away.” Wilbur announced.
“Ya ya whatever. Just give me a minute.” Tamsin placed the variation of knives and forks into their proper area and shut the drawer locking the scissors inside.
They finished cleaning and putting away all the dishes and flopped down on the couch, they were given just enough time to get comfortable before Kristen and Phil entered the room and pulled them all outside. They settled on the ground and looked up to the stars. Kristen told stories of the stars. Stories of the demons, monsters, and gods that were trapped in the sky which inspired
Techno to tell a story of his own. The story was of a man named Theseus. He slayed a monitor that was destroying his village. Tamsin wished to be like that man.
Tamsin stayed up late that night. Thinking. Thinking about Theseus, the book, the library trip, the scissors in the drawer. She finally got out of bed at a quarter to three. She walked slowly down the hall so as to not make the floorboards creak. She peered into the kitchen and tippy toed to the drawer and slid it open to see the scissors. They no longer shimmered at the fault; there was no kitchen light for it to shine in. She held the scissors in her hands and carried them into the bathroom closest to her room. Slowly shutting the door to barely make a sound, but not quite enough to not wake a little brunette that had sharp hearing almost like a goat.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
“Tamsin.” Tubbo whispered screamed. “Tamsin! Open the door.” He continued to knock on the door. The knob began to turn and the door squeaked open. Everything about Tamsin looked the same, she still wore her dusty red T shirt with her green and blue plaid pants. She still had on a few tan band-aids that covered fresh nicks and cuts from running through the woods. And her hair was still a golden blonde. The only difference was instead of the hair comfortably sitting on her shoulders, it was short and fluffy.
“So I made an impulsive decision.”

Chapter Text
It was a long night. When Tubbo found his friend standing in the doorway of the bathroom with short hair and scissors in hand his first reaction was to congratulate her. Tamsin's first reaction was to apologize and start to cry. Tubbo did his best to comfort Tamsin and after a little bit she got better. Once Tamsin was able to breathe again she asked Tubbo to help clean up all the hair. It took awhile to clean, not wanting to make a sound to wake up the parents. After they completed that there was a new challenge trying to get Tamsin to open up.
“Ok Tam you wanna tell me what just happened?” Tubbo closed the bedroom door and turned to see Tamsin already sitting on the bed. She didn’t speak, so that means Tubbo had to press it a little. “Common mate, I'll be supportive no matter what.” Tubbo smiled warmly trying to seem welcoming and trustworthy.
“I don’t know to be honest, I just was sitting in bed then I got up, took a pair of scissors and chopped all my hair off!”
“That’s bull shit.” Tubbo scoffed
“Are you accusing me of lying?” Tamsin gasped dramatically. Tubbo usually would have laughed but he stayed serious.
“Yes I am, I’m not going to believe that you just miraculously decide in the middle of the night you wanted to change up your hairstyle.” Tamsin tried to speak but Tubbo interrupted her. “Not to mention the fact that you started crying when I saw you!” Tubbo's voice grew louder after every word.
“Tubbo shut up! You're going to wake someone up.” Tamsin's clapped her hand over his mouth. After Tamsin didn’t move her hand Tubbo decided to remove it himself.
“Tam I’m sorry for getting loud, but I’m not mad at you. I won’t judge if you want to be a guy, I mean I can’t really judge if I was the one to tell you about it.” Tubbo smiled again and placed an arm around his blonde friend.
“Uhhhh,” Tamsin groaned. “I mean I want to be a guy but I don’t know what to do.” Tamsin placed her head in her hands.
For a while Tubbo didn’t know what to say. The gears in his head were grinding trying to remember what the books had said. The gears didn’t do much at first but once they got moving an idea spat out.
“Well I think I have an idea, your choice to try it or not.”
“We’ll my heads empty,” Tamsin lifted her head and turned it to face Tubbo “what is it?”
“Why don’t I try calling you a guy? Like say he instead of she?” Tamsin perked up a little bit.
“That could work.” Tamsin replied. “But not around the rest of the family! If I am trans I don’t want them to know just yet.”
“Yes of course! It’ll be our secret!” Tubbo stopped but there was something rattling in his brain and was debating to say it. “So you wanna change your name?” Tamsin looked at him a little stunned.
