Some of the details of this case were blurry so Isobel had ordered them to go UC and stakeout the club one of their suspects had frequented.
“I’m going to have to go home and find something suitable to wear.” Tiff mentioned.
“Okay…” Scola offered to take her there as he was already dressed for success.
Scola pulled up to Tiff’s place and put the car in park.
“You might as well come in.” Tiff suggested. “It’s probably going to take awhile.”
Scola nodded and turned off the ignition. He followed Tiff up to her front door and went inside after she unlocked it.
This was the first time he had been here and was pleasantly surprised by the decor. Sort of a hippy dippy aesthetic. Tapestries on the walls and all of the plants one could fit into an NYC apartment.
He made himself comfortable on the couch in her living room while she disappeared into her bedroom. He pulled out his phone and fiddled around with some apps.
Tiff emerged from the hallway 20 minutes or so later. Scola looked up from his phone screen and nearly had to pick his jaw up off the floor. Tiff had chosen a floor length black dress that revealed one shoulder. And Scola couldn’t help but notice how it hugged her in all the right places. She had even added to her makeup, making her eyes pop.
“What do you think? Too much?” Tiff asked.
“N…no. It’s perfect.” Scola hesitated. Why did his partner have to be so drop dead gorgeous? He adjusted his position on the couch, suddenly uncomfortable. He tightened the tie around his neck.
“Good.” Tiff smiled. “Ready to go?”
Scola swallowed the lump in his throat. “Ye…yeah. Let’s go.” He stood up and followed her out of the apartment. Tiff smiled to herself, sensing her partner’s sudden nervousness.
In the spirit of the case Scola felt obligated to open Tiff’s door for her. He also offered her a hand as she climbed into the passenger seat. She was wearing heels after all, a rare occasion for her he assumed. She smiled at the gesture.
Scola started the car and pulled away. He tried to concentrate on the road but couldn’t help but to keep glancing over at the woman next to him. He had already found her beautiful in her daily jeans and stretchy top, but now he was seeing a whole new level of Tiff he wasn’t sure he could handle.
“I didn’t even know you owned a dress like that.” Scola joked.
Tiff laughed. “You’d be surprised what I have hiding in that closet of mine.”
He chuckled. “I’m sure I would.”
Scola didn’t even want to think about it. If this dress was any indication, he could only imagine. Something shorter…or lingerie perhaps. Ugh no, he needed to stop. They had a job to do and he didn’t need his mind wandering like this.
They soon pulled up to the club and he decided to be a gentleman once again, coming around to open Tiff’s door for her. He shut it behind her and handed the keys to the valet, following his partner inside.
‘This is going to be an interesting night.’ He thought to himself.
