★“Didn’t you say you were fine just this morning? Why so slow now?” Childe teases when you are out and about on your daily walks, turning around to look at you walking over to him sluggishly.
★His playful smile melts into a fond one when he sees you shake your head in denial and insist to keep going, a chuckle leaving his lips as he walks over to help you, “is it so hard to admit it? I must say, you really are endearing,”
★You would try to not get Childe in the same room as you because you just know that if he gets sick, he wouldn’t admit it either, and if he had to be somewhere the next day, the was no way he would be staying back to take care of his own health
★And a sick Childe fighting hilichurls, especially with how irrational he was? There was no way he would get out of it unsheathed
★But although you know that, you wouldn’t want to tell him you were sick in the first place (despite him knowing you get sick easily, and it was easy to tell at this point with how long he had been with you), you still wouldn’t surrender to him and admit you were feeling unwell, especially on days you were supposed to spend time together before he goes out again
★(The fear that it would be the final time you see him has always been haunting you ever since you befriended the Fatui, and despite the amount of times he reassures you, it would never leave your mind)
★Though at the end of the day, Tartaglia will always find one way or another to have you give up, and once you do, be prepared for an excessive amount of teasing from him
★But he means well, and you know he does especially whenever a warm look of concern passes through his aqua eyes after you finish coughing your lungs out, voice hoarse as you ask him for water the moment you surrender to him and agree to be bedrested
★If he had to leave the next day, he would make sure you absolutely do not stay up or wake up early to see him out
★So he would leave earlier than he usually does, pressing a kiss onto your warm forehead while muttering apologies, and knowing that you would be heartbroken seeing him disappear when you wake up, he makes sure Tonia knows you were ill and asks her to take care of you assuming she was feeling alright herself
★Tartaglia would write to you if his mission was taking longer than he had expected to end, telling you how he was doing absolutely fine, and that you have to get better and be there to give him your usual welcoming hug when he comes back or he’d be very upset, he had warned (albeit playfully, which had made you laugh through tears)
★And sure enough, determined not to have the harbinger worried right after he had just came back from his missions, you had managed (with the help of Tonia) to break your fever in just a couple of days
★And it was absolutely worth it, when you see his face right after he exits, scanning the crowd of busy people and lands on your, eyes going wide with adoration as he sprints towards you and encase you in his arms