“Wot?” Tubbo laughed at that one.
“Some trans people change their name so it suits them better.”
“Oh, I mean I do hate it when people call me Tamsin, but I have no idea what the hell my name should be.” Tamsin flopped on his back.
“That's fair, you want me to just try and avoid using your name?”
“That would be lovely, yes.” Tamsin muttered a blink away from sleep.
“Goodnight bro.”
“Goodnight Tubz.”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Knock Knock Knock
“Come on you two! Get up, breakfast is ready!” Kristian announced from the other side of the door.
Tamsin shot up and scanned the room for a hoodie eventually finding one and throwing it on over his PJ’s, the bottom half of it was white but the top half was a dark teal. By the time Tamsin was heading out of the door Tubbo had just stumbled out of bed. He raced into the kitchen hoodie covering his new short hair.
“Hi mum, thanks for breakfast, bye mum.” in and out in 3 seconds. He passed Tubbo in the hall when heading back to their room. Tubbo sat at the table and began to dig into his food.
“Is Tamsin ok?” Kristian asked once she noticed the little goat boy that was sat in her kitchen.
“Ya she's fine, just working on a drawing.” Tubbo lied.
“Oh I wonder what it could be.”
“Couldn’t tell you.” Tubbo continued to munch down on his food.
Tubbo gobbled down his food quickly, he had a surprise for his friend and wanted to get to it as soon as possible, so they'd have more time. He rested his plate in the sink and headed back to his room to drag his new brother for an adventure.
“Bestie!” He slammed the door open, startling the blonde. “Come on! We're going somewhere!”
“What?” having the sudden shock fade away.
“Get up, we're going now. You don’t have a choice.”
Tubbo dragged his friend out of bed and they both got changed. Tamsin had left the room to wait for him to finish like Tubbo did for him, that gave Tubbo the perfect chance for him to grab his half of the gold they had saved and stuff it into his satchel.
“K I’m all ready mate, let's go!”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Once they had entered the forest and were out of sight of the house Tamsin took down his hood. They walked to the market and headed towards Alex’s stall. Tubbo noticed how Tamsin got visibly nervous.
“Hey Alex! I have a few questions for ya?”
“Oh hey, what ya ne- what's with the blonde ones hair?” Alex was cleaning something and ended up placing it down.
“Oh I uh cut it.” Tamsin replied and Alex didn’t push it further.
“So what ya need kid?” Alex brought his attention to Tubbo.
“I just need you to fill out these questions while I’m getting something quickly at another stand!” Tubbo held up a rolled up piece of parchment.
“Uhhh sure kid.” Alex took it then Tubbo ran off. Alex took a glimpse of the list and began to fill it out.
“So you're one of those trans folks aren’t ya?” Tamsin spun his head around so quickly that it could have snapped off.
“What makes you think that?” Tamsin became defensive.
“It’s ok if you are a kid, you never seemed like a Tamsin anyway.”
“Huh?” What was that supposed to mean? Tamsin thought.
“You just never seemed like a Tamsin, you always seemed more like a Tommy to me.” Tamsin laughed at the name, Tommy? What a silly name. The name made him happy though, like his heart was swelling and was about to explode but he didn’t mind the thought of that.
“Hey guys, I’m back.” Tubbo put a jar with a yellow liquid, kinda like a jam. “Did you finish the questions?”
“Yep! Here ya go.” Alex handed the parchment back and Tubbo glanced at it.
“Awesome! You're fabulous, I owe you one.” Tubbo dragged Tamsin away.
Tubbo pulled him past all the cheap knock off stalls and pulled him into a rich fancy area. They don’t shop here, it's hard to hustle people here but all the things here are nice and don’t have stains and all the colors are bright.
“What do you think of the name Tommy?” Tamsin asked as a way to break the silence.
“Not bad, why? You want that to be your name?” Tubbo turned his head to look at the blonde who was staring at the ground.
“I don’t know, maybe we could try it!”
“Of course… Tommy.” Tubbo grinned.
They approached the store and behind stood a tall plumb woman. She had red hair tied up into a bun, she also had on a worn pink dress with a white apron over it.
