Kiss the Bride
~Reckless Noona~
Tae moo's eyes were moist when he saw Shin Ha ri enter in her bridal gown, holding her dad’s hand. She beamed at him and he felt the happiest he ever had in his life.
The love of his life, she was walking down the aisle. He couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked - he felt like the luckiest man in the fish market.
Wait, fish market?
He saw the pastor wince from the corner of his eye, confirming his suspicion. He steeled a grin and noticed her father holding his breath. Thankfully, no one else seemed to have any clue about it, since the venue they (basically his grandpa) selected was so big.
Her father seemed in a hurry to leave, so he put her hand in Tae-moo’s and departed happily – making people talk about how much he adored his son-in-law to give his daughter away without much emotion.
Of course – however, it was President Kang’s wedding, and it was supposed to be perfect. Nothing could go wrong, so he forced a smile as the ceremony began.
“What is the matter?" Ha-ri muttered under her breath, shifting closer to him so she could talk.
"You smell of fish," Tae-moo replied, a fake smile plastered on his face for the camera.
"Yeah, I had to prepare some material till late yesterday night,” she said. “Need to take a leave for our honeymoon, after all.”
"Your leave would have been approved anyway – you are marrying me!” He told her, slightly loud, making the pastor glare at him.
Shin Ha-ri retorted through minced teeth, and to others she appeared grinning. She clutched his arm, almost pinching it. “Didn’t you attend the meeting in the morning too?”
The reply died at Tae-moo’s lips when he saw the officiant give him a death stare. The poor guy had hardly been able to breathe thanks to the stink, so read whatever he had to, hurriedly, and the couple only spoke next to say their vows. That, they were quite certain about. He didn't care if he had to smell like kimchi for the rest of his life, as long as he could wake up next to this woman.
Sooner than they knew it, it was time to kiss the bride.
He bent down, holding his breath. Maybe it was because he was nervous, or because she reeked, he hesitated for a second. She was still the woman he loved and so fighting the embarrassment and the stench, he leaned-
Before he could, however, she stood on her tiptoes and held his collar, pulling him in. Her scent, her lips met his. There was applause, and for a moment he thought he loved the smell of fresh mackerel.
"Oh, look at them, being so playful.” A lady sitting next to his grandfather said. “You are lucky, Chairman Kang. Looks like you'll be getting some good news soon!"
