Half A Witch

Summary:

SPOILERS FOR ANY SPORT IN A STORM. It's been roughly two hours since it's "airing" as of writing.

Willow goes over the rough year she's had in her head as she looks at her own reflection. Weirdly enough, on paper it seems like it should have been a great year- but for some reason she feels incomplete.

Notes:

Kind of see this as a smaller version of Envy from the Arbor. Obviously I do not hate Lumity- I just see Willow as someone who really bottles up their feelings and isn't really sure what to do with them especially regarding the two and find that interesting to explore.

Any Sport in a Storm has a lot of great Hunter content, but Willow's part in the episode felt a little lacking. There was a scene where she's at the mirror and the has mirror has two photos stuck on the side- and one of them is from Grom. Not saying it's particularly deep, but it got the gears turning and you got this.

Work Text:

Willow had a rough year.

It was hard enough changing tracks- that came with it's own issues of adaptation. Willow was adept at that.

Like on paper, this should have been a great year.

She dealt with her own confidence issues and bullies, she took on new interests and friends, she was on a track she excelled at and was actually happy with... but for some reason it all felt weirdly hollow.

She never wanted to say this out loud- Luz was a lot.

She was a lot when she caught feelings for her, she was a lot after reintroducing her to Amity.

She was a lot to be thankful for- but also a bit of biting resentment behind her.

Why did she have to go with her?

She understood of course, she had been in love with Amity too...

Maybe if she could just get this team together she wouldn't have to think about them again.

She looked at the picture they took together at Grom- it should have been so obvious at the time, but she couldn't see it despite her glasses.

She looked at the mirror. Her other half to this half-a-witch. Leave the feelings with her.