“Why hello there, what brings you here?” her voice was sweet like honey, and her cheeks were rosy. Overall she gave off a warm motherly type vibe.
“Hello, He would like a hair cut!” Tubbo replied with a clear voice while Tommy looked blown away by what he had said.
“Of course, come take a seat.” The woman pushed Tommy into a chair. Tommy was stunned from both shock and surprise. “So what are we going for here?” The woman held scissors and faced Tommy to a mirror.
“Umm,” Tommy glanced at Tubbo looking for help.
“Just clean up the messy edges and make it a bit fluffier if you can! Please.” Tubbo had taken a seat in the wooden chair to the side of them.
“Of course! Now let's get started!”
Tubbo watched Tommy's shiny gold hair fall to the ground with every snip. Soon the mop on his head turned into a fluffy masterpiece. Once it was done Tubbo paid the woman they now knew as Nancy and thanked her for the amazing work, now there's one less thing to do.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
They walked from stall to stall looking at clothes and accessories. Each one of the things Tommy picked out Tubbo got. Soon they had bags filled with clothes and gadgets. Though most of the things were Tommy's, Tubbo got a few things for himself, as a bonus they only stole some of it. They had been there for hours, with their sore feet they rested on a bench.
“I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you.” Tommy smiled from ear to ear.
“It was my pleasure.” Tubbo smiled.
“Maybe this whole trans thing won't be that bad!” Tommy chuckled.
“So do you want to tell the family?” Tommy didn’t answer, his eyes only filled with confusion. “You don’t have to, it’s not like you owe them that information.”
“You're odd, you know that?”
“You’re pretty odd yourself.”
From behind they heard an instrumental song moving closer and closer, they didn’t turn till the song was sat right behind them. The sweet sound was coming from a sweet truck. It was none other than the ice cream truck.
“OH MY GOD!” The two screamed bolting from their seats to get some of the sweet treat. Tubbo got two scoops of chocolate drowned in chocolate fudge in a bowl, while Tommy ordered a scoop of vanilla and strawberry on a cone. They munched on the frozen treat not stopping even when they had head splitting brain freeze.
“Uhhhhh Tubbo.” Tommy asked blankly.
“Yea!”
“How are we supposed to get the clothes in without anyone noticing?” as the realization slowly peered on Tubbo's face the harder it was for Tommy to hold back a laugh.
“Oh shit.”
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
The house was quiet, so quiet you could hear the wind rustling outside. Then a loud kick burst open the door.
“THE FUCKING LAWN IS ON FIRE!” Tubbo screamed eyes wide with fear. Everyone jumped from their chairs and came running outside. There was a small fire burning the grass slowly growing bigger and bigger.
“Oh lord.” Phil ran and got a hose. Everyone’s attention was stuck on the red fire burning up their yard giving a short haired blonde an easy way to sneak in unnoticed.
After a long while of throwing the water on the flame it eventually went out. The rest of the kids headed back inside while Phil and Kristen stayed outside to investigate what happened.
Tubbo made his way to his room where Tommy sat patiently.
“The plan you came up with was SETTING THE YARD ON FIRE!?” Tommy yelled
“Hey man it worked didn’t it?” Tubbo shrugged.
“Oh my fucking lord.” Tommy placed a hand on his face while Tubbo laughed out hysterically.
“Ok common Tom, try on the new clothes! It’s fashion show time!” Tubbo threw himself into a spinning chair.
Tommy tried on a turquoise sweater first with a pair of blue jeans. He did a few spins and Tubbo applauded loudly. Next was a large brown plaid with a gray hoodie under it. Then a pair of light blue jeans with a brown leather belt. After a few more outfits they got to the final one which was a simpler one. It was a cream white shirt with a thin dusty red button up over it, and for pants he had on khaki pants with a series of pockets going down the side of the pant leg.
“I think I like this one the most.” Tommy smiled.
“I liked the sweater, I will be stealing that from you by the way, but I must say this one does fit you the most!”
“I look fabulous!” Tommy said while striking a pose.
They heard a knock on the door before it started to creek open.
“Hey! Are you two good with leftovers for lunch…” Kristen stopped talking when she saw Tommy. Tommy became shaky and his eyes filled with tears.
