Aizawa doesn't really remember how it happened, but all he knows now is that he and Midoriya are now cats. Something about Midoriya helping a kid who lost his parents, then the kid got scared, and turned them into cats. The kid got to his parents safely, but after that, he and Midoriya had to find their way back to UA. It shouldn’t be too hard, after all, they knew where it was. It would just take longer because they were smaller. Or so they thought.
Since Aizawa doesn’t have his quirk as a cat, he couldn’t do too much to stop what looks to be a 16 year old using his quirk, what appears to be a paralysing quirk, on them. The kids were just sitting on a bench in the evening, when one spotted both of them and lured them over with them just thinking he wanted to give them scratches. He didn’t look harmful; he was short and lean, had light brown hair, and a rather boring looking face. The other two were different. One had totally green skin, with pitch black eyes, and long flowing dark green hair, the other was tall, spiked orange hair and piercing pink eyes. They just looked like normal teens hanging out, wanting to pet some cats.
He didn’t know that he was going to be completely frozen in a bubble with Midoriya tight beside him.
Now, considering they were cats, Midoriya was really, really small. The size of a kitten, obviously. This meant that when he was pulled out of the pink bubble that surrounded them he couldn’t do much to fight back against whatever it was that they were going to do to him. The most he did was flail and nip at their hands. The sight would have been funny under different circumstances.
“Whoa, I know we were talking about it, but I didn’t think you would actually do it!” The orange haired one said.
“I’m not a baby! Plus, it’ll be fun! Come on, we need to find a more secluded spot.” The brown haired one said. All of a sudden, the pink ball started flying, and so did he. No matter what he did, he couldn’t move at all. Aizawa also wanted, no, needed to know what they were talking about. They better not hurt Midoriya. He would so make them pay if they did.
It pained him to see Midoriya so scared being held tightly in the grip of the brown haired kid. He knew whatever was about to happen, wasn’t good.
And it wasn’t.
What he saw after was horrible. In all senses of the word.
The brown haired kid, apparently named Ken, dragged him and Midoriya all the way to what he can only assume is one of their backyards. It was fairly small, with lots of tall grass, a firepit, and a white fence all the way around the border. They lived in a harsher neighborhood.
“So, what do you want to do first? We have this tiny kitten all to ourselves.” Ken asked. And boy did that make Shouta’s blood boil.
“Are you sure this is a good idea? I mean, they’re helpless. They can’t do anything to fight back.” The green haired girl stated, timidly.
“That’s why he’s perfect, Maru! We’re not going to use the older cat, he might actually do some damage.” Sure as hell he would.
“I’ll just keep him in the bubble until I let them go!” The green haired girl, Maru, nodded, still seeming unsure.
“Cmon! It’s just a cat! Plus, I’m positive you’ve wanted to know what it feels like to break someone’s bones! Feel that snap and know that they’re in pain!” The look on Midoriya’s face has horror-stricken, frozen in shock, and Shouta wanted to murder Ken right here right now. He can’t move still, but once he can, Ken should be lucky he’s still alive.
“So, who wants the front legs and who wants the back? I dibs front!” And if Midoriya didn’t let out the most terrified and high pitched shriek ever.
“Whoa, calm down buddy. We haven’t even done anything yet! Also, I dibs the other front one! Sorry Maru, you get the back leg.”
“I-I don’t think I can do this. I’m sorry, it’s just not right.” Maru trembled out, voice barely above a whisper.
“Really? Too scared? Suit yourself. Not my loss.” Ken shrugged off Maru’s disinterest and turned back to the struggling kitten in his hands.
“Now, off to you…”
What Aizawa saw next was worse than he could have ever imagined. He couldn’t believe that both he and those kids were human, as they were doing such inhumane things. The kid named Ken, who was still holding Midoriya, grabbed his left front leg and twisted. The snap that happened after that could only be described as atrocious. Whatever happened next Aizawa couldn’t remember, as he was too fueled with blind rage.
Aizawa and Midoriya were both dropped off in a back alley behind a gas station. The larger black cat was still trapped inside the pink bubble, the sights he saw in it that will never leave his head.
Midoriya ended up with all his legs broken, had cuts on his back and across his eye, presumably by one of their quirks, and a small patch of his stomach hair burned off by a lighter. The small cat was wrapped in duct tape, under the guise of maybe he’ll be able to walk again. As soon as Aizawa was out of this quirk, he would be tearing those kids to shreds.
The black haired couldn’t see Midoriya the way he was faced, but he could hear the horrible sounds coming from behind him. He could only imagine what the green haired cat looked like.
