“No,” Zeke laughed, “I called to see how you were doing. And to check that the phone lines are working properly. Seems as though they are.”
“Yep,” Levi mumbled, glancing over at the pile of papers that still needed to be filled out. He wasn’t particularly excited to have all that work left to do, and he was hoping that Zeke would finish their conversation quickly so he could get back to it.
“So…” Zeke sounded as though he was trying to think of how to continue the conversation, “What are you doing right now?”
“Paperwork,” Levi grunted, “Can we be done now?”
Zeke chuckled from the other end of the line, “Well you know, Levi. Phones aren’t simply just for casual conversation. We could talk about something… more interesting, if you’d like. I can show you how I like to use the phone.”