“GET OUT!” He screamed. Tommy ran to the door and forced it shut. The tears swelled higher and higher as Kristen asked him to open it. Every time she said Tam or Tamsin he got more and more frustrated.
“Tubbo, can you help me out please?” Tommy asked.
“Ya of course!” Tubbo rushed over and tried to stop the nod from turning. Tommy rushed away once Tubbo got there.
“Tommy what are you doing!?” Tommy was already jumping up onto his bed and reaching for the window that sat between their two beds. Tommy ignored him and hoisted himself up into the window. “TOM!”
“Bye!” Tommy replied before dropping out of sight.
Tubbo moved away from the door letting Kristen into the room.
“Tubbo, where’s Tamsin?” Kristen asked.
“Uhhhhhh, I don’t know?”

Chapter Text
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN TAMIS JUMPED OUT THE WINDOW!” Kristen ran down the stairs Tubbo followed after her.
“I can’t be any more specific! Tamsin left me at the door and jumped out!” Tubbo replied.
“PHIL! TAMSIN JUMPED OUT HER BEDROOM WINDOW!” Kristen ran over to the closet and pulled out her hat and placed it onto her head.
“WHAT!?” Phil ran out of the kitchen being followed by Techno and Will.
“She jumped out her window and went off running. We need to go find her!” A wave of shock and terror washed over Phil’s face before he was able to think of the words to respond.
“Ok I’ll get my hat,” Phil turned to the boys “you guys stay here.” He walked away to his room and Wilbur followed.
“WHAT! NO! We need to help!” Wilbur argued.
“Wilbur, you are staying here.” Phil raised his voice only a little, it didn’t scare Wilbur so he continued to fight.
“But dad! It’ll be easier with all of us out there! IF YOU COULD JUST LISTEN TO ME!” Phil turned to face his son.
“You are not helping.” He wasn’t yelling when he spoke but this time it scared Wilbur. “You are to stay in this house and help your brother watch Tubbo. Is that clear?” Phil looked down at his son
making Wilbur feel small.
“Yes dad.” Wilbur looked at the floor and Phil walked past.
Phil opened the front door and let Kristen out. Before he closed the door he said “Stay here. We’ll be back.” Then he shut it.
“Ugh” Wilbur groaned and sat on the couch. Techno on the other hand sat down with a book and began to read. Only a few moments went by before Wilbur spoke up again. “We should be out there
looking!” He whined
“Dad told us to stay here.” Techno replied not taking his eyes off the book.
“We’ll dads wrong!” Wilbur clenched his fist.
“What do you expect to even do? Go out there search for an hour and kill every monster that gets in your way?” Techno stood up and crossed his arms. Wilbur didn’t reply. He only looked to the side
to try and not make eye contact with his brother. “You don’t even know how to fight yet, what if you get hurt and then there's two lost siblings.”
Tubbo was watching all of this unfold, he was worried for his new brother and watching the sun lower slowly only made that worry grow stronger and stronger.
“I know that! But you can fight! You’ll be able to protect us!” Wilbur gestured excitedly hoping that the words would convince his brother to let him go look.
“What if there's a horde of zombies!?” Technos voice grew louder.
“Ok, what if that horde of zombies you speak of find Tamsin!?” Wilbur shouted back.
The yelling hurt his ears, it was so loud. How could they even be fighting at a time like this!? Their brother is missing because he was scared of telling them he wanted to be a boy. I guess it’s not completely their fault, they don’t know anything about it. All they know is that their “sister” spontaneously jumped out a window and now they can’t find her.
“Tamsin is a smart kid, she'll just climb a tree or something!” Techno yelled back.
Tubbo grabbed his ears and tightened his grip to try and silence the yells. He looks through good times he had with Tommy.
Meeting for the first time.
Going to a lake and there being no one there.
Getting ice cream to try and make him feel better.
Getting their first job working for Alex.
Getting half way to their goal of buying their own armor.
Killing their first monster.
Escaping a group of angry teens.
Staying up all night.
“Oh my god.” Tubbo muttered under his breath. The other two couldn’t hear him, they were still fighting.
