Summary
After twelve years of illness, heartache, and missed chances, Keith and Shiro have finally found their way back to one another.
Keith Kogane has loved Takashi Shirogane in some form or another for almost half his life.
Somehow, it's this truth above all others that flashes through his mind as he follows Shiro into bed for the first time, as he crawls on top of him and kisses lips he'd once given up hope of ever tasting, as he rises up on his knees to fumble with the buttons and clasps that stand between him and Shiro's desire-flushed skin. Maybe he should be thinking about the upcoming battle or the hurt that separated them for deca-phoebs or the fear of losing Shiro that still haunts his every step, but as he slides a hand up Shiro's clothed thigh, this truth - this overwhelming love he still carries for the beautifully flawed man beneath him - is all that matters.
This is an interlude set after chapter 16 of In Sunshine and in Shadow, but it works as a stand-alone piece as well.
