This story is meant to continue after the High Potential 1x13 finale. Morgan struggles with the threat of the Gamemaker aka David, who she has now physically encountered, and to which her children have also been exposed. When she is about to share these details to her work partner, Adam Karadec, who was also calling to tell her that he had discovered that her long lost husband Roman Sinquerra, was still alive; and the call stops abruptly, Morgan then realizes Karadec has been shot. This leads to an investigation to find Karadec’s perpetrator, and Morgan comes to realize that at the end of the day, all roads lead back to her. Then there's that pesky issue of feelings of attraction that keep popping up, and despite both parties attempts to keep sweeping those feelings under the rug, they keep bubbling back to the surface, especially after Morgan helps Adam with his physical recovery from being shot. As they fall deeper down the rabbit hole together they find themselves unable to deny certain truths but also must face their greatest challenge yet.