“THIS IS STUPID TAMSIN IS OUR SISTER AND WE SHOULD GO LOOK FOR HER!” Wilbur yelled
“AND TUBBO IS OUR BROTHER AND WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP HIM CALM NOT SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER! NOW CAN WE PLEASE DO THAT!” Techno snapped his head around to the couch expecting to see a frightened Tubbo staring at the ground and shaking but the couch was empty.
“Oh no.” The two muttered.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Tubbo snuck away from the living room and the screaming voices got lower the further away he was. He quickly but quite snuck away and made it to his room.
Tubbo shut the door and rushed over to the desk where he grabbed a piece of paper and a pencil.
Hey guys if you're reading this there’s a slight chance you already know I snuck out. I’m going to go look for
Tubbo stopped. He didn’t want to write Tamsin, but he didn’t want to out him by writing Tommy.
look for our sibling, I think I know where to go, I’ll see you in an hour or so.
-Tubbo
He set the paper on the table. He grasped his satchel and stuffed it with an array of different things. Blankets, water bottles, some hidden candy they had, paper and pencils, a semi dull wooden sword, and a worn out stuffed bee plush. He held the bee in his hand like he had just seen it for the first time. He gave it a hug and stuffed it into the bag. He gripped his hands around the window ledge and hoisted himself up. He now sat on the edge with his feet dangling.
“Oh my lord, how does Tommy do this shit.” Tubbo closed his eyes and slid off the edge tumbling onto the wet grass. He didn’t stay on the ground for long before bringing himself to his feet and running off to a smooth road surrounded by dark green pine trees.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
“TUBBO!” Techno yelled while entering his parents room. His voice was calm though you could still make out the worry in his voice.
“TUBBO!” Wilbur shouted while slamming open the door to his younger siblings room. His voice was filled with panic no sight of calming down anytime soon. He rushed to Tubbos bed and checked under it, nothing there, then he continued to look under Tamsin's bed. Also nothing. When Wilbur brings his head up he notices a piece of paper laying there. He snatched up the paper and skimmed the first few words and knew for a fact that it was from Tubbo.
“TECHNO GET IN HERE NOW!” Wilbur yelled again, gripping his hands tighter around the paper. Techno hurried in and noticed the paper in his hand, he raised one of his eye brows as a way to question what he was holding.
“It’s from Tubbo,” Wilbur paused. He looked down at the paper and began to read the words written in black lead. “
“Hey guys if you're reading this there’s a slight chance you already know I snuck out. I’m going to go look for our sibling, I think I know where to go, I’ll see you in an hour or so. Signed Tubbo''
“We have to go find mom and dad!” Said Techno.
“What! No! They're gonna get so mad at us!” Wilbur replied.
“So you're just going to put your fear of our parents getting a little mad at us over the safety of our little brother?” Wilbur stayed silent. So Techno continued.
“I’m going to go get mum and dad and tell them what happened. Are you coming with me?” Though Wilbur still didn’t speak he moved out of the room and got his shoes on just like the other did.
Now the house was empty. Empty of sound and empty of the people that live in it.
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/
“TOMMY!” Tubbo yelled approaching the end of the road.
“TOMMY!” At the end of the road were tall hedges but you didn’t really pay attention to that. Instead your eyes were drawn to the large marble house. It was only five stories but Tubbo was short so
it seemed like half a million. In the center of the yard there was a fountain. It wasn’t working but it was still beautiful. Tubbo continued to walk past it to the front door and pulled on the handle. The door slid open easily.
“Tommys definitely in here.” Tubbo quickly pulled a piece of paper out of his bag along with a pencil. He wrote the numbers
2 5 10 6
Then slid the paper into a slot that sat right beside a countdown. That was an alarm Sam installed. If you don’t put the code in under a minute alarms would go off and the police would show up. Lucky for them they already had the code. Sam had given it to them a few years back. Now that the Alarm was disabled he had free access to go look for his friend.
“TOMMY!” His footsteps echoed in the halls. “TOMMY!” He began to check their favorite spots. The ballroom was first. They liked to play in there a lot, run at each other, sword fight, and an array of other things. But no one was there to play with him now so he continued the search.
