Have you ever had a very close friend or family pass away and it takes what feels like forever to grieve and come to terms with it. My name is Cameron and this is my story.
On February 23,1978 Camelot High School had gone into lockdown. There were rumors of a kid overdosing in the locker room bathroom. Whether the rumors were true we wouldn’t know until it made the news or any information was given. A couple hours later the school lifted the lockdown and returned to normal or so everyone had thought. After getting home from school Cameron’s mom received a phone call informing them that Xavier Rodriguez was the student that had passed away. Cameron’s mom had started telling him this and Cameron felt like the whole world had shattered around him. He fell to his knees starting to sob and hyperventilate. You might be asking why I had a full on breakdown after my mom told me of Xaviers passing. You see Xavier was my best friend since grade school. We did everything together ever since we were little. Cameron’s mom comforted him as he was still sobbing. Eventually Cameron calmed down and wanted to be alone. He started thinking of a quote that hit home. “You must come to terms with the fact that some day you will die." He wondered how Xavier’s death would affect his life. He started thinking how his life would go on if he would have a quick death or a slow death. Cameron preferred to have a quick death. To have a slow death seems too much to handle knowing that you’ll be in pain until you pass.
