Summary
“... You want us to keep having dinner together, even though Henry won’t be around?”
Emma’s breath catches in her throat. She honestly hadn’t considered that she and Regina wouldn’t continue seeing each other. Somehow, the thought of not being able to spend time with Regina feels even more devastating to her than Henry leaving for College. She swallows the lump in her throat, trying to ignore the hollow feeling in her stomach, all too familiar from years of rejection, before she desperately tries to recover.
“Uh, yeah. I mean, not necessarily like this, if that’s not what you’d like, but we can still hang out after work, or watch a movie, or, you know…” Emma watches Regina’s lip slowly inch upwards and she feels her confidence return enough to add, “... Go out for drinks more often?”
Regina all out smiles at her, eyes sparkling with mirth and something else Emma can’t quite discern but she knows it makes her heart soar.
“I’d love that, Emma.” Regina answers.Or,
When they suddenly find out Henry is going out of state for College, it leaves Emma and Regina to figure out how to adapt their family dinner times.