Next was one of the many spare bedrooms. This one was on the second floor, and very messy. The sheets were messed up and ugly and it matched the rest of the room. This is where they usually slept whenever they were able to spend the night there. Had not been cleaned once. They spent a lot of nights there jumping on the bed, eating sweets till they got sick. It was awesome! But no one was there so he had to move on.
He checked many many more rooms but no one was found now he was at the last room he thought Tommy could be. The doors opened to a bright large room. The walls were splattered with every color you could think of. It was from the brightest red to the darkest purple. Tommy and Tubbo always called it the rainbow room though the real name of the room was the colors of fallen kingdoms. It was always the best place to go when you're upset. It’s bright and welcoming and it feels like you can truly relax when you're there. Not this time Tubbo was more stressed than ever.
Every time Tubbo called out Tommy’s name and there was no reply the nervousness in his stomach ate away at him.
“TOMMY!” He began “I SWEAR IM ALONE JUST PLEASE COME OUT AND TALK!” He paused half expecting an answer. “PLEASE REPLY IM SCARED YOUR HURT!” Still no reply.
Tubbos' eyes began to fill with tears.
Where could he be? Tubbo thought to himself. “TOMMY!” Tubbo screamed a final time, so loud that his voice cracked slightly at the end. The silence filled his ears and it was louder than when someone was screaming in his ears. He would have preferred it at this point. Anything that would have made the silences stop.
“TUBBO?” His name echoed through the hall. He brought his head up to try and identify who had called his name.
“TOMMY!? WHERE ARE YOU!?” He screamed.
“I’M IN THE BALLROOM! WHERE ARE YOU?” Tommy replied.
“DOESN'T MATTER! I’LL MEET YOU THERE.” Tubbo brought himself to his feet so fast it made him dizzy. He didn't wait for the dizziness to wear off before running to the ballroom.
He took a few turns and ran down a hallway before bursting through the ball room doors to find Tommy standing there. Tommy opened up his arms and Tubbo ran straight into them giving him the warmest hug he possibly could. It was a great few seconds before Tubbo moved away. He brought up his hand and landed a hard slap on Tommy’s face. Leaving a red mark.
“TUBBO! WHAT THE HELL!?” Tommy screamed in shock.
“YOU SHOULD HAVE FUCKING ANSWERED SOONER! I WAS WORRIED SICK I THOUGHT YOU WERE FUCKING HURT OR DEAD!” Tubbo screamed letting tears pour down his cheeks.
“I’m sorry Tubbo.” Tommy’s looked to the ground. “I was just so scared that they were going to hate me. And I-I didn’t know what to do! So I ran.” Tommy was crying now too.
“It’s ok, let's just go.” Tubbo began to walk forward before Tommy spoke up.
“What! NO! I can’t go back! Not yet! They’ll be mad at me!” Tommy whimpered, taking a step back.
“What no, they won’t be mad, they’re worri-“ Tommy shoved past Tubbo and ran without a word. Tubbo followed after. They burst through the doors and ran into the night.
“TOMMY! I'M SORRY I WON'T MAKE YOU GO I PROMISE! JUST PLEASE STOP RUNNING!” Tommy stopped and walked over to the fountain and sat down. Tubbo approached slower out of breath and slumped down beside the blonde who was cradling himself.
“We could lie, say you just got a haircut.” Tubbo suggested.
“No, why would someone run because they got a random haircut.”
They sat in silence.
“You know what! If you tell them and they don’t accept you then screw them! We don’t need them! We can live here!” Tubbos' voice was filled with excitement. Tommy stared at the ground for a moment before looking up and smiling.
“You know what ya! We’ll be able to buy food because we work for Alex! Sam and Ponk already know we stay here so if they come by and see us they won’t even question it!”
“See, it's a perfect plan!”
“TAMSIN! TUBBO!” A voice screamed from the distance. Both of them snapped their heads around to see two figures from a far. Their eyes widened as they saw two figures turn into two brothers.
“TUBBO!” They yelled first. Then “TAMSIN!” The two brothers yelled and ran over pulling the two into a tight hug. They both stood up and Techno began to lecture them.
“WHAT MAKES YOU THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO GO RUNNING OFF AT SUNSET!? WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR HEADS!”
“Why’s your hair short?” Wilbur asked Techno stopped talking and look at his sister.
