Summary:

SPOILERS FOR REACHING OUT. This episode has been out for a hour and 30 minutes.

Vee and Camila set down flowers.

Work Text:

Camila and Vee approached a grave. Vee was confused as to why they were holding flowers, but Camila just patted their shoulder.

"Me and Luz used to go here this time of year to lie flowers for her father," Camila replied, being careful with her words. "Since he passed on, it's become sort of a tradition with us."

She welled up with tears but maintained strength as she put down some flowers against the grave, covered with overgrown grass.

The practice was foreign for Vee, but she rest down the flowers too. It's not like she still needed to pretend to be Luz at this point, nor was she some kind of replacement, but it felt right to do.

She held hands with Camila as they looked at the grave with a sense of sojourn together.

"I'm glad you're here, Vee," Camila said, smiling as she held Vee's hand tighter. "I don't think I'm ready to do this alone."

"Right, hah." Vee replied. She felt herself overwhelmed with emotion.

In the moment, they felt like they were daughter and mother more than they ever had.

Camila felt abandoned, but Vee softened the hardest edge of that feeling.

Thank you, hija.
