Slam
Ena groaned in pain. She had just hit the floor of the sekai, why did mafuyu have to make the floor so hard anyways? Even worse, she was smothered by Mizuki, who was laying directly on top of her. Ena pushed them off of her and sat up.
"Mizuki you idiot! You were supposed to put on our special playlist, not that song"
"Ouch.. you're so mean.." Mizuki also got up and looked around the empty gray sekai. "But look on the bright side, we don't have to worry about your parents anymore~" they said while they crawled back towards Ena with an evil grin.
"Shut up! And put your shirt back on!" She barked angrily while buttoning up her own. "You tore one of the buttons off! What kind of animal are you!?"
"Aww Enanan~ sometimes you make me think you don't really reciprocate my feelings."
Ena was taken aback by this, "Well… it's not true. Whatever you start thinking, I don't care. It's not true.." Since this was such a special day, they couldn't allow any interruptions. Ena sat to face Mizuki and placed her hands on their shoulders. They stared into each other's eyes GAYLY. As they leaned in for a big CHU, Ena noticed something.
"Eh?? Why do you always-"
"What is that?" Far off in the distance, they saw something. Not only that, they saw someone. They both decided to walk over until they got close enough to see details.
..
Mafuyu?
Mizuki and Ena approached quietly and hid behind a hulking steel beam - Mafuyu looked busy. She leaned over one of the steps of the small stage with a pencil in hand. She looked deep in thought, trying to write something on a card. In front of her, on said stage were two wooden poles standing upright, with a big pink banner hanging between them. There's only one person who could have written so elegantly on it, "♥️ Happy Valentine ♥️". Other things were set around too, such as a table with assorted snacks on them. Those cheap sugar cookies you buy at any grocery store, lemonade, and others.
"Why are we hiding?" Mizuki whispered.
"Because…….. I don't know" Ena whispered back.
Mizuki dragged Ena out and walked up. As soon as they took one loud footstep, Mafuyu's head whipped around.
"What are you doing here" she hissed. The air suddenly turned to freezing levels and a blade of ice formed on Mafuyu's hand. (for reference, see Kanade Kuest)
"Woah woah there, no need for the whole ice queen thing! We'll chill out!"
The pun was so awful that Mafuyu's eyes returned to their usual dead state and the ice melted in an instant.
"We thought you might need some help, since you're so insensitive and bad with feelings"
Mizuki glanced at Ena with a skeptical look while she claimed that Mafuyu was bad with feelings. They then noticed something on the table, a dictionary? Ena went to pick it up. There were several bookmarks in between random pages. She flipped to a few of them. Love, appreciation, kiss.
"That's really sweet…but sad at the same time" Mizuki whispered from over her shoulder.
"Mafuyu, is this for Kanade?" Ena asked

Mafuyu's pencil stopped but she didn't answer.
"Hey, there's no need to stress over planning! You already decorated so much. Just call Kanade here and tell her how you feel! From your heart!" Mizuki said reassuringly.
"My...heart"
"Yep, I'll text her right now actually"
"NO" Mafuyu stood up and took a step towards Mizuki, but gave up when she realized it was too late.
"Ma..fuyu"
Ena and Mizuki jumped as a familiar voice spoke behind them, Miku! "It will … be okay. You found your…..true feelings once…. I'm sure you can…. do it again" she said. Ena and Mizuki both nodded in agreement.
Mafuyu looked around at everyone, "I will have to try. Even if I can't, it's not like I am unaccustomed to failure."
"Geez, could you at least try to be positive? It's valentines day" Ena said aggressively.
A few minutes later, the four of them sat on the steps waiting, when Kanade appeared in a flash of light.
"Happy valentine!" They all said in unison, two of them more distinctly enthusiastic than the other two.
"...Oh. That's what this is about. Well then, happy valentine"
And so, Nightcord spent quality time together eating cookies and singing a few songs. It was really fun, way different from when they called on Nightcord. After the liveliness died down a bit, Mizuki urged Mafuyu quietly. She stood up and walked to the middle of the hub.
"Kanade"
"Yes?"
"I…" Mafuyu took a deep breath before going on. "I really… appreciate you. When we're together, you make me feel… a little bit closer to being complete. I'm not sure what love means yet, but I hope that we can find out… together"
Miku, Ena, and Mizuki applauded lightly.
"Hey! I see you sneaking glances at that card!" Ena shouted in accusation.
"...I know of no such thing" Mafuyu put her right hand out of view, avoiding Ena's accusations.
"Hey hey, write that down! Song lyrics!"
The banter died down when they noticed Kanade hadn't reacted yet. Everyone's heads turned to face her and see that she was… crying? Seconds later, she got up and hastily embraced Mafuyu. It caught her off guard, but she returned the hug. After they held each other for a while, Kanade whispered something into Mafuyu's ear, and then a tiny smile formed on her face. Now they both turned to face the rest of N25, specifically at Miku.
"Ahem.."
Miku walked in front of Ena and Mizuki.
"Gomen."
She tapped them and sent them back home from the sekai. They appeared back in Ena's room with a flash, and looked around at the place that was exactly how they left it. Ena heard a click and looked over to see Mizuki's hand on the door's lock.
"Now, where were we…"
