Chapter Text
The dawn of a new day rose up in Primp Town. The birds were chirping away, the sky’s dreamy blue color starting to show. Primp Magic School was soon to open its doors for their pupils to learn all sorts of spells… And of course, Puyo Puyo battles! Among one of the students was a boy named Sig. He was known for being a bit spaced out compared to most of his peers. Also, if one were to ever mention a bug, he’d go on tangents! Sig’s favorite thing in the world is bugs. His friends come to a close second. However, today seemed way more tiring than most days.
Sig almost fell asleep a couple of times while getting ready for school! If it weren’t for his girlfriend, Amitie, he probably wouldn’t have made it past the door.
“Siiiig! You need to go to bed earlier!!” Amitie whined. She was always worried Sig wasn’t getting enough sleep.
“Can’t.” Sig replied. Sig never really spoke much, usually only one word or a simple sentence… Unless bugs were in the equation.
“Eh?” Amitie squeaked out, “What do you mean?”
“Looked for fireflies…” Sig said, his voice a little more drowsy.
Amitie snapped her fingers, waking Sig up a little more. “We’ll find some fireflies later, bud! We can’t be late, otherwise Ms. Accord will give us supplementary lessons! Waaaah!” She pulled her hat to her face.
Sig simply hummed, keeping up the pace with Amitie as they arrived at Primp Magic School. The school was bustling with students trying to get to their classes. It was so… loud. It was noisier than usual. Sig grumbled a bit at this, but his face didn’t change.

“Ugh, Raffina! Your hair is covering the board! Move your big head so I can see!” Klug shouted. You could hear Raffina scoff.
Sig flinched as he was rudely awoken by his classmate. He was enjoying his nap!
Klug turned over to Sig, with a disgusted look on his face, “And you!! Stop falling asleep in class, or you’ll make our grade average so much LOWER!” He huffed as he turned back to attempt to see what Ms. Accord was talking about.
Why did he care if I rested my eyes? Does he know how hard it is to get up everyday? Sig thought to himself, but he sighed and let those thoughts go. You can’t let Klug get to you. He’s only doing it because he cares. Maybe?
“Next, we’re going to go over how to make a sandwich chain!” Ms. Accord chirped.
“You all better be pawing attention! Nya!!” Popoi chimed in with his signature snarkiness.
As Ms. Accord was teaching her lesson, Sig tried his hardest to pay attention. However, something in him was just not feeling it today. The lesson didn’t make sense to him, no matter how many notes he took. He grumbled a little under his breath.
Sig looked over at Amitie, she was bouncing her leg up and down as she was writing something down… Or was she doodling on her paper again? She always drew such nice pictures…
Oh, right. The lesson. Ugh… Sig looked back at his notes, only to realize there wasn’t much to go off of. He already fell asleep for a while, how could he catch up at this rate? Even if he didn’t always show it, that stressed him out. Bad.
It’ll be fine… I’ll just go find some bugs later… Sig thought to himself.
Before Sig knew it, the bell rang for lunch. Ms. Accord gave everyone their assignment to do back at home, waving to her class farewell for the time being. Amitie quickly caught up to Sig, with that same cheerful look on her face since the day he met her.
“Hey, Sig! Do you wanna have lunch together?” Amitie asked. He nodded, with a weak smile on his face. At least at lunch, he gets to spend more time with his girlfriend, Amitie. She always cared for him even at his lowest points. But did she really know his lowest..?
