“Marriage,” the King said.
Hoseok tended to deliver unpleasant information in a rush, eager to get it out and make it better. His father didn’t. He delivered terrible news with the carefulness of a surgeon and the heart of a poet.
But this time he had spoken quickly, the two syllables of the word blurring into one, so fast Hoseok had trouble believing his own ears.
“Marriage?”
Hoseok’s sister, Jiwoo, crown princess, had met her husband at university years before. It had been a fairy tale romance. They’d gotten married in a private ceremony just the year prior.