“My Name is Tommy.” The blonde spoke firmly. The twins exchanged a look before turning back to the blonde and brunette.
“Uhhhhhhh, what?” Techno muttered.
“I’m a boy!” Tommy continued clearly trying to appear tough but it was not working.
“And it’s either you call me Tommy! Or we’re not family anymore!” Tommy said the threat and the twins looked hurt.
“Did you think we wouldn’t accept you?” Wilbur muttered. “I’m so sorry if we made you feel like you couldn’t tell us, it’s ok that you want to be called Tommy. Right Techno?” Techno seemed to be in a trance but he snapped out of it when he heard his name.
“Yes of course! When did you find out?” Said Techno.
“Oh umm, a few days ago.” Tamsin replied.
“Is that why you cut your hair?” Wilbur asked.
“Ya.” Tommy said softly.
“It looks really good! Maybe I should get you to cut my hair!” He joked.
“Oh Tubbo actually took me to get it done.”
“And you paid for it!? How do you have the money!?”
“We may or may not have a job?” Tubbo butted in.
“WHAT!?” The twins yelled.
“WHO!? WHO HIRED YOU TWO!?” Tubbo and Tommy chuckled at Techno and Wilbur’s surprise.
“His name is Alex! He’s actually the one who suggested the name Tommy.”
“For right now I’m gonna gloss over the fact that you have a job, I’m very happy you were able to get your haircut to your liking. Do you want to get any new clothes?”
“Also already done, also by Tubbo.”
“HOW MUCH DO YOU GUYS GET PAID!?”
They all chuckled minus Wilbur and the laughs faded into the night.

Kristen and Phil searched for their daughter, Phil in the sky and Kristen on the ground. It got harder and harder to see as the time ticked. Phil dove forward and landed on the ground in front of Kristen.
“Have you found anything?” Kristen asked. Her voice was soft but layered with worry.
“No, but we just have to keep looking.” Phil took Kristen’s hand and gave her two yellow glowing balls, while Phil held two more in his own hand.
“MOM! DAD!” A voice echoed from afar.
“Tamsin?” The two said in sync.
“MOM! DAD!” Said a different voice.
“Wilbur!?” Phil said alone. The two took off running and with a dozen feet they appeared in front of all four of their children.
Kristen fell to her knees and gripped her daughter tight in a hug.
“Tammy! I was so so so so so worried!” Kristen released her child with tears pouring down her face. Phil came closer and sat down beside his wife. His tears settled on the brim of his lower eyelid.
“If you thought we’d be mad about you cutting your hair we’re not! I used to have short hair for a little bit too and your father had long hair when I met him.” Kristen smiled.
“Ya but it’s not just that…” Tommy said gently. The parents' faces became dressed in worry again.
“What is it dear?” The blonde fell silent. Tubbo made his way closer and placed his hand on the blonde's shoulder. Tubbo smiled and nodded and that is all he needed.
“The reason why I cut my hair is because I am trans.” Tommy said confidently. “I am a boy, my name is Tommy, deal with it.” Tommy crossed his arms and stood proud.
“Oh, are you sure?” Phil asked.
“What’s that supposed to mean!?” Tommy shouted. “Are you not supportive!?”
“OH MY GOD! Yes yes yes we are very supportive! I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that.” Phil blurted out.
“You said you chose the name Tommy?” Kristen asked softly.
“Yes.” Tommy let his arms down.
“How’d you choose that name?”
“Ummmm,” Tommy looked back at his brothers. They all gesture to him to continue. “Found it in a book at the library.” Tommy smiled and Tubbo nodded confirming what Tommy said.
“That’s a lovely name. Come on, let's go home now.” Kristen stood up and so did Phil. As Tommy passed the two twins he stopped.
“Are you going to tell Mom and Dad that I have a job?” Tommy whispered.
“Depends, how much candy can you give us to keep quiet?” Wilbur replied and he took off running and so did Techno.
“Oh you son of a bitch!” Tommy yelled and chased after them while Tubbo followed.
Tommy could live in his own skin now. Comfortably. He was a boy though he was born a girl, and though he wished the mistake hadn’t been made in the first place most of the time he’s happy how it happened.
The End.
Notes:
