Chapter Text
A black screen fades into the backdrop of an airport. Tall, intimidating structures could be seen, along with an actual airplane in the distance. Eventually, the camera pans to a proud looking blonde woman, her blue eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Season Three of Total Drama, ladies and gentlemen!" her voice bubbles, eyes looking intensely into the camera. "The world will be mine, from sea to shining sea." She leans back. "As usual, I'm your hostess, Blaineley O'Halloran."
Blaineley frowns as a tour bus is seen pulling up in the background.
"Unfortunately, I'm forced to share my world with a free-ring traveling team freak-show. They'll be competing all around the globe for another million dollars!" She quickly recovers, plastic-like smile returning as she gestures toward the oncoming bus.
"So, let's meet our players!"
A handful of contestants make their way off of the bus with large, red backpacks, most likely carrying their belongings. They smile or even wave at the camera as they walk by. "Duncan, Courtney, Alejandro, Trent, Harold..."
As the contestants continue walking, Alejandro pauses, causing Trent to follow his steps and crash into the male's back. Trent sneers, looking up at the Spaniard he'd just bumped into.
"Are there reserved seats? I.e, can I have one not behind Alejandro's pony hair extensions?" Trent jeers, pointing defensively at the now agitated male.
Alejandro bristles, glaring at the goth boy behind him. "Discúlpame? My extensions are human hair!"
From the other side, Courtney sneaks a quick snicker. "You learn something new every day," she smirks, earning her a glare from Alejandro.
Trent chuckles, smiling at the green-haired punk. She returns a cheeky grin, unaware of the miffed Duncan at her side. He shoots her a hard glare, displeased with the punk's seemingly flirty attitude, though Courtney doesn't seem to notice. (And they'd just arrived, too, he'd thought sorely.)
Meanwhile, more contestants make their way off of the tour bus. Blaineley continues to introduce them consecutively.
"Tyler, Izzy, Eva and Leshawna!..." She soon trails off as strained and fearful huffs were heard from inside the bus, whilst no one exited.
"Guys?"
Out of the bus comes a frightful Izzy, held tightly in the arms of a concerned Eva. "Sweet strawberry preserves, no.." Izzy coos to herself in an almost self-comforting manner.
Eva frowns, looking over at the blonde hostess. "She's afraid of flying, remember?" she says, continuing off of the bus with her friend.
"Aerophobia," Leshawna had began from behind the two girls as she followed them off the bus. "From the Latin, as opposed to aeuronausophobia, the fear of air sickness."
"I think we could use less of the narration, Webster." Bridgette follows, stepping down the bus steps with an irritated expression.
Blaineley continues to introduce the contestants. "And returning favorites: Bridgette, Sierra, and-"
"Hey everyone! This year's winner has entered, baby!" Anne Maria jumps down the steps, readily and excitedly posing in front of the cameras. "Where's the plane?"
"I know, right? Let's fly!!" Owen jumps off of the bus, making a flying motion with his arms. Unfortunately, gravity doesn't work that way, and both him and Maria are sent crashing to the ground. It seems as if all of the oxygen is shoved out of her as she's crushed by both the sudden pressure and Owen's larger body mass.
"Of course Owen's back!" Blaineley grins. "Also returning this season, Lindsay! And the co-host of Total Drama Aftermath, Noah!"
As both of these contestants make their way off the bus, both of them fail to see Owen and Maria and are sent tumbling to the ground. All of them groan in pain as a human pile is formed in front of the bus.
Anne Maria squirms out from the human heap, looking up at the blonde hostess. "Uhm, I think you forgot to introduce me, Blaineley," she points out.
Blaineley lets out a long sigh before continuing. "...And Anne Maria." Looking back at the camera, a newfound excitement forms on her face. "Now, to mix things up and keep everything fresh and exciting, two new competitors have been introduced this season!
"She's an honor roll student with a diplomat for a dad and the outstanding ability to enchant the pants off of most species: Heather!"
An Asian girl with a light complexion and shades appears at the bus exit, a maroon crop-top and a belted designer skirt outlining her seemingly flawless figure. Lifting her shades, her heels clack lightly against the surface of the stairs as she makes her way out of the bus.
"Shinshi, are you alright?" she asks, reaching out to help the fallen boys, Noah and Owen, off of the ground. Her sweet, calming voice was enough to send anyone into a state of complete bliss.
Both boys are glad to comply, though a look of uncertainty crosses Noah's face once he catches himself relaxing. "I'm taken," he simply states, brushing dust off of himself as he twists out of the girl's embrace and makes his way over to the other campers. Owen shortly follows, though disappointed to leave the girl's silk-like touch.
"And of course, josei..." The girl turns to the other two fallen contestants, Anne Maria and Lindsay, offering her hands for support as she helps the girls up.
Lindsay's face flushes the slightest shade of pink, and she unconsciously takes a step back. "U-um... I like boys," she stutters, avoiding the gaze of the Asian girl as she's given a soft smile.
Blaineley rolls her eyes before turning back to the camera. "And! He's a sweet-addict super-fan with at least 16 total drama blogs: Cody!"
A short boy who wore a striped collared shirt and teal jeans practically leaped off the bus, the tinted sunglasses on his head nearly flying off at his sudden landing. His face was round, and there was a noticeable gap between his front teeth. He frantically looks around, a terrifying amount of glee in his big blue eyes.
"Oh my god, I love you guys! This is practically the greatest day of my life!" It seems almost as if Cody hyperventilates when he says this, arms thrown out excitedly. His struggle to contain himself is quite apparent as he follows with, "Anybody got a paper bag I can breathe into? Ahhh!!"
The other contestants are nearly knocked over like bowling pins as he darts over to a now shocked Sierra. She looks down worriedly at the energetic boy.
"Oh gosh, Sierra! It's really you! I've dreamt of this exact moment- only neither of us were wearing a shirt..." He leans closer to the concerned girl as he speaks, smile growing even wider. Sierra lets out a silent gasp, unconsciously stepping back as her invisible personal space bubble is shattered. However, before she could reply, a loud train-like shuffling was heard as a vehicle approached the contestants.
Only it wasn't a vehicle. It was a... plane?
"What the...?" Courtney rasps as the other contestants stare up at the massive, totally completely stable aircraft. Duncan frowns, stepping forward and raising a hand (as to give himself a "turn to speak").
"Excuse me, but I'd like to express some concern about the safety of this plane," he queries, ending the sentence with a silent cringe as a rusted chunk of metal makes a loud 'CLANK!' as it falls from the disheveled plane.
"Relax! It's perfectly safe," Blaineley insists, sidestepping to make way for a raccoon that had just climbed out of the hole where the chunk of metal had previously been. She gestures proudly toward the entrance, looking eagerly at the crowd of terrified contestants. "Now boarding!"
Izzy jumps out from her spot in the crowd, distress evident in her expression. She practically shrieks as she expresses her discontent. "Oh no. No, no, no! I can't ride in that! Call the United Nations! Call a cab! Call my mom! No, I'm not doing this; I'm out! This is unethical, this is-"
Unfortunately, her pleas were cut short as the sound of a frying pan rang out through the entire airport. Cringing, everyone opens their eyes to see a seemingly unconscious Izzy on her stomach, hugging the ground beneath them.
"Does anyone else have a problem with it?" Blaineley asks, dropping the now dented frying pan from her hands and looking up innocently. Of course, this is returned with a collection of 'no!'s and 'of course not's, every onlooker prudent in avoiding Izzy's now powerless state.
"Great!" Blaineley turns back to the camera, excitement returning once again. "We're saving YOU a first-class seat for all the action, right here! On Total... Drama... World Tour!"
("Seriously? Courtney caterwauls.)
