Summary
From the very beginning, through thick and thin, Mulder and Scully have been there for each other, have had each other’s back, and have gone to hell and back for each other. Best friends who care for each other, who would die for each other, who would live for each other. Across all lifetimes, always, Mulder has loved Scully and Scully has loved Mulder.
But, childhood trauma is a real bitch, ain’t she? All the years of being blamed and ignored and cast aside after Samantha’s abduction have taken their toll and Mulder still has trouble fully believing that he’s worthy of being cared for and loved.
Scully helps him realize otherwise.

She didn't have the energy to argue or simply tell him he was right, though the smile that might have earned her was tempting. She simply tucked her legs up on the couch, boots already removed and snuggled in closer to him.
Morgans head rested perfectly on the middle of his chest and the arm that had been on the couch came to rest over her hips. She brought a hand up and fisted a small portion of shirt, holding him to her. She sighed deeply, content as the familiar scent of him wrapped lovingly around her.
