Work Text:
A shiver went down his spine when the sun was suddenly blocked by a shadow. The content smile he had worn on his face fell. How dare a cloud disturb his sunbath?
Then the cloud cleared his throat. Mycroft scrunched up his nose but still didn’t open his eyes. „If you have any intetion of me agreeing to go to another beach vacation with you, I propose you step out of the light and let me enjoy my sunbath.“ The shadow didn’t move. „Honestly, Gregory, I’m not in the mood to go swimming right now.“
„Well, luckily that’s not what I’m here for.“ He could hear the mischievous undertone in his newly-wed husband’s voice. It prompted him to open one eye, at last. „Is that… ice cream?“ Mycroft licked his lips involuntarily. „Yeah, but I suppose I better get moving. I don’t want to disturb your sunbath…“ He made a show of licking the spoon as he started to walk away as slowly as possible.
„Gregory, please“ Mycroft pleaded sitting up. „I’m sorry. How was I to know that you’d be so kind to organize ice cream for us…“ Greg raised his eyebrows. „How could you ever doubt my kindness?“ He clasped his free hand to his breast in feigned shock. „My, I thought you knew me better than that.“
„I do.“ His voice was warm and he was now standing right next to his husband. He gazed at him lovingly and leaned forwards to kiss him, only to turn his head the last second and wound his lips around the ice cream covered spoon instead. Greg shook his head and chuckled. „Replaced by a spoon of ice cream. I should have known.“ Mycroft’s only respond was a pleased moan and a nearly ecstatic expression. „Maybe I should have thought of a more… interesting way to give it to you.“
Mycroft’s eyebrows raised at that and his eyes started to sparkle mischieviously. „And what, pray tell, did you have in mind?“ Greg carefully took the spoon out of his husband’s hand. „You’ll see…“
