There was the sound of the door shutting. A few footsteps.
“She’s not here?” the voice asked.
Zoey dropped her voice lower, almost conspiratorial. “No. She went out—probably won’t be back for, like… fifteen, twenty minutes.”
A beat of silence. Then a quiet chuckle. “Good. Then I can steal you for a while.”
There was a nervous little hiccup of laughter from Zoey. “Wait—don’t get too close, I’m still live—”
“I’ll stay out of frame,” the voice promised, tone coaxing.
The sound of a hand brushing fabric, then a soft shuffle—the mic catching the rustle as Zoey was pulled slightly sideways. A faint smack of lips meeting. Quick. Too quick to be mistaken.
Chat slowed to a crawl.

[rumi4lifer]: wait…

Summary
“Can I look yet?” Lord burbles. The water muffles the sounds above, but he can barely make out Collector’s squeal.
“Not yet,” they chirp, “just let me… there! Done! Look, look, look!”
There’s the tiny feeling of two hands tugging on his scruff, the only part of his body breaching the waterskin - he blinks the boiling water from his eyes, feeling each bubble burst playfully against his skull, and peers upward. A smattering of stars fills the sky directly above them - scattered crudely, surrounded by deep empty space. The stars are clustered into two bloblike shapes, although he can’t recognise the fine points of either.
“It’s us!” Collector shrieks. “Look! There’s you, and there’s your horns and your claws and your tail - and there’s me! And there’s Eggy! We’re holding hands, see? See?”