A couple minutes later, filled with Midoriya's pained whimpers, Aizawa is finally released from the bubble. His immediate reaction to this was to run over to Midoriya and comfort him. Jeez, those kids were lucky they left him there, otherwise they would be dead.
Midoriya looked horrible. He was covered in duct tape, with a tear stained face, trying to get his paws unstuck.
“Hey kid, you’re going to do more damage if you try to do that. Just leave it for now.” Aizawa said, as gently as he could.
Mew, Was all he got in return.
Without knowing what else to do, the black haired cat picked the kitten up from the ground by his scruff, trying to ignore the pained sound that the feline made beneath him.
He didn’t exactly know where he was at the moment, but anywhere would be better than that alley. His injuries might get infected, which would just add on top of all the other problems.
As he was about to leave the alley, he heard the door to the gas station right beside them open. Crap, that might lead to some problems.
Trying to be as discreet as possible, Aizawa walked the other way, only for Midoriya to let out a long mewl. It wasn’t his fault, but that made the cashier, who looked to be stepping outside for a break, look over in their direction. Shit. That’s not what they need right now.
When she spots them, she hurriedly walks over to them. Midoriya wasn’t heavy as a cat, but carrying him didn’t make it any easier to run away from her.
The gas station employee who had long red hair pulled back into a ponytail, who as soon as she saw the situation at hand, let out a gasp.
“Oh no, that poor little guy.” She whispered out.
The girl crouched down and held out a hand to Aizawa, trying to show she was safe to be around.
Aizawa remembered all the times he did that to alley cats who were in trouble. He turned around to look at the girl, who looked pretty friendly. Maybe she’ll help. Then again, the kids also looked nice, yet here we are.
No, she’s different. He could feel it.
Hesitantly, the black haired cat walked over to the outstretched hand, sniffing it. After waiting a couple seconds to see if the girl was going to do anything, he rubbed up against her hand to show he trusted her.
“Hey, kitty, is it okay if I see your kitten there? He looks pretty beat up,” she asked.
The so proclaimed “kitty” reached over and put Midoriya in the employee’s hand, which now he can see her nameplate, Clara. If she dared do anything to Midoriya, he would make sure she never dared look at him or Midoriya again.
Clara brought Midoriya inside along with the clack haired cat, and got out a first aid kit.
“That tape there looks pretty bad, I think I’m going to have to cut it off.” She pulled out a pair of medical scissors, carefully handling the kitten in front of her.
“This might hurt a bit, but it’s better to get this off than keeping it on.”
The girl carefully cut up along the edges of the tape around. Midoriya’s front leg, careful not to move too fast.
“Who would've done such a thing to someone so sweet as you? I just don’t understand these types of people.” Show whispered under her breath. Aizawa could agree.
After around 20 minutes of cutting, the first leg was done.
“There! That didn’t hurt too bad, did it?” She spoke quietly. Midoriya looked too tired to respond.
Clara accidentally moved the kitten too fast and hit his leg, only for no response to follow.
That was worrying.
Clara, looking like she was contemplating something, sighed and muttered an apology before, squeezing his front leg.
No response.
Great.
“Crap, that’s bad. I’m going to have to bring him to the vet.”
Aizawa’s eyes widened, and he meowed in disapproval. He needed to get to UA as soon as possible to get to Recovery Girl.
“No? You sure?” He nodded.
“Wow, it’s almost like you can understand me.” She nodded though, not questioning why he didn’t want to go to the vet.
After around half an hour of whimpers and cutting tape, it was all off.
“I’m going to need to cast your legs.” Clara said to no one really.
After going about that, and bandaging up all the scratches, Clara sighs in relief.
“Ok I’m done. You sure you don’t want to go to the vet?” She asks, as if she knows that they weren’t really cats.
Aizawa nodded, picking up Midoriya.
Clara gave a look of sympathy, and opened the door for them to leave. Thankfully, since it was late, no one went into the store.
After a couple blocks of walking, Aizawa recognizes where he is. UA was around 6 Kilometers, around an hour and twenty minutes by foot. For humans, at least, so more like around an hour and 45 for cats.
It took a while but a couple of hours of walking while carrying the kit, they made it to the gates of UA. Since they weren’t humans, they should be able to get in just fine, which they did.
After going to Recovery Girl, she helped them both back into Aizawa’s dorm. Midoriya wasn’t going to be able to be on his own for a while, as he was exhausted. As was he from all that walking. A very concerned Hizashi took care of them while they healed and waited for the quirk to pass. As soon as this was over, Midoriya was going to even more mandatory therapy.
